Chapter 2: The Girl Who Wanders
Vanya
I wake up in a forest. Bright green trees dot my environment as I spot a tree stump, there's a letter on it. I walk over to the tree stump. Pearl white paper wraps around the note as I open it. The letter reads: "mind if you go to her house, but just stay away from the forest. Hope to see you home soon. -Dad"
I was a bit confused but put the letter away into my apron pocket. My blue eyes wandered toward a sign: "House??? Left ← Exit → "
I strolled across a dirt path to the right. This is easy! There's an old and rusted knife on the floor. I pick it up. It's so fragile it could break any second. I approach a patch of huge roses with thorns so sharp they could slice up me up easily. They were too thick to walk through and I could never get through them. I sat down on a rock and thought. What could I do? I can't get through the roses. Not even with the old knife.
...
The house!
I got up from my sitting position and went to the left, passing where I woke up and saw a house in the distance. A small patch of overgrown grass stood in front of me. I used the knife to cut my way through as the knife broke into small pieces. I picked up my pace and met my eyes to the house. It looked like a mansion now that I look at it. It had a coffee color to it with silky red curtains peeking through the crystal clear windows. I shoved my body against the door. It was pretty strong for a door. The door then opened magically , revealing the inside of the house.
I looked around. I was met with a black cat, with vivid yellow eyes. "Yo. Nice to see you again." The cat said. It had a very calming yet neutral voice. I walk to a nearby door and open that one. There's another door. I turn back to head out, to ask the cat for help but there isn't a door. Just a violet printed wall.
There's a vase of roses, they're rather pretty. I stroke their soft petals. They look like they're wilting a little at the end. I open the door in front of me and see a room. No cat. No exit. There's a door to the side, and a long table with plates set and a skull shaped bowl filled with a strange green drink. I stare at the table and pick up a limb of a bear. It looks like it used to be a hand. I put it into my apron pocket. There's a mirror to the side, I look in.
I see myself and shift a little, fluffing out my blonde braids. I blink and see a black haired girl behind me in the mirror. I turn back around...
But nobody is there.
