⚠️Warning: Cursing & cringe⚠️

In Chinese-Japanese folklore, fated lovers were said to be joined by an unseen red string, tied around one little finger of each. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never breaks. -Google

I take a deep breath and stare down at my hands. Actually it's my little one. There is a red string connected to it. I just keep staring at the string and barely take notice of my crow landing in front of me. 

"CAW! CAW! YOU'RE SUMMONED TO A PILLAR MEETING GIYUU TOMIOKA!" he shouts. He is old. Why is he so loud? I nod and get up to put on my haori, before making my way to the headquarters slowly. I have time. It's not like they will care about me being late.

I'm the last one to arrive and stand in the distance, trying to not get into their attention. Unfortunately a certain mosquito noticed me and starts walking to my direction. "Ara ara, Tomioka-san. You're late again. I barely noticed you." she smiles at me.

Can you not?

I ignore her and a vein pops on her forehead. "Tomioka-san, it's not nice to ignore people when they're talking to you." She giggles. "This is why nobody likes you." 

This is pretty much normal. 

"The master has arrived." A synchron voice speaks and in a matter of miliseconds all of us are in a line, bowing to the master. "A lovely morning my children. It's nice to see you all in good health." He greets us. "Thank you Master, I will pray for your well being." Gyomei speaks. "Thank you Gyomei. I suppose the sky is blue, isn't it?" Master asks.

And from here on our meeting starts. Each of us tell a shortcut from our missions and the demons we've encountered. I tell mine too without looking at anyone. I wonder if only I can see the red string on my hand. Who does it belong to?

After a while everyone told their stories, and the master sighs and then looks up, smiling at us. "Well my children. It seems that the demon attacks have increased, specifically at the Hunaniko Mountain. I'd like to send two of my pillars there. Sanemi, Giyuu? Can I leave it to you two?" he asks us.

Oh no. This won't end well.

But since none of us can say no to the master we both nod and reply. "Yes." He smiles at us. "Thank you. You all are dismissed exept for Giyuu and Sanemi. Have a great day everyone." Ubuyashiki says and everyone exept Shinazugawa and me leave the room. 

"Now my children. I will give you some more information about your mission. The place is a big village, not far from here. There's a possibility that you will not encounter the demons on your first day, I suppose you two should stay there for two days atleast." He requests. I can feel Shinazugawas blood boiling and gulp. These are going to be one hell of two days.

After master gives us some more information and the location, we immediately sprint off to the Hunaniko Mountain. I don't look at him, he doesn't look at me. 

Good.

"Tsk, why did it have to be you?" Shinazugawa growls but I ignore him. "Look! If you don't fucking stop ignoring me the whole mission, I-" He shouts but then stops. I can feel his gaze on me, which sends shivers down my spine and I gulp. "What?" I ask without looking at him. 

"What the fuck.." I hear him mumble and now curious, I turn my head to look at him. He stares down at me. Before I can react, he pulls me over to him and we stop. 

A little shocked I stare at him, confused. He's acting weird and why is he so red? "Shut up, you almost ran into a tree. Be glad I saved you." He frowns and lets go of me. 

I roll my eyes at his action and we continue with our mission. I can't believe I haven't noticed the red string on his little finger the whole time.

I'm sorry, it's short and cringe but I'll try to make the chapters longer and better. Sorry for my grammar again. I s'hope you still enjoy reading this story!
