A wide grin grows on mikayla's face as she treads to where chris is standing on the concrete street, his eyes slightly widening at the sight of mikayla. he's leaning on matt's minivan, his arms folded in a white shirt, black baggy jeans and a black backwards cap; unintentionally matching with mikayla.

he looks as if he's in awe while she pushes her brunette waves dancing with the wind behind her ear. miks moves the leopard print handbag to rest on her shoulder so she can easily hug chris once she finally reaches him. he pulls her into a hug, enveloping her with a tight, warm embrace and miks feels her cheeks heat up as if she's a teenage girl.

she quickly pulls away, not wanting to ruin her makeup as well as chris' shirt. "you look cute," mikayla compliments and his face quickly scrunches up.

"cute?" he repeats in an offended tone. chris scoffs before moving out of the way so that mikayla can enter the minivan. she knows that he must hate how matt has to drive them to wherever they're going, but it's just temporary, at least that's what he keeps telling himself.

"thank you," miks utters with a grin as she sits in the middle seats in matt's minivan. chris sits next to her and mikayla fights the urge to dryly chuckle at the awkwardness.

she doesn't blame chris for not having his license, and she isn't mad at it either but she just finds it slightly funny how matt is always the designated driver, even if he isn't going with them.

mikayla forces a warm smile, pulling the seatbelt over herself and looking up at the rear view mirror. she locks eyes with matt and the amused expression on his face. "matt," she mumbles.

"mikayla," he mutters with the same tone before switching the car engine on. a silence falls over the three of them as matt pulls onto the road.

miks looks out of the window, admiring the view. the street lights emit a warm glow that only highlights the streets buzzing with people and chatter even though it's getting late. she props her elbow up, resting her chin on the palm of her hand. her mind is somewhere else while the night breeze enters the car through the cracked open window.

the drive lasts around half an hour, only sparking mikayla's curiosity further as the seconds pass by. as matt slows down his driving, mikayla's vision is met with a large building she hasn't seen before, even despite living in boston for her entire life. people enter and exit the building as mikayla squints her eyes to get a better look at the sign, reading 'BOSTON AQUARIUM' in bold, italic writing

          mikayla widely grins at the sign, turning to look at chris—who's already looking at her—admiring how he pays attention to everything about her. mikayla rarely mentions how much she loves all animals whether they're on land or in the sea, and she thinks to herself that chris chose this place on purpose.

          "pick you up in an hour?" matt questions from the driver's seat, leaning back and turning his head to face his brother. matt doesn't seemed bothered at all driving and picking up chris and mikayla, making her smile since he seems to know how special this is to both of them.

          "yeah thanks," chris gratefully replies, dapping his brother up quickly. the minivan door opens and chris exits the car first, followed by mikayla after she mutters a quiet 'thank you' to matt.

          once they're out of the car, chris closes the door. his hands fall to his side and it briefly touches mikayla's so chris takes it as an opportunity to interlock their fingers.

          "have fun," matt calls out before holding the button next to him and closing the passenger door window. he reverses his car, sticking his hand out of the window on his side and waving at them.

          mikayla then looks up at chris, her eyes sparkling with adoration. she takes his other hand in her own, looking up at him, suddenly reflecting on every moment that led them to where they are now. she almost feels tears start to appear due to everything, but she bats her eyelashes quickly to avoid them from falling. "thanks for this chris," she says through a smile, pulling him into a quick hug. mikayla will never be able to put into words how much this boy means to her.

          chris pulls away, his upper lip curling into a proud grin. "no problem miks," he replies, his hand returning to where mikayla's is so their fingers can interlace in perfect harmony.

          "let's go!" mikayla excitedly squeals since she hasn't been to aquarium since she had a good relationship with her parents; years ago. she can't help but show her immense happiness that she's able to visit one again.

          the two of them find themself inside the building, hand in hand and immediately greeted by a blue light reflecting against their skin. mikayla feels like a little kid in a candy store with the way her face lights up at the sight of different species of fish swimming around. she feels extremely comfortable while they walk through the lobby, a warm and tingling sensation in her heart at the feeling of being with chris, alone. they have nobody here to disrupt their peace as well as the feeling of bliss that grows inside of her when they're together.

"how much do you wanna bet we're about to see a great white," chris childishly says through a chuckle as they walk through a hall surrounded by varied types of fish. they look up at the tank above them, admiring the beauty of aquatic nature.

mikayla lets out a girlish giggle at his comment, using her free hand to push her hair behind her ear. "about as likely as seeing a fucking mermaid," she retorts and he playfully nudges her shoulder.

she heavily enjoys how chris has managed to change from such a player to someone who she can see herself with for a while. mikayla wonders if he'd be the person he is today if they never started their fake relationship, silently pondering on how they would act towards each other.

they stop in front of a small, interactive tank with rocks, coral and seaweed; small turtles swimming around. mikayla gently reaches inside, her fingertips tracing the animal's patterned shell and her lips part slightly at how beautiful it is.

she looks up at chris while biting her lip to conceal her dimpled grin. "don't be a pussy, come on," mikayla teases as she lets go of his hand, instead carefully moving it to where the turtle is. she rests her hand on top of his, her fingers slipping between the gap between his own as she guides him to pet the turtle.

"cool," chris mumbles without a hint of sarcasm laced in his voice. a coy smile grows on his face while he continues to watch mikayla stare at it in awe, her lips parting slightly. "next tank?" he asks miks after a couple moments and she nods her head, removing her hand and applying the hand sanitizer next to the display.

mikayla rubs it into her hands before holding hands with chris again. they maneuver past other couples as well as little children gawking at the sights of sharks and fish swimming around before they reach a quieter area. there's a large tank of fishes with all sorts of different colors and they finally have some privacy after being surrounded by people.

they stand in front of the large tank, hand in hand, while admiring the aquatic animals. "nature is so fucking beautiful, you know?" mikayla speaks up to break the comfortable silence. "like—we don't even deserve it, as a society if that makes sense. it's too gorgeous for this evil world we live in," mikayla doesn't realize she's rambling with the way chris nods his head, showcasing how attentive he really is.

"i love when you talk," chris whispers, his voice only setting off a whole zoo in mikayla's stomach. his tone just shows that he's being completely sincere and not trying to impress mikayla in any way at all.

"you're the cutest, christopher," miks teasingly whispers while they maintain eye contact, even though she know how the word 'cute' bothers him at times but she doesn't care. "this is the nicest thing ever, you're literally—you're just perfect."

chris' hands reach for both sides of mikayla's face, his cheek softly rubbing her thumb. his tongue glides across his bottom lip before he flashes mikayla a quick grin. "you're perfect," he retorts, only making the smile on mikayla's face grow. "you're everything," chris finally says.

          mikayla's facial expression softens at chris' peaceful and calming words, realizing that everything was worth it. every single moment they shared whether it was positive or negative was worth it. even if something happens between them, she knows that chris will always have that piece of her heart forever. after everything they've been through, she can't help it. mikayla has fallen for chris and there's nothing that'll change that, no matter how many issues they'll experience in the future.

          she feels like she's in a movie or romance book with the way she cares so deeply for chris. mikayla's heart warms at the mention of him and she can never seem to stop smiling whenever she's in his presence.

          "no matter what, i'll be yours chris. always," mikayla utters while her heartbeat rapidly increases. she feels like this is such a perfect moment she'll always treasure until the day she dies. "this," she uses her head to gesture between the both of them, "will always bring me a feeling of joy i can't explain."

          chris grins at her words as if this is everything and more he's been waiting to hear. "it'll always be you chris," mikayla continues, not done with expressing her strong and overbearing emotions. "no matter what, it'll always be you."

she looks up at chris through her lashes, tilting her head slightly. it's as if they send each other telepathic messages with the way their eyes lock and suddenly their lips are pressed against each other's, the sound of water ripples filling their ears. mikayla's arms rest on chris' shoulders as they continue to kiss, finding this moment extremely romantic. this is what she's been needing for her entire life. that feeling, that void in her heart that she always wanted to fill is exactly what she feels when she's with chris. she knows it, they both know it. everything is perfect. this is perfect.
