San
"NIGGA WE NOT ON coo' terms right nie'. Don't talk to me unless it's 'bout business." Beezy spat. He was still stuck on the fact that San butted into the situation with Ko'tavia.
"You doin' too much mane. Actin' like a lil' bitch over sumn that's not een' serious" San shrugged and took another hit of his blunt.
"I'm doin' too much?? You did too much by drivin' ha' home da' fuck. Ain' even have ta' do allat'. Ha' ass coulda took a Uber like she was 'posed to."
San stayed silent and continued to zone out. He wasn't one for confrontation and he wasn't about to feed into whatever Beezy was trynna start.
"You gone give me the nigga lo' or what? Ian 'bout ta' waste my time arguin wit' chu' like no lil ass kid. Just gimmie the lo' so I can get my money cuh." San spoke in a blank voice.
If Beezy was being honest, San was actually someone he never wanted to piss off. He'd seen San pissed off many times before, and it never ended well.
But if it was about Ko'tavia, then he gave no fucks.
"Ima tell Devo to send you da lo'. After dat' you can get da' fuck out."
San stood up from his seat and stretched his body. He wasn't worried about nothing Beezy was talking about from this point on. Just wanted his money.
"Coo'."
That was all San said before getting into his car and pulling off.
After all, he still had to try and make it to Tavia's family cookout. He wouldn't admit it, but he was actually looking forward to it.
He wanted to get to know her more.. it was something about her. Something so captivating that it made him want to be around her more.
Pulling up to his house, he shut his car off and took a deep breath. Here he was, back to his lonely reality.
He really had no one.. no family, no actual friends, nothing. He considered Beezy a close friend but as of right now they weren't on good terms.
His life was a joke and he knew that, he just hoped that some light can shine into it soon.
And little did he know, it would.
The only thing he was worried about now was getting ready for the cookout.
He'd be damned if he missed out on an opportunity to see her again.

Ko'tavia Morris
"I'm bout's ta' beat this bitch up!" Ko'tavia shouted to her brother over the music.
"You two stop the fuckin' fightin'! Actin' like y'all 6." Her mother scolded and stood in line for the plates.
Everyone had already gathered at her parents house. Everyone except San.
The one person she actually wanted to come still hadn't showed. Ain't that some shit?
"Tavvv ya' lil friends here" Nori teased, walking onto the patio with a plate.
"Shit really? Ahhh ima be back y'all" Tavia said to her cousins and went back inside the house.
She immediately rushed to the door and there he was.
"Sancere you came! Late as fuck, but heyy" Tavia dragged out and pulled him into a hug.
"Yea I wasn't gone miss a chance at eatin' some food guh'." He chuckled and wrapped his arms around her.
They had become closer than they should have in only one day. But neither of them were complaining about it.
"Ugh quit lyin'. Y'know you came fa' me. But lemme introduce you to da' fam!"
She pulled him by his hand around the three-story house. Introducing him to her favorite cousins and uncles. Now, it was time for the parents..
"Mami, pops.. this is my new friend Sancere. I met him through Beezy."
San held out his hand towards the older woman but she declined and brought him into a big hug. She was always so friendly.. guess that's the Samoan side of her.
"Oh god you're so handsome. I'm already seein' the beautiful grand babies I'll get."
...
"Mami! Really??"
"I agree, it's a good fit.." her dad added on.
San chuckled and shook his head, "Thank you Mrs??"
"Oh shit ian tell you my name! It's Lolana sweet heart. And this is my husband Derryl."
It was clear by Tavi's face that she was annoyed. Of course they had to go and embarrass her.
"You hungry babe?? I can make you a plate, I know that line crowded right now." Lolana spoke, asking San.
He actually was hungry but he didn't want her to feel like she had to stop what she was doing to make a plate for him.
"Nah it's fine Mrs. Lolana. I'a make one in a bit. Don't gotta' stop what you doin'."
"Oh nonsense! I'm makin' you one, you want everything?"
He nodded and thanked her. This actually wasn't as bad as he thought. With his social anxiety, it was hard for him to be in large crowds.
But her family was so welcoming.
"Mkay we're gonna go to the garage, so we can talk for a bit." Tavi spoke up.
"Okay babe, I'll bring y'all's food down once the line dies down."
The two nodded and Tavia led him to the garage. He found his gaze looking towards her ass unintentionally..
Now that he really looked at her, she had a good ass body. The shirt she was wearing showed her arm and waist stretch marks.
Which he thought was beautiful. Her thick thighs were almost busting out of her shorts, and her little stomach pudge bounced every time she walked.
Now he understood why Beezy always got so pissed when it came to her. Shit, he would too.
"Sooo this is my lil' garage. I come here to chill out sometimes. It's where I can smoke in peace and shi." Tavia said and closed the garage doors.
He sat on the couch and studied the room. It was like a little lounge. Couches and a whole tv was set up..
It almost didn't even look like a garage, just like a second living room.
"This shi' nice.. you trynna smoke?" San asked as Tavi made herself comfortable next to him.
"Hell yea, lemme play some music first tho."
She turned the tv on and put on Spotify. The good thing about the garage was you could barely hear anything from the outside.
So all the loud yelling and music was faint.
"What you wanna listen to?" She asked softly and handed him the remote.
"Shi lemme put you on sum real quick."
'OUT THE SLUMS by Drakeo the Ruler'
"Oh my god, you fuck wit' Drakeo too??" Tavia excitedly asked while one of her favorite songs played.
"Yea, he grew up wit' my uncles so I been listenin' to him since 'fore he died. Nigga was da big homie."
"Yea, you definitely my new best fren."
San smiled and licked the wrapper of the blunt to seal it. Ko'tavia looked at him and squeezed her thighs together.
'Cause why the fuck he gotta lick it like dat?'
He made eye contact with her while he was licking it seal. Knowing exactly what he was doing.
She gave him a mug and kissed her teeth. Because why was he playing with her right now.
"Lemme get first hit." She softly said and he passed her the blunt once he lit it.
She slowly wrapped her lips around it and closed her eyes while taking a hit.
The only thing San focused on was the way her lips fit around the blunt. Her lip gloss stained the paper but he was fine with it. She was so sexy.
She tilted her head up and blew the smoke from her mouth. Her eyes were beginning to get low and she felt her high taking over after just one hit.
'Damn he got some strong ass weed'
"So finish tellin me 'bout yo self. We never got to finish da' conversation." San brought up and Tavia nodded.
"Yea you right, but you goin first this time! I went first last time."
"Mmcht really cuh? Ain't nun really interesting about me."
"Don't call me no 'cuh', and stop down playin ya self. What I tell you 'bout that?"
San sighed and took the blunt from her hands. He really didn't know what she expected. There's nothing good about him that he can flaunt around, so he wasn't even gonna try.
"Well ion really got no plans for my future, and ian good at nun'. Ion know what else you needa' know 'bout me." He shrugged.
"Well let's start wit' an easy question.. when you was younger what did you want ta be?"
"Shi I wanted to be a money accountant.. but I got older and realized that's not how it's gone be for me."
"Why you say dat'? You still can Sancere, so why you give up?"
"Some shi happened in my life ight? Some shit I can't talk 'bout. So I had to drop outta high school. I was in honors and everything.."
Ko'tavia could sense that he was becoming tired of the conversation.. he didn't like opening up and that was fine with her. She just needed to respect it.
"You don't gotta talk about it no more San. Youn' like talkin' 'bout ya self and I gotta respect boundaries."
San nodded and licked his lips. He didn't really have much to say now, and neither did Tavia.
An awkward silence fell over them just like the first time they met.
"Why youn' got no boyfriend assum? You too pretty ta' not have somebody."
"What makes you think ion' got somebody?" She questioned with a smile.
"Well for one you wouldn't be sittin' here on a Saturday wit' me." He lowly chuckled.
His eyes were low and his head was now fully leaned back. The high was starting to kick in for both of them.
"Shut ya' ass up." Ko'tavia sighed and rolled her eyes. He was right after all, she wouldn't be sitting here with him if she did.
"Wanna help me pick what pictures ta' post??"
He nodded with a bored expression and she handed him her phone, letting him go through her photos.
San scrolled for a bit until he saw some that he liked. He only liked them because she was dressed bummy but still found a way to make it look cute.

It was nearing the end of the cookout and everyone was scattered around. Most guests already left and the others just stood around talking.
Beezy never showed, which bothered her. He'd been avoiding her and even blocked her on Instagram since yesterday.
She just didn't understand what he was so mad for, he's the one that scolds her for being so closed off. Yet the moment she starts talking to people it's a problem?
"Hun why didn't Beezy show? Y'all still cool right?" Her mom questioned. Beezy was like a second son to her. She practically raised him.
"To be honest mom ion' know, he been movin' weird since yesterday." Tavia shrugged, she wasn't about to stress herself thinking she did something to him. She knew she ain't did shit to that man.
"Mhm okay babe, can you do me a favor and hang out with your younger cousins in the living room? Oh and is the pretty guy still here!??"
"Mom you are so nosey.." Tavia laughed, shaking her head in the process. "He went home a while ago, I wanted him to stay but he had to take care of business."
"What kinda business he do?"
Tavia side eyed her and thought it was best to probably not tell the truth..
"Uhh.. y'know he a lil entrepreneur and what not." She lied straight through her teeth.
Lolana would never approve of her daughter hanging around with a.. thug, in her words. That's what she saw them as.
Even though her son was one, she gave up on trying to get him out of that mindset a while ago. Now she was just focused on making sure her daughter didn't fall down that path next.
"Mhmm, sounds like you're lying to me. Better not be because I'll find out Leilani, I promise you." Lolana spoke seriously.
Ko'tavia knew she was serious once she heard her middle name. It annoyed her how she was still treated like a child.
Her brother Caysee never got scolded for the shit he did or the bitches he fucked with, but when it came to Ko'tavia she had to be perfect. And if she wasn't it was a problem?? That shit wasn't fair at all.
And she knew some day she'd get tired of holding her tongue.
"Alright Mami I know. Don't even gotta do all that."
"I'm serious. If he's one of them that's in and out the streets Ko'tavia, It's gone be a problem."
"Ion even have the energy right now, I'll just go with the little ones."
This is exactly why Tavia hated being around her mother sometimes. Lolana always made her feel like she had to be perfect. And if she wasn't she made her feel like a disgrace.
"Yea it's best you do that, already done made me mad!"
authors note.
her momma irritate my soul
