Are you and mason still friends
The set had finally wrapped for the day, and Elena let out a deep breath as she stepped out of the building.
The cool Belgian evening air brushed against her face, and she zipped up her hoodie, thankful to be done after hours of intense filming.
Dominic and Justice caught up to her, both looking equally relieved.
"So, food?" Dominic asked, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "I'm starving."
Justice nodded enthusiastically. "There's this local burger place I've been hearing about. Let's check it out."
Elena smiled, grateful for their easygoing company. "Burgers sound perfect. Lead the way."
The trio strolled through the streets of Antwerp, the golden light from the lampposts illuminating their path.
The small burger joint they found was tucked into a quiet corner of the city, with a cozy vibe and the smell of sizzling patties wafting from inside.
They grabbed a booth near the window, the buzz of conversation and the clatter of dishes filling the space around them.
As they waited for their food, Dominic leaned back in his seat and smirked. "Alright, Elena, we need to talk."
Elena raised an eyebrow, amused. "About what?"
Justice grinned, leaning forward on the table. "Who's Mason?"
Elena froze for a moment, her heart skipping a beat. "What?" she asked, trying to sound casual.
"You heard us," Dominic said, his smirk widening. "You've mentioned his name a couple of times when we've been hanging out, and Justice and I are curious. Spill."
Elena rolled her eyes, but her cheeks flushed. "He's just a friend."
"Uh-huh," Justice said, clearly unconvinced. "A friend you keep checking your phone for, even though you try to be sneaky about it."
"I do not," Elena shot back, though she knew they were right.
"Sure," Dominic said, dragging the word out. "So this 'friend,' do you always look that disappointed when he doesn't text back?"
Elena sighed, leaning her chin on her hand. "You two are relentless."
"Because we care," Justice said with a grin. "Now, come on. Who is he?"
Elena hesitated, twirling a straw wrapper between her fingers. "He's... Mason. We've known each other for years. We met when we were filming The Black Phone."
"Yeah we know who mason Thames is " Dominic said, nodding. "Where asking who is he to you whats the deal ?
"There's no deal," Elena said quickly, though her voice betrayed her. "We're just friends. Really good friends."
Dominic and Justice exchanged a glance before turning back to her. "Right," Dominic said. "You're just friends, but he's clearly on your mind. A lot."
Elena didn't respond immediately, instead fiddling with her wrapper. "It's complicated," she admitted softly.
Justice's teasing expression softened. "Complicated how?"
Elena hesitated, feeling the weight of the truth she'd been avoiding. "We've always been close, but lately... I don't know. He's been distant. He barely texts me anymore, and when he does, it's short. And then there's... McKenna."
"Who's McKenna?" Dominic asked, tilting his head.
"She's his co-star in a new project," Elena explained. "They've been posting a lot together, and it's—well, it's hard not to notice."
Dominic and Justice exchanged another look, this one more thoughtful. "Sounds like you're into him," Dominic said gently.
Elena looked up, caught off guard by his tone. "I am," she admitted quietly. "But it doesn't matter if he doesn't feel the same."
Justice reached across the table and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "For what it's worth, if he doesn't see how great you are, he's an idiot."
Elena smiled, a small but genuine expression. "Thanks, guys."
Their food arrived then, giving her a welcome distraction from the heavy topic.
As they dug into their burgers and fries, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, and Elena found herself laughing along with her new friends.
For the first time in a while, she felt a little less burdened by her feelings for Mason, grateful for the people around her who cared.
