Chapter 3
After he left, I took a shower and sat on the sofa, drinking my tea.
The tea, the rain along some decent music is a mood.
That's when I recalled the guy who had been to see me earlier. I got out my laptop and began researching the company he mentioned earlier. Well, I realized that the few songs I was listening to belonged to them, and I felt horrible for not recognizing them. But there were seven of them; would four bedrooms suffice? Wait a minute, will they be at ease with me?
I had no idea how quickly time passed. I can't complain since all of their music videos were amazing and well worth viewing. It was merely that I needed subtitles. I used to watch kdramas throughout my school days, but I couldn't finish them since I was too busy. I discovered Namjoon learned English by watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Hats off to him; I'm confident I'll never be able to pronounce a phrase as fluently as he can.
I dialed his number, and he answered right away. He said something to me in Korean that I couldn't comprehend. So I answered by introducing myself as Rose, the female he had met previously. That's when he began speaking English. I assured him I was okay with it and that I only had four extra rooms. He said he'd talk to the boys about it and would call back later, then hung up.
I went to the kitchen after the call and got some cookies to munch on. I was chewing on it when he called again. He told me they had agreed to it and would come by seven a.m. tomorrow. That implied I'd have to get up early the next day.
I was now resolved to learn their names and understand a little about them since I didn't want to appear like an idiot later. I made a point of learning about their culture since I didn't want to offend them accidentally.
I went to bed hoping that at the very least, I would be able to recognize them. However, it is the language barrier that I am most concerned about.
My alarm began breaking my sleep the following morning, as it often does. I sat on my bed, drowsily gazed at the ceiling. It won't harm to get five minutes of sleep. I closed my eyes and surrendered to the darkness once again.
That's when the second alarm went off, and I glanced over to see that I only had fifteen minutes till the minute needle struck twelve. I stumbled out of bed, muttering under my breath, and rushed through my daily ritual.
I sat on the chair and sipped my tea. Tea was a life-giving elixir. I still can't believe some people despise it; I simply don't see why.
"Wow, just five minutes till twelve. I'm pleased with myself." I had finished my drink when I heard the doorbell ring. “I'm guessing it's them.”
I approached the door and carefully opened it. They were standing there. I smiled at them, and they reciprocated. I opened the door just wide enough for them to enter. That's when I realized how little I was in comparison to them.
I ended up making them some orange juice as they were settling down. Despite the agony in my wrist, I managed to hold it and carefully made my way towards them. That's when I saw a hand on my shoulder.
Who might it be?
