Elena sat on the edge of her bed, her room bathed in soft morning light.
The TV was on, playing Abbot Elementary , but her mind wasn't really on the show.
She had been in Belgium for two weeks now, the filming had been intense, and there had been little time to explore.
The days were long, and her interactions with Mason had become sparse.
She couldn't help but notice how frequently he and McKenna were posting together.
It stung a little, but she tried to push those feelings aside.
A knock at the door interrupted her thoughts.
She quickly muted the TV and stood up to answer it.
Dominic and Justice stood outside her door, both with big grins.
Dominic, with his casual style, leaned against the doorframe, while Justice stood with his hands in his pockets, looking ready for an adventure.
"Ready to go explore Belgium?" Dominic asked, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Elena smiled, happy to have some company on her rare day off. "Yeah, let me grab my bag," she said, walking to the side table where her jacket and purse lay.
After a few minutes of getting ready, the three of them made their way out of the hotel.
The streets of Belgium were as charming as everyone had said. The mix of old and new architecture was mesmerizing, with cobblestone roads and quaint little shops lining the streets. The air was crisp, and the sky was a perfect shade of blue.
"So, what's the plan?" Elena asked, walking alongside Dominic and Justice as they made their way down a busy street.
"I'm thinking we find some really cool places to eat," Dominic said with a laugh. "I've heard Belgium has the best fries. Like, the best."
"I'm in for that," Justice chimed in, glancing around with curiosity. "Maybe we should also see the Atomium. I've heard it's this giant structure that looks like an atom. I mean, how could we not go check that out?"
Elena chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Sounds like a plan. Let's do both."
The trio spent the next few hours strolling through the streets of Brussels, soaking in the sights and sounds of the city.
They stopped at a local café where they sampled authentic Belgian waffles and fries—Dominic was right, they were incredible.
They laughed over the mess they made trying to eat without getting syrup everywhere.
Afterward, they made their way to the Atomium, snapping pictures and admiring the futuristic design.
Elena couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder, as if everything around her was both surreal and exciting.
As the sun started to set, they grabbed a quick dinner at a cozy restaurant, continuing to bond over stories from their past, their experiences with filming, and their excitement for the movie.
Despite the growing distance between her and Mason, Elena felt genuinely happy in that moment, surrounded by two people who made her laugh and forget about everything back home.
The day had been exactly what she needed—an escape from the routine, a chance to clear her mind and just enjoy the beauty of Belgium. As they headed back to the hotel, Elena felt a renewed sense of energy, ready to dive back into filming the next day.
