Ko'tavia Morris
THE PARTY HAD ONLY gotten more active once the girls started dancing. Now almost every dude was up and trying to find a girl to take home.
Laniya and Nori gave up on the dancing a while ago, Ko'tavia was the only one still up and dancing.
It was clear that Nori was antsy, she knew that at any moment now Caysee would come barging in.
Along with whoever else he chose to bring along, it was only a matter of time.
"Girl why you look so damn scared? Ya' ass look paler then you already are." Laniya joked, trying to lighten the air. She could sense it was some tension.
"Not funny. And girl y'know why I'm scared! You know what's finna happen and you over here joking." Nori sighed and played with her hair.
She was starting to see that this whole 'one night out thing' was a mistake. It seemed like she was the only taking this seriously.
Laniya just shrugged and kept her bubbly energy, and Ko'tavia couldn't stop fuckin' twerking.
This whole night was about to go to shit and Nori could feel it.
As if on cue, the sound of multiple gun shots echoed throughout the two story house.
"Here we fucking go."
San and Caysee walked side by side— their guns resting in their waistband. Beez and then followed behind.
They had masks on to cover their face and black hoodies on. It was the signature go to for their gang.
Without saying a word, San shot the man that was touching on Tavia and he fell to the floor with a 'thud'.
By now everyone was screaming and trying to find a way out, while Ko'tavia and Nori just stood there stuck in place.
The girls knew this would happen, but they still weren't prepared for it.
"Oh y'all was not fuckin' joking.." Laniya whispered, even she was scared.
"Why the fuck would we be jokin' girl!?"
For fun, San and Caysee just started shooting any randoms they saw.
The two let out laughs at the way some of them tried to get away.
This was what brought them together, their joy in killing. They bonded over it.
And when they were together, the two were the most deadliest duo. No one was safe.
Ko'tavia locked eyes with San, but since his face was covered she couldn't tell who it was.
He started her down with lazy eyes and she wanted to sink into the floor. She was fucking scared.
"Yo ain't this Tali's hood? Ain't we cool wit' dem'?? Fuck y'all shooting dese' niggas fa'!!" Beez sighed, and cocked his gun back to join in on the killing.
"Cuz' they actin' like they don't know who I am. And on top of dat, Tali broke ass owe me money." Caysee shrugged.
The whole group just stood there talking as if they didn't literally just kill over ten people..
They wanted to continue, but they heard police sirens coming closer and closer.
San kissed his teeth at the fact he couldn't kill no more.
'Pussy police always ruining sumn.'
"Aii it's time ta go mane," Caysee sighed; grabbing Ko'tavia and Nori roughly by their arms. "Start da car fo' me Beez."
"Oh bitch, I won't be goin' no where wit' you. And I'm fuckin' telling mom!"
Ko'tavia was irritated that he always treated her like a child. She couldn't even go to a party without him up her ass?
Nori felt the same way, especially because she wasn't even doing anything but standing there. She barely even danced!
"Shut the fuck up mane, tell n ima tell yo ass was up here twerking on grown ass men!"
"Nigga do you forget I'm grown? Get the fuck out my face." She scoffed and roughly snatched her arm from him.
"You just turned twenty, stop trynna be fuckin' fast. That nigga you was dancin on?? Was a damn rapist, was prolly finna take you home and all."
Ko'tavia rolled her eyes and tried to ignore the fact that she was still being stared at.
San's eyes never left her tall frame, and she found it quite weird. She didn't know it was San but even if she did, she'd still find it weird.
"Well I'm leaving, thanks for ruinin' shit for me yet again Caysee." She sighed and grabbed Nori's hand, pulling her away from Caysee.
The two girls walked out together, both of their moods being ruined.
"Nori and I'm gone get on yo' ass later too! Always playin'."

Dipping her paint brush into the paint, Ko'tavia let her hand flow against the canvas.
Painting was always something she did to get free her mind. Since she was still bothered by the events from earlier, she thought why not paint?
She had orders to do soon anyways, she needed to do a self portrait and a mural.
Self portraits was something she was kind of bad at, but she could still make it look presentable. Just needed more practice.
'PROMISES' by jhene aiko played lowly from her tv. Since she couldn't paint without some type of music playing.
San was still on her mind for some reason, and she still hadn't heard from the man. Maybe she needed to set her pride aside and reach out to him first?
"Tuh, I would never.." Tavia spoke aloud and shook her head. It's just not something she allowed herself to do.
She took a step back and looked at her painting from an angle.
Knowing she could do better, she sighed. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't her best.
( solitude . by ko'tavia morris )
She was trying to represent that sometimes, being alone can cause rebirth. Solitude wasn't always a bad thing, and that was something she was trying to learn herself.
Her separation anxiety took a huge role in who she was as a person.. and she couldn't say for sure that it was in a positive way.
Like many other people, she expressed herself through her art pieces. Because she knew a lot of others would most likely relate.
She finished some last touches onto her work and took a picture before sending it to her art coach.
This art genre was something Tavi didn't usually do, which is why she wanted to share it with her mentor.
Just as she sent the message, she noticed she got a text? From nearly an hour ago..
"Now why the hell didn't I get the notification."
The number read 'SANCERE.' and she couldn't even hold back her smile.

Tavia shut off her phone and couldn't wipe the smile off of her face.
She'd been craving to talk to him for the longest, and now he was coming over.
Nori was at Caysee's house so it would just be the two of them here. Her room was already straightened, she never really let it get dirty like that.
The most she did was light her bath and body works candle and spray some fragrance into her room.
That damn litter box irritated her soul. Yes, she had a cat. He was somewhere hiding at the moment but she did have one.
Tavia only became more excited while waiting for him to arrive. She was so excited that even though she was sleepy, she was gonna force herself to stay up..
Just for him.

"And your total will be $12.72," the worker called out from behind the glass.
San stopped at El Pollo Loco just like he said he would, then he'd be on his way to Ko'tavia.
He counted the money and handed it over to the worker; receiving his change and the food.
"You have a nice day sir, and take care!"
"Yea you too."
Luckily the food place wasn't far from her home, so he'd be there in no time.
He's came to her house many times before without her knowing, so he knew his way around pretty well. Even knew all the fastest routes to get there.
But he hated coming to Inglewood, it was always so crowded and no where to park. Gentrification at its finest.
Ever since they put all the stadiums out here, Inglewood became a place he dreaded.
But for Ko'tavia, he'd manage.
He pulled up at the modern home and put his car in park.
Sending a text telling her to open the door, he grabbed the food along with the drinks and made his way to the porch.
It was cold as hell outside and she was taking her sweet ass time to open the door.
He kissed his teeth as he heard footsteps nearing closer.
Ko'tavia opened the door with a small smile on her face and he looked at her with his natural mug.
"Here lemme hold the drinks fa' you, and come in!" She spoke, grabbing the drinks and pushing the door open.
San gladly walked in and took a look around. He lowkey loved looking at how people designed their homes.
Ko'tavia grabbed his hand and led him to her room and shut the door behind her.
He took his shoes off and sat near her— on the edge of the bed.
"Thanks for the food boo," she smiled while taking a bite of her burrito. He nodded and started looking at her food, it lowkey looked good.
"Aye lemme get a bite real quick."
She held her burrito up to his mouth and let him get a bite. Not being one to complain about sharing food, she didn't mind letting him get some.
"It's good huh?" She asked and watched him munch down on it.
'He fuckin that shit up..'
"Ehh it's aii," he lied. That shit was mouth watering.
Ko'tavia shook her head and kissed her teeth. "boy hush, you know it's good!"
Aaliyah played in the background, it was low but still heard.
San sat in silence as he was dazed out, he looked around her room and noticed a bunch of paintings on the walls.
He guessed those were her art works, that's one thing he liked about her.. she was so creative.
A painting that fresh caught his eye, and he could tell it was fresh because the paint wasn't completely dry yet.
"You just painted dat'?" He asked, pointing towards her newest painting.
"Yea, you like it? I feel like I could've done better.."
"Mane shut up, it's pretty." He kissed his teeth and she couldn't help but laugh at his attitude. "Thank you boo."
"You should paint me sumn." He randomly said and she took a sip of her drink.
"What would you want?"
"Don't matter, you can freestyle. I just want sumn so I can hang it up, my room blank as hell right now."
"Why not just go buy a painting? Y'know they got some cheap ones at Ross." She suggested.
She didn't feel like her art work was that good to be hung up in someone's room other than her own.
"Nah, I wanna hang up something that you make."
Here he goes, making her stomach fill with butterflies again.
"Aww that's sweet, I'll make you something soon!" Tavia smiled and he took the time to notice her natural beauty.
She had on no makeup, not even lashes. In his eyes she looked prettier like this, her natural skin glowing even in the dark.
"You pretty as hell, you kno' dat?"
She became nervous under his gaze and turned her face, trying to hide her smile.
"T..thank you"
He kissed his teeth at the fact that she was trying to hide from him and grabbed her face.
"What you trynna hide fo'? Look at me when you talk, Ko'tavia."
By this point, she was smiling from ear to ear while looking at him.
"Thank you San." She repeated and he hummed, letting her face go.
The things she would do to this man, he don't even understand.
After a while of comfortable silence, Ko'tavia spoke up.
"You wanna watch something?"
When she saw him nod, she got up and grabbed her ps5 controller; going to Disney+.
"We finna watch some childhood classics!" She exclaimed and put on princess diaries. This was her shit.
"Childish ass, come lay down." He said in a raspy voice, it was clear he was tired.
She crawled and laid next to him, but didn't want to put her body directly onto him.
He kissed his teeth and grabbed her by her waist— pulling her into him.
Tavia felt the butterflies in her stomach yet again, what the fuck was this man doing to her.
Half way through the movie, San fell asleep while still holding Ko'tavia close.
His arms wrapped tightly around her waist as if she was going to leave him somehow.
Her heart jumped when he leaned his face on her chest, even when he was sleep he still had her a blushing mess.
She fell asleep in his arms, feeling safer than ever.
