It's a bright and hot monday afternoon and Nandini came out of the electricity department after paying the electricity bill. Since the electricity department comes inbetween her University she had been given the job to pay the bill while coming home.

The days had passed so fast that they didn't even realised their marriage had completed almost 6 months now. Within these weeks Vikram and Sneha got their share of property much to Manik's disheartened. He had hoped that they will back out from this but...

Nandini thought of visiting her parents house today as it was only 1 clock in the afternoon. She have been craving to see them like past 2-3 weeks and today she got a chance.

She took the bus to hee village and on the way she informed Navya abouf her arrival who later informed her mother.

She was listening to some music when she found an old lady entering in the bus. She looked around to see if any seat was available finding none she got up and gave her the seat to sit.

"Thank you beta." Nandini smiled and looked up to see conductor coming so she removed the tickect fare and paid him.

When it was almost 2 she reached her house. Entering inside she immediately hugged her mother tightly.

"Aye mera baccha. Kaisa hai?" She asked running her hand on her hair. Nandini unknowingly shed few tears and with a rough voice said

"I'm fine maa. I just miss you all so much."

"Hey! Kya hua hai? Ro kyun rahi ho tum?" Her mother asked worriedly making her look at her.

"I don't know. Just..." She let out more tears and looked down. She immediately hugged her daughter to calm her down. Navya came inside with water and gave her.

"I feel like guest." Nanduni mumbled getting the vibe of being guest the way Navya was offering hed water and the food they were offering her.

"Chup reh. Kitne dino baad aayi ho aaj aur kitni dubli ho gayi ho. Ghar meib koi dhyan nahi rakhta kya tumhara?" Her mother asked making her chuckle.

"Nahi maa aisa nahi hai. Abhi mera ho gaya hai." Saying so she got up and went to her room to see the condition of it. She sat on the bed remembering her days before marriage. Unknowingly she slept oved there only.

Malhotra House

Almost 8 clock in the night when Manik entered the house. He saw Neonika pacing around the house with worried face.

"Kya hua maa? Aise pareshaan kyun ho aap?"

"Teri Nandini se baat huyi kya? Woh abhi tak ghar nahi aayi hai. Kabse ohone laga rahi hun phone hi nahi lag raha."

"What? Aaj toh uska half day hota hai na? How come she is not at home? Ek minute." His voice panicked only thinking if something bad had happened. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

He tried calling but the phone was coming switched off.  He gog worried and looked at his mother who was hell tensed up.

"Maa aap chinta mat karo, I'll contact her friend."

Ringing thats what he heard when finally on the fourth ring Aarti picked up the phone. When asked about Nandini's where about her replied only made Manik worried.

"Nahi jiju, she had left arpund 12 only. She had informed me that she had to pay electricity bill. Isliye main ghar chali aayi."

"Did she tell you where she will be going after that?"

"No jiju. Infact she had complained about headache so I thought of not calling her today."

"Okay... Thank you."

Tension was building up in his mind with the questions of how he will answer her parents. How will he tell them that he couldn't take care of their daughter.

Tears started breaming in his eyes when he looked at Neonika who was equally tensed.

"Maa, she will be fine na?" He asked with a shaky voice. Unaware what to say she just hugged him. The other family members just arrived in the house when they came to know about missing Nandini.

Around 9 Manik's phone rang. Seeing it to be his father-in-law his heart came in his mouth. He didn't know what to say to him.

"Hello..."

"Hello, Manik beta. Kaise ho?" He asked making Manik gulped down his tears.

"Ji.." he couldn't complete.

"Accha maine yeh batane ke liye call kiya tha ki Nandini aaj yahi rahegi. Uski tabiyat theek nahi hai toh hum use yahi rakh rahe hai." Listening his words Manik was shocked

"Wait what? Nandini vahan hai?" He asked in exclamation voice makibg all alert.

"Haan, usne bataya nahi tumhe? Mujhe laga ki woh bata kar aayi thi."

"Nahi meri aaj usse baat nahi huyi. Usko kya hua? Infact forget it... I'm coming there." He cut the call without waiting for an answer.

"Nandini apne ghar pe hai aur uski tabiyat theek nahi hai. Main vahan ja raha hun." Saying so he left the house and sitting on his bike he rode the bike in full speed.

Here in the Malhotra house Neonika sighed but anger built up knowing that Nandini went there but didn't inform.

Within 20-25 minutes Manik reached Nandini's house and knocked on the door. The doo was opened vy Navya who smiled at him and welcomed him. Without giving any reaction he went to her room where she was lying down with her mother besider her keeping wet cloth on her forehead indicating high fever.

"Manik..." Nandini mumbled seeing him infront of her. Manik sighed and glared at her harshly.

"What do you think of yourself? Bataya kyun nahi ki yahan aayo ho? Na call na message, samajh kya rakha hai mujhe? Atleast mujhe nahi toh maa ko toh bata deti. You know sick worried we were? Tumhari iss laparwahi ke karan pura parivar pareshan ho gaya. Itni toh akal honi chahiye tumhe. Just because I show leniency on you taht doesn't mean you will behave like this."

Nanduni's mother shivered seeing his anger. Mr. Murthy guestered his wife to keep quiet as he didn't want any kind of rift happening among the family.

"Jiju...woh bimar hai." Navya mumbled loud enough for him to inform. He sighed and wiped off his tears that flowed down. Her mother got up and let the couple be together.

Nandini whose eyes were burning already due to fever had turned up more watery after hearing his scolding. He walked up to her and settled besided her.

"You know how scared I was when I came to know that you didn't even reach home? I was literally thinking what to answer to your parents when they ask about you."

"I'm sorry..." She mumbled with heavy voice. He sighed and wiped away her tears and hugged her tightly.

"Stop scaring me Nandini. Agar aisa hi chalta raha na toh I swear tumhe maib kaske band kar rakh dunga mere sath." She hugged him only to notice him being in his office clothes.

She again mumbled sorry and lied down on the bed. Changed the wet cloth when the door opened ajar. There stood Navya peekibg inside.

"Jiju, papa apko bula rahe hai. Main hun di ke paas aap jao." Manik nodded and keeping the bike key and the helmet on the table he walked out of the room.

As he entered the room his father-in-law gave him a smile and made him settle down on the chair infront of him.

"Manik, I'm sorry! Nandini ke vajah se tumhe takleef huyi. Woh kabhi aisa karti nahi hai par aaj achanak woh aa gayi aur sham tak usko bukhar bhi chad gaya. Isliye maine call kiya."

"Papa, aap kyun mafi mang rahe ho? Woh meri kuch lagti nahi hai kya? Biwi hai meri, acchi tarah se janta hun use. Vaise toh mujhe mafi mangi chahiye jaise maine aate hi uspe chillana shuru kar diya. It's just that I got worried aur..."

"It's okay Manik. Don't justify. Jao fresh ho jao aur khana khao. Aur aaj ke kiye yahi reh jao."

Manik was lying down on the bed thinking about what had happened today. Just a mere thought of missing her led so devasted. He sighed and looked at Nandini who was sleeping after taking her medicines.

After 2 days

Nandini entered Malhotra house after almost recovering with Manik beside her. Neonika sighed and wemt into the kitchen.

"Maa gussa hai?" Nandini asked Manik who sighed and said

"Yeah probably. She was so worried. Abhi woh sab chodo aur jao rest lo. I don't want you to be toilibg around. Varna mujhse bura koi nahi hoga." He said sternly warning her making her bob her head.
