Side by side, Adora and Catra started on their way to the entrance of the school. Finn held onto their mothers hand tightly as they followed behind the two.

A silence had settled over the blonde and brunette. Though it wasn't exactly awkward, it wasn't very enjoyable either. They both wanted to break the silence but neither were sure how to, so they didn't attempt to speak to one another. Instead, they continued their walk through the hallways of the elementary school.

A few minutes later, the three arrived at the entrance of the school. Adora stepped ahead of the two magicats she had been walking with and pushed the glass doors open. She held the door open, waiting for her company to walk through.

"Thank you Adora"Catra thanked as she walked through the door, Finn filing through with her.

"Mhmm"Adora hummed as she let go of the door.

The two continued on their way to the bus stop. The silence that had been lingering around them was still there. Except one of them was finally ready to break it.

"So Adora, why did you decide to become a teacher?"Catra asked.

"Oh, well, I have a friend. Her name's Glimmer. Glimmer has a little sister. When we were teens and her parents had to stay late at work, we would watch and take care of her. Glimmer never really enjoyed it, but I did. And ever since then. I've wanted to work with kids. And I found that teaching was the best way to do that"Adora explained.

"Wow, you sound very passionate about teaching,"Catra said.

"Yeah, I am. I love it. Don't you like your job?"Adora questioned.

"I do. Working for a big writing company like Eternia Post has always been a dream of mine. But working as the owner of the company's assistant wasn't exactly what I had in mind,"Catra mentioned.

"Well, has your boss ever given you some sort of article to work on?"Adora asked.

"Actually, this morning she assigned me a project. Which she wants to be done in two weeks,"Catrina said.

"That doesn't seem like a lot of time,"Adora spoke.

"It isn't. Usually she gives people at least a month to get an article together. But I guess this was just another way for her to mess with me"Catra said.

The two paused their talking as they walked across a street. They continued down the block until they arrived at the bus stop. The three stood there together for a bit before Adora spoke up.

"Does your boss mess with you often?"She questioned.

"She does. And I have absolutely no idea why. She's been like that ever since I got the job. She just really doesn't like me"Catra said.

"She must have really bad judgment. I just met you and you seem like a nice woman Ms.Rodriguez"Adora mentioned, her voice a tad quieter than it had been before.

"Thank you Adora, You seem like a pretty decent person yourself"Catra spoke.

"And, you can just call me Catra"The brunette continued.

Adora opened her mouth to respond but was interrupted by their shared bus pulling up in front of them. Adora turned towards the bus to see that the doors had opened and the bus driver was waiting for the three of them to enter.

"After you Catra"Adora spoke, raising her hand up and signalling for the brunette girl to go first.

Catrina chuckled a bit before helping Fin onto the steps of the bus and lifting herself on as well. Once on the bus, the two magicats stepped aside to allow their blonde accomplice to board the bus with them.

Adora walked up the bus stairs and stopped in front of the machine that was made to deduct money from your smartrip card. The blonde woman dug around in the bag that had previously been on her shoulder in search of her smart chip card.

After searching around for a couple seconds, Adora pulled out her smartrip card. In a quick and swift motion, Adora swiped her card on the machine three times. Once for Catra, another time for Finley, and once again for herself.

With that done the three made their way to a section of the bus, Adora sat down first and Catra sat down next to her. Catrina took a moment to help Finley onto the bus seat next to her. When Finley was securely on their seat, the brunette turned her attention to the other blonde sitting next to her.

"So, Adora, where are you from?"Catra said as the bus started moving.

"I'm from here. Born and raised in Brightmoon City. What about you"Adora questioned.

"I grew up in a small town not far from here. It's been nicknamed the Fright Zone and that's what I've always called it. I doubt you've heard of it though. It's name might sound interesting but it's actually a pretty uneventful place"Catra explained.

"Well, for most people,"Brunette added.

"It sounds like an interesting place, ''Adora spoke.

Catra laughed,"It's boring, nothing ever happens there. It has to be the most uninteresting place on earth"

"If you grew up there Catra, it has to be great"Adora said.

"Now you're just pulling my tail,"Catra spoke.

"No, I'm serious. I've met a ton of parents today and all of them have been bland. But your different Catra. You seem fun and I like talking to you. Plus Finley is absolutely adorable and so well behaved.''Adora exclaimed.

Catra felt herself smile

"What i'm trying to say is, you might just be my favorite parent,"Adora said.

"Well, you just might be my favorite teacher Finley's ever had, granted they've only had 2, but you get the point"Catra said.

For the first time that night, Adora let out a laugh. It was light yet full of joy. And Catra found she wouldn't mind hearing it again. So as the bus continued on it's way, the two women laughed the night away. Chatting about their interests, talking about what they disliked. Sometimes earning dirty glances from other bus passengers for laughing too hard at each other's jokes. But the two didn't care. Turns out they had a lot more in common than anyone would've thought. Catra found that she was really enjoying her time with Adora. She felt like she could stay and talk with her forever. But, unfortunately, she couldn't. As the bus had managed to pull up to her stop.

Catra turned to peer out the window and saw that the Bus had stopped at her destination. With this information in mind, Catrina turned towards the blonde she had been talking with.

"Well, Adora, this is my stop,"Catra spoke.

"Oh, ok, well, I'll see you tomorrow Catra. It was nice talking to you"Adora smiled.

"It was nice talking to you too, Adora. See you later, ''Catra said.

The brunette stood up and stuck her hands out to pick up Finn. They had fallen asleep sometime during the bus ride.

With Finley safely in her grasp, Catra made her way to the front of the steps. She quickly trudged down the steps and onto the sidewalk. The bus doors closed and it started to drive off. In the window, Catrina could see Adora waving to her. Catra lifted her hand off of Finley's back and gave the blonde a wave in return.

Soon the bus was out of sight and Catra started her short walk home. It was peaceful and quiet, as her neighborhood always was. She really enjoyed the place she lived in. And she was glad Finn loved it too.

After a while of walking Catra made it to her front door. Catrina maneuvered her purse in front of her. She dug around in it and pulled out her house keys. She stuck the key in the top keyhole and turned it to the right. She then stuck the key into the bottom lock and turned it to the left. With the door now unlocked, Catra pushed it open and walked inside.

Closing and locking the door behind herself, the magicat trudged up the stairs and into her kids' colorful room. Catrina carefully sat the blonde down on their bed. She removed their red sneakers and placed them next to their bed. She then moved the kids covers and tucked them under the yellow sheets.

She had a feeling she should've woken them up. After all, a nap would re-energize them and make it hard for them to sleep later. But it'd be fine. She'd find a way to help them sleep.

Walking out of her child's room, Catra started heading to her own, wondering what she would do while Finley was Sleeping. She ultimately decided that a shower would be best. So the brunette went on into her room and made a beeline for her bathroom. She removed her clothing like she had done earlier that morning and started to prepare for her shower

About an hour later, The sun had started to set and it was around 6:45 pm. Catra was showered and dressed in a pair of loose grey sweatpants and a white tank top. The brunette was laid across the couch. Scrolling through Netflix, attempting to find something to watch.

Just as Catra was about to give up on searching for something new and just rewatch New Girl for the fifteenth time, She heard footsteps on her staircase. Catrina sat up from her couch to see Finley rubbing their eyes sleepily coming down the stairs. The brunette watched as the little kid went towards their mother. When they had gotten to the couch, Finley hauled themselves up onto the seat next to the mother. Finn settled their head on their mother's lap. Catra reached a hand down to slowly stroke her claws through the Blonde kids' hair.

"Hey Kitten, sleep well?"Catra asked.

She felt Finn nodd on her lap.

"Still sleepy,"Catrina spoke.

"Yeah"Finn whispered, voice still hoarse with sleep.

"Well, are you hungry?"Catra questioned.

"Mhmm"Finley hummed.

"What do you want for dinner, Kid?"Catra spoke.

"Maybe Fishsticks,"Finn suggested.

"With french fries,"Catra said.

"Definitely with Frenchfries"Finley agreed.

"Ok kid, how about while I cook dinner you go upstairs and shower"Catra spoke.

"You can do it on your own, right Finn. You don't need my help, ''she continued.

"Yeah, I can do it Mommy,"Finn said.

"Alright, go on Kid"Catra said, giving Finn a slight pat on the back.

The brunette watched as her child slid off of her body and headed up the stairs, disappearing into the bathroom. With Finn out of sight, Catra stood up from her place on the couch. The brunette walked across the room, to her kitchen. She popped open her freezer and took a look inside. After spotting what she needed, Catra pulled out two items. One being a bag of frozen fish sticks, and the other being a bag of Frozen Frenchfries. She took those bags to her kitchen counter. Catra then moved to the cabinet where she held all her pans. She opened the cabinet and pulled out two square pans usually meant for cake. She stood up and then placed the pans onto the counter as well. She reached over to the small cruet that held vegetable oil right in front of her. She carefully drizzled a generous amount of it onto the two pans.

With that done, Catra removed the clips she had put on the previously opened packages. She emptied a few fish ticks out in one pan. She then put a couple handfuls of French fries in the other.

Catra moved on towards her oven. She pressed the bake button on her electric stove and set the temperature to exactly 450 degrees. She waited there until the oven let out a loud beep. Signalling that it was done heating up. Catrina opened the oven, flinching a little at the wave of heat that hit her, and pushed her two pans into it. As she closed the oven she glanced at the time.

As the brunette started walking away, she made a mental note to take the food out of the oven around 7:03.

Now that all the food was cooking, and Finley was in the shower, Catra settled back on the couch. Grabbing the remote, Catra flicked on New Girl.

To her surprise, she was able to watch a full episode before the sound of tiny feet coming down the stairs reappeared. Catra turned around on the couch once again and glanced at Finn. She could see a few of their damp curls through the hood of the lion themed onesie they had on. Since it was Finn's favorite Animal, Scorpia had gotten them that pair of pajamas for their birthday last year. And Finley slept with it on almost every night.

Catra chuckled as Finn rushed over to her. That shower had waken them up and they were full of energy. Catra was gonna need a miracle to make that kid sleep again.

Catra reached her hands down to Finn who was standing in front of her and pulled them onto her lap.

"I still have no idea why you like this onesie so much,"Catrina spoke.

"Because mommy, it makes me feel like a big cat,"Finley explained.

"But you're already a Cat,"Catra spoke.

"Yeah, but everyone knows Lions are the best Cats"Finn declared.

"Ok, I'll take your word for it, Finn,"Catra said.

"The food's pretty much done, so why don't you find something you wanna watch. Nothing inappropriate. Got it"She instructed.

"Got it mommy"Finlet spoke as they picked up the TV remote.

Catra got up from the couch and trudged back to the Kitchen. She took a hold of the oven mitt hanging on her counter. She slid it on her clawed hand and pulled the oven open. The magicat flinched as a hot gust of air hit her body. She reached towards the Pan full of now golden brown Fish Sticks and pulled it out of the oven. Placing the pan onto the stove, Catra reached back in the oven and pulled out the other pan loaded with French fries. She placed them right on the stove next to the fishsticks.

She removed her oven mitt and sat it down on the counter. She walked towards her cabinets and opened them. She took out two glass plates and two glass cups. She sat the Plates and Cups side by side. Catrina opened the drawer that held onto her utensils and brung out a pair of thongs. Catra spent a few minutes distributing the Fishsticks and French Fries evenly between the two plates. Once that was done, The brunette opened her refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of apple juice, plus a bottle of ketchup. Closing the Fridge, Catra sat the ketchup down and unscrewed the apple juice's cap. She poured the juice into the two cups and then closed the bottle once again. She pushed the juice back into the still open Fridge.

The magicat tried her best to balance all the glasses on her body as she walked back into the living room. She carefully sat down the food and drinks on the coffee table. Sitting down on the Couch, Catra looked towards the TV.

Finn had put on Sofia The First. It was one of the things they had grown up watching. Right now, Finley was sitting with their cheeks in their hands, smiling widely.

"You love this show way too much,"Catra laughed.

"Nonsense Mommy, you can't love Sofia The First

much. It's impossible"Finley spoke,

"Whatever you say Finn"Catra concluded.

The Two spent the rest of the night laughing, eating, and watching Sofia go through her hardships. Finn really was right, It was an amazing show.

Though at some point, Finn had fallen asleep. Again. The excitement of their favorite show seemed to be enough to tire them out. They were slumped against their mother's side. Holding onto her waist. Catrina wasn't doing too well either. She was exhausted. She had a long day. Usually she would be passed out right along with Finn.

But while watching TV with her child, Catra found that she was beginning to be distracted. Her mind continued to wander back to Adora, just as it had at work. There was something so enticing about her. Something so disgustingly familiar. It made her feel like she had before the incident. She knew she should be running away from the feeling, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.

She wanted to keep talking to Adora. She wanted to keep walking with Adora. She wanted to keep Being with Adora.

And as Catra finally let herself close her eyes and settle herself into Finn's embrace, she allowed her thoughts to linger on the blonde.

And she felt herself smile as she slowly faded out of consciousness.
