The late afternoon light poured in through the windows, casting a warm glow over Elena's living room.

She and Mason were sprawled out on the couch, a cozy blanket draped over them as they lazily scrolled through their phones. Elena's thumb flicked through her Instagram feed before she paused, something catching her eye.

"Wait, I have those pictures of you from last weekend," she said, looking up at Mason with a grin. "I've been meaning to post them."

Mason raised an eyebrow, leaning in. "Pictures of me?" he teased, his voice light. "What kind of pictures?"

Elena chuckled and pulled her phone closer to her face, flipping through her camera roll to find the ones she was talking about.

She stopped on one where he was laughing, completely carefree as they walked around town. She'd caught him in the moment, his eyes sparkling and his smile wide.

"Like this one," she said, showing him the photo. "I think this one's perfect."

Mason glanced at it, a genuine smile spreading across his face. "I look like a goof," he joked, but his tone was playful. "But yeah, that's a good one."

Elena laughed and scrolled through a few more, each one capturing a different side of him: the candid moments when he wasn't paying attention, the quiet moments where he looked at her like the world was right. "And this one," she continued, showing him a picture from when they had been at the beach, the sunset in the background.

"You really like showing off these pictures of me, huh?" he teased, leaning over and nudging her shoulder.

She playfully rolled her eyes. "Well, you look good, so why not share it with the world?"

He chuckled, shaking his head. "You know, you don't have to post pictures of me if you don't want to," Mason said, his voice suddenly a little more serious. "I know it's a big deal, with everything going on."

Elena looked at him, her fingers paused on the screen. She smiled softly. "I want to post them," she said, her tone genuine. "But, if we're going to do this...we should probably let everyone know, right? That we're more than just friends."

Mason stared at her for a moment, then grinned. "I was just thinking the same thing."

"Really?" Elena raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.

"Yeah," he said, nudging her again. "It feels like it's time. I mean, I'm not trying to hide this. Not with you."

Her heart skipped a beat, the warmth of his words making her smile. Elena picked up her phone again, her fingers hovering over the screen.

"So, are we doing this?" she asked, her voice playful but with an underlying excitement.

Mason nodded. "Let's do it."

With a grin, Elena tapped a few buttons and uploaded the picture of Mason laughing, adding a caption that read: "my boy @masonthamesofficial ." She tagged him, and in that instant, everything felt official. No more hiding, no more waiting. It was out there.

She looked up at him, her excitement contagious. "There. Done."

Mason leaned in closer, his smile wide. "Well, guess now the whole world knows," he teased, but there was a flicker of something deeper in his eyes.

"Yep," Elena said, looking at him, the smile on her lips softening. "Now, everyone knows."

And as she met his gaze, she realized how much she'd wanted this, wanted them, to be known—together, finally.

The phone buzzed with notifications almost immediately. Friends began liking the post, commenting, and the rush of excitement was palpable.

But in that moment, as Mason's hand found hers, they both knew this was the first step in something new.

Something real.

Something that wasn't just a secret between the two of them anymore.

Mason squeezed her hand, his voice low and serious. "Thanks for doing this. It means a lot to me."

Elena smiled softly. "It means a lot to me too."

And for the first time, everything felt right.
