It was 8:30 in the morning when Adelaide was woken up by her home's doorbell ringing throughout the otherwise quiet house. Slowly, she struggles out of bed, putting on a robe and walking to the front door.
"Who is it?" she asks groggily and hears a chuckle in response.
"It's me, Del. Joseph," she hears from the other side and opens the front door to be greeted to his smiling face...and two takeaway coffees in his hand. She smiles at the coffee cups and asks, "is one for me?"
"Sure is," Joseph replies as he hands her a cup and walks into the house, "got your special order so you wouldn't get mad at me for waking you up so early."
"Did I ever tell you how much I love you?" Adelaide jokes as they both settle down on one of her living room couches.
"Rough night?" Joseph asks as he points at the multiple papers scattered all across the table.
"Yeah, international paperwork sucks," she responds while sipping on her coffee, "also, I'm in no mood to cook right now so if you haven't had breakfast already, we'll have to go out and grab a bite."
"Or," Joseph interrupts, "I could make us both some breakfast while you freshen up and probably finish packing," he says as he points at the half open suitcase placed at the end of the hall.
"Okay, now I officially couldn't have loved you any more," Adelaide states with a chuckle and Joseph chuckles along.
"I'm sure I'll find some way to make that happen," he jokes back as Addy gets up and heads to her room while he organizes all the papers in a pile and heads towards her kitchen.
About half an hour later, Adelaide steps out of her room and is greeted by the divine scent of something cooking in her kitchen. She walks in to see Joseph flipping pancakes on a pan while wearing her personalized comic-print apron.
"Cool apron," she jokes, making her presence known as Joseph turns around and smiles at her.
"Found it freshly packed in one of your cabinets. You weren't lying when you said you don't cook, huh?"
"Nope I don't. Mostly I eat out or at a friend's. Sometimes if I'm being too lazy, I just call Seb to come over and make me something," she shrugs.
"And he just does?" Joseph asked with a raised brow as Adelaide nods.
"Yep almost always does. Unless he has other plans. It's our thing, I help him with his grocery shopping or any other shopping actually and he helps me out with cooking and other stuff that I hate."
"That's awfully nice of him," Joseph states as he places a plate of pancakes on the kitchen counter before her.
"Hm sure is. But come on, how could you say no to this face?" Adelaide says sarcastically as she looks at him with puppy eyes and he just smiles fondly at her before taking the seat next to her as they both dig into the breakfast before them.
"So do we need to film these 'flashbacks' before you guys start filming the initial season?" Adelaide asks later as she sits on a kitchen stool, drying the dishes Joseph was washing and handing her.
He nods, "yeah. Something about outlook, I don't know. Since you have the busier schedule right now, tell me when you're free and I'll just accommodate my schedule according to that."
"Well, I'm gone the next two months, unfortunately. But afterwards, I'll be here for a month with the Comic Con panels plus it's Robert's birthday and he'd disown me if I ever missed that," she jokes.
"Sometimes I forget how close you are to the Marvel Bunch."
"Trust me, sometimes I do too. It's like a fantasy, you know? I literally grew up reading all these comics and now I'm friends with most of the cast that play these characters, it's crazy where life has gotten."
"You did work hard to get here," Joseph reasons.
"We all did, Jo. Some aren't just as lucky as I am. Having you guys as my friends, such nice fans and the most supportive younger b
rother ever, I literally couldn't have asked for anything more," she retorts with a smile and just then, her phone starts ringing.
"Oh it's Ian," she says as she answers the Facetime, "hey Ian."
"Hey Delli, how're you up already?" he jokes, knowing it was 'only 9:30 in the morning', according to Adelaide.
She rolls her eyes at him, "I had an intruder at home," she jokes as she watches a look of concern overtake Ian's face.
"You...what?"
"Hm and you probably know him too," she says as she turns the phone to Joseph and he waves with a smile.
Ian sighs out in relief and a smirk soon overtakes his face, "just yesterday I suggested you get together and you're hanging out already? God, you people work fast," he jokes.
"Seriously Ian?" Addy glares at him through the screen, "why'd you call?"
"Just wanted to check up on you. See if you needed help packing and maybe introduce your new loverboy to us but looks like you've got the packing bit covered."
"Yeah I've got it all covered and Ian, he's not my loverboy, for god's sake even if you do ever meet him, do not make it awkward," she warns him.
"That's what you're saying now but," he goes to speak but Adelaide cuts him off.
"No Ian, just don't. You don't even like the guy and you haven't even met him. Plus you know I don't date costars."
"It's not just me who doesn't like the guy," Ian tries to reason, "ask Jo if he likes the guy. I'm sure he'll have the same answer as I did."
"No I don't need to because it doesn't matter. You need to at least meet him before you form an opinion on him."
"Look at you defending him and arguing with me about it already," Ian complains.
"No it's not his fault. It's yours. It's not fair to him, Ian. You guys hate any new friend I make because they all somehow give off 'bad vibes' to you. I don't even know what that means but I'm honestly getting tired of this overprotective attitude you have towards me!"
"Okay let's just calm down," Joseph says as he takes Adelaide's phone out of her hands, "Ian, call back later when you're both calmer and ready to talk again," he says before hanging up the call and handing the phone back to Adelaide.
"I honestly can't believe him sometimes," Adelaide sighs as Joseph sits down next to her, putting his hands over her, in a way to comfort her.
"He's just looking out for you, Del. We all are," he tries to reason, causing her to sigh again.
"From what, Jo? A guy I'll literally be working with for the next five years or so?" she retorts with a raised brow.
"I get your point. That's why I said eventually they'll all give him a chance. You just need to have some patience. You know how crazy Ian and Charles get over you sometimes. Maybe you can introduce these new friends to them at the Comic Con or something," he suggests and Adelaide nods.
"Now how about we watch a movie or something instead of sitting and sulking here?" Joseph suggests with a cheery smile as Adelaide tries to fight off her own smile but fails miserably.
"Only if I get to pick."
"As long as you don't pick the Notebook again," Joseph jokes and Adelaide shoves his lightly as they walk back to her living room and set up to watch a movie. The two then spend the rest of the day binge watching shows instead of settling on a single movie. Later into the evening, they decide to go out for dinner before Adelaide sets off for her midnight flight to Canada for two months.

When they returned to Adelaide's place, they were greeted by a new car on the driveway. Adelaide immediately checks her phone to see it was 9PM now.
"Oh shit," she curses under her breath as she approaches the car and knocks on the window of the driver's seat.
"Oh hey Adelaide, you're back," Toby Regbo says as he opens the car door and steps outside.
Adelaide gives him a guilty smile in response, "Toby, I'm so sorry I totally lost track of time."
"Hey, it's alright we've got time. And I just got here like five minutes ago so no worries," he reassures her and turns to realize there was a third person here.
"Oh, Toby meet my friend Joseph Morgan. And Jo, this is Toby Regbo," she introduces the two men and they shake hands.
"Nice to meet you," Toby says.
"Pleasure's all mine, mate," Joseph replies as Adelaide unlocks her front door and ushers her friends inside her house.
"You two make yourselves comfortable, I'll be down with my suitcase. Just give me ten minutes tops," she says as she places the apartment keys of the living room coffee table.
"It's alright, Del. I should be heading back now anyways. Just wanted to walk you back home," Joseph says, smiling at Adelaide, knowing she hated to say 'goodbye' even if it was for two months this time.
"Oh okay," she whispers, "I'll miss you so much," she says as she walks up to Joseph and pulls him into a tight hug.
"I'll miss you too, Del. You take care of yourself and keep in touch okay?" Joseph says as they break away from the hug and he notices tears welling up in her eyes.
"Don't have too much fun without me," she jokes, trying not to cry.
Joseph chuckles at her words, "I should be telling you that," he says before turning to Toby, "and do me a favor and take good care of our girl, alright mate?" he requests him and earns a sincere nod from Toby in response.
"You should go before I actually start crying," Adelaide nudges him and he lets out a short laugh.
"Wouldn't want that. Alright, I'll see you in two months, Delli," Joseph says as he jokingly ruffles her hair and places a small kiss of her cheek before turning around and walking out through the front door.
After they hear the front door close and a car engine start, Adelaide sighs and turns around to look at Toby again.
"Give me ten minutes," she says and he nods.
"Take as long as you need. It's alright, we have time," he replies as he settles down on the couch and Adelaide heads upstairs to finish packing. Soon enough, Adelaide was all packed and ready to go. And so began this new chapter is Adelaide's life...
