They won't even realize it. Cassiopeia knows what it feels like to have total control over a person, knows how to change a person's way of thinking without even using her powers. Manipulation. A tool she uses and has used so willingly to get power. Power is everything to her. Cassia can be compassionate, she most certainly seems to be, however she knows that too much of it will make her appear weak. Cassia can be extraordinarily polite but also has a more sinister side which she shows from time to time. Violence is a language everyone understands in the court of nightmares, a language she has to speak fluently in order to survive and thrive. She has to be at least a little cruel to continue to be respected. Fickle when it comes to morals, there are few things she wouldn't do to get ahead, including changing sides. However, though a liar, Cassia tries to keep her word as much as possible. Promises are not meant to be broken. She will do it, but only if there is no other way. Everything she does, anything she might say, is meticulously planned and carefully executed. She appears smart but makes sure to not reveal the full extent of her intellect. She shows herself to be capable, but not so much as to make others feel threatened. She is the perfect courtier. Deep down Cassia is a dreamer, her head being filled with visions of a brighter and more peaceful future where she and others don't have to lie and steal and cheat to get ahead. The female is set on creating a world in which everyone has the same chances, no matter if they are male or female, high fae or lesser fae.

ＰＥＲＳＯＮＡＬ ＬＩＦＥ

𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 ↳ Cassiopeia, the youngest of three, was born to two high fae from the the hewn city, Auberon and Ceridwen Ferrer. As she was significantly younger than her two sisters who were already married off, she was essentially raised as though she was an only child. She was her parents favorite which was the reason why they took her with them wherever they went. Cassiopeia as it turned out, was different from her sisters and remarkably more powerful. Her father wasn't the only one that noticed that. Soon he was bombarded with offers for her hand in marriage. By comparison she had it better than most. Even though she couldn't chose her husband based on love, her father asked for her opinion on the different prospects. When she requested to stay in the hewn city, he complied and started looking for an influential lord within the court of nightmares. Eventually they found someone, Lysander Derion, a considerably young male of noble birth, whose father was a close advisor to the steward of the hewn city. He himself was already a commander of the Darkbringers and seemed to have a bright future ahead of him. Though they never grew to love each other, they treated the other with the respect they deserved. She wasn't less to him simply because she was a female. As a matter of fact every decision that was made, they made together. It was together that they decided to extend their influence. Though she wasn't interested in power back when she was young and naive, as she matured that changed. When Lysander's father died, her husband got his position in court. He held onto it with the help of his wife, who used her unique abilities to gather information that they otherwise wouldn't have had access to. When the war between faeries and humans started things went downhill for them pretty quickly. At first it didn't look all that bad, however. Keir and his darkbringers, Lysander along with them, left the court to fight for the humans in the name of the high lord of the night court. Very few males stayed in the hewn city and even fewer of them actually held any kind of power. Because of that Cassiopeia quickly became the most influential person in the court of nightmares. Personally, she didn't particularly care which side won, as long as her and her husbands power wasn't in jeopardy. It wasn't until the day Lysander died that it was. Though there had been no such thing as love between them, she grieved. They had been partners, friends. Cassiopeia made sure that all the time they had invested to get and maintain their power wasn't wasted. Once the war was over she became close with Keir, bringing him to make her his first and only female adviser. For years she stood by Keir's side, doing the job her husband and before him his father had done. She was the one to bring Keir the information he needed to rule. The male didn't know or care how she got it. The first two centuries he was actually still the one who ruled. Very rarely she used her powers to get what she wanted. Over the years that changed. The steward of the hewn city became controlling and paranoid. He began pushing her and the other advisers away. His distrust in everyone was starting to severely effect his way of ruling. Just barely Cassiopeia could stop Keir from executing one of the court of nightmares most influential lords. Keir had become unpredictable, which is why she intervened. With her continuous intervention everything got back to normal. The people failed to notice that she became the one who was in control and making all of the decisions. This was the way she wanted it. The high lord change didn't have a significant impact on her or her rule, yet she made sure to keep any sign of her abilities hidden from both Rhysand and his shadowsinger. Centuries later, when Amarantha took over control over Prythian, Cassiopeia like many other lords and ladies was forced to stay and forbidden from leaving the court she set up under the mountain. How, she doesn't know but Amarantha somehow managed to find out about her daemati abilities. The self proclaimed high queen made her to do many unspeakable things. In her name she destroyed the minds of allies, friends and younglings.

Cassiopeia can also alter a persons way of thinking through planting seeds and slowly letting them grow. She prefers to do that instead of fully taking control of a persons mind because doing so is really straining for her. She also really has to focus to do so. Said focus can easily be broken. Even though she rarely does it, she is able to shatter other peoples minds, as seen with the younglings of the winter court. If she wanted to, she could telepathically communicate with others.

Amarantha - Even after her death, Cassiopeia is still deeply afraid of Amarantha, having nightmares about her often.
