Chapter one
"Mom the door is locked!" Rosie called from the door she had been pulling at. Her head tilted up to the top of the stairs knowing her mother's gray hair would peek out any minute.
And like clockwork the woman looked down from the tip of the tower. "I know." Mother Gothel said her voice carrying from the walls in her monotone.
The blonde girl shivered she should have known better to even ask. Her mother hardly went out too worried of how she looked.
Still Rosie tried once again and with a fortune she didn't know she had the lock popped.
The girl would call it luck but honestly it was just aging from having no reparse in the isle.
Once her mother disappeared from view, she fled the broken-down tower without a thought in her head.
The door busted open hitting a girl not yet even ten. the girls head shot up in anger that could match only her mother's even as she was knocked on the ground.
Her heart sped missing a beat witnessing the mess that she caused. "oh my, I'm so so so so sorry." Rosie held out her hand just wanting to fix thing and help her up.
The young girl's eyes widened meeting Rosies own light brown ones. Something crossed the girls mind and she kicked the young Gothel in the shin.
Rosie was barely out the door her legs hurt and guilt was eating at her. she looked back up the tip of her home. What was she doing?
Oh, she was going to find something to eat.
She hadn't eaten in a week. the cabinets had gone dry not a saltine on the shelf.
Rosie didn't have any money to bring food back home and well she wasn't going to steal like all the other isle kids.
The girl decided to hum as she walked the song her mother used to sing as she brushed her hair.
She was a replacement for her mothers first daughter. Rosie knew that very well. She remembered all the tales of how Rapunzel on how she had the whole tower clean every morning, how she could paint, sing, do all her studies, play chest, and heal her.
Rosie was never jealous of Rapunzel but looked up to her.
