☛Interview : Ela ☚
Hi there guys, we are WBW. Today we are at it again. Yes, we brought a new guest for our interview evening. Let us introduce you to our team.
Hi there guys! I am Rabi known as rabisworld02 Pleased that we met again. Today we have our special guest for weekend. She is the most humble and a beautiful girl. Down to earth and doesn't hesitate to put the people at their place. 🤭🤭🤭
Introducing our guest for today...
Welcome Elaboratae
**Applause**
Rabi: Truth to be said, I am so happy that you agreed to this and decided to join us as a guest. Its such a pleasant and joyful feeling for me.
Ela: You're very welcome and I'm honored you considered me as a guest.
Rabi: Let's move toward our first question. How did you come across the fandom named as Army?
Ela: It was in 2017 on the day DNA had dropped which announced on a billboard video. I had an earworm for a week then I decided to cheek BTS out, thought "Oh my, there are so many, let's see which one is which" and boom, five years later here I am :)
Rabi: Aww, it's so endearing. My story is not exactly the same but yeah, it's same. 🤭. How did you come across Wattpad?
Ela: I was writing on wp since 2016, I had been writing germany novels and a school friend had recommended me wattpad.
Rabi: You write on inkitt as well, where did you start writing first?
Ela: I believe it was in 2018, maybe in 2019, it was a bit long ago so I don't remember correctly. So I started on wattpad before inkitt.
Rabi: That's understandable.
From where do you get the motivation to write?
Ela: I'm usually inspired by the most random moments but I mostly write about my dreams and stuff which I would love to read myself which us my biggest motivation
Rabi: Which story of yours has made you proud?
Ela: And the two stories I'm most proudest of are On The Shores and Breakable. OTS is inspired by a Dream I had and it was also the fastest book I have ever written. Therefore it was my favorite but also my most challenging to write concerning all the twists and turns I created.
Second favorite is breakable because honestly I can read it over and over again. I really like Jeongguks Character ans the flow of the story as well as the artistic nature captured in many metaphors.
Rabi: Wow. That's really a good tip for the writers to get ideas. What made you write one of your most famous and great books named as "Flower crown"?
Ela: Haha, it's definitely not my most famous one but I'm happy you mention it. As many know, I'm quite obsessed with the cliche of dark and light, evil and good and hell versus angels. The story of Hades and Persephone is my favorite out of the Greek fairytales and I desired to write an own version myself, like how I imagined the two of them to fall I love as well as bring my readers closer to the Greek mythology.
Rabi: Is there any specific reason behind it?
Ela: Of course as Taekook hehe
Rabi: That's endearing. I also love Greek mythologies but I love to read and search about werewolves. However, moving on.
When you were a rookie writer, what was the most annoying or disturbing thing you came across?
Ela: It definitely was to be compared to more known authors, readers would point out similarities I've never thought of. Another thing to be not encouraged about was at first the lack of interaction which can be challenging. I still struggle with it, especially with the lack of comments. But I can assure everyone that it gets better ! (I hope)
Rabi: I can relate to it. Even though I am not at the stage you are, but still, now I face a lot less of it then I face in the beginning. The same issue happened to me too. However, lets move on towards our next question.
You have a quite fan following, have you ever faced harsh or rude readers? How did you deal with them?
Ela: Of course I have, I got my two old accounts suspended because of haters. It is very annoying and it does not get better. I usually simply delete rude or demanding comments (in a good mood, I tend to snap unfortunately) and if the person is not following me, then they are getting blocked. I usually send followers a warning to not mess with me beforehand.
Harsh readers still get to me and it makes me really upset they behave this way but luckily I have some very amazing readers who take care of them before I see it sometimes because I don't check my messages that often. (Probably should do more)
Rabi: I understand. Before I came on wattpad, I used to write on YouTube, still do. But because of the haters, many of my whole series got deleted. I don't understand their problem. We give them enough warnings in the start, but they don't see it. I hate this.
Ela: Especially the warnings this makes me so angry !! Like if you don't like it, don't read it ?? It's this easy ??
But don't go shit on someone's work, try to write yourself instead first
Rabi: I agree, Moving on, I am your regular reader and I know how you work with your updates. Truth to be said, personally I don't have any issue with it. But I have seen a few if the readers complaining about the voting and commenting goals you set. What do you have to say about it?
Ela: Ah yes, the fun about these goals😂😂.
Rabi: Why am I getting nervous yet dramatic and frustrated vibes from you? 😂😂
Ela: I made it because I was really upset as I felt like my words hit deaf ears so I thought to myself who doesn't want to listen gets the consequences.
It of course also affected loyal and sweet readers who always vote and comment which I'm incredibly upset about.
But the majority was fine with it and it worked but I put it back down because I grew annoyed with some unhappy readers. They never commented before and I've never seen them which made me angry but I put it down because I was tired of receiving backlash.
Because it is frustrating ! Comments are the only payment I get on wattpad and I ask only for some nice encouraging comments because I struggle with my own writing.
If you don't even get that, it feels very hard to move on and continue.
So yes, of course I'm frustrated because that is the worst part of being an author.
Rabi: Seeing you, I also started this voting system with one of my story named as "Blue orchid" but I also faced back leash, therefore removed it.
Ela: They can all shut up, for Christ's sake, we are humans, we do this for free. Of course we want something back in return, just a little.
Rabi: A matter of fact. Have you ever faced writer's block? How did you deal with it?
Ela: I faced writers block so many times, haha. It's completely normal. Usually, it happens for one or more stories but never all of them. If this happens, I let this particular story rest until I find motivation or inspiration again. When it's been a while since the last update, I do a lot of self reflection and also reflect on further plot ideas. In order to regain back control over writing, I like to look for new plot ideas if the elder didn't work out but I believe there are different methods for everyone to regain back their normal writing skills.
Rabi: I agree, any future goal you wanna reach at as a Wattpad writer?
Ela: Become a paid wattpad writer star or be able to become a published author but that I'm already working on with my manager.
Otherwise finish the rest of my on going books.
Rabi: That's good. May you get success. I also see myself been a Wattpad star and interacting with other best writers. Hope I will be successful. I am your huge fan, even though, I rarely get time to comment but I vote. 🥺 Believe me.
I always wanted to talk to you and get to know you. Today when I have this opportunity, I will not let it slip. Are you a multistan? Which group you follow regularly other then BTS?
Ela: Best of luck !
Again, I'm so honored to hear this, really.
Ahh, I'm a multistan
Rabi: Which group you Stan other then BTS?
Ela: Stray Kids, EXO, Ateez, Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet (huge huge fan), somi, wonho, mamamoo, itzy, seventeen. And the others I can't remember. Oh ! And DKB. I love DKB.
Rabi: hahaha, Would you like to share some of your likes and dislikes with us and your readers?
Ela: Likes and dislikes as in personal preferences or writer preferences about readers ?
Rabi: Personal. We want a little sneak peak into your life out of Wattpad.
Ela: For starters, I absolutely love ice cream, it's my favorite in the whole wide world, I love to create jewelry (got my own shop hihi) and be creative. I like tidyness and especially love to organize, I keep my apartment organized in rainbow colors with a rosy theme which I love. And I love flowery dresses but I dislike very hot weather as I cannot handle it. I also dislike loud sounds and large crowds and I absolutely detest deep water. I have thalassophobia so deep diving is nothing for me. I also do not like rude people and cliches.
Rabi: Ahhh, even your likes and dislikes are cute and andearing. That's a long list but I am glad you felt comfortable with sharing it. Do you watch K-dramas? Any recommendations for us?
Ela: I don't watch K-Dramas, I honestly don't need another thing I can obsess about🤣
Rabi: hahaha,
It's the most honest answer I have ever gotten. Your name "Ela" is beautiful, would you like to share the meaning of it?
Ela: It's an old German term and means goddess.
Rabi: It's beautiful and now seems powerful as well. Any special advice for your readers and rookie writers out there?
Ela: Never be encouraged by comments telling you to quit. You should never give up, especially when everything inside of you tells you it's the right thing. Do what you love, you can write for yourself but never give up your dreams. There are people out there who wish to have your courage.
Also, don't mind the haters. Most of them are certainly jealous of your talents and do not know how to express their own frustrations so they reflect them on others. It's not your fault.
For rookie writers: celebrate every little milestone you feel proud of reaching. Also make sure to let your followers and readers know they are seen, loved and appreciated. They give you the reads so you better be thankful for that.
And just, simply, be yourself because that's the best of you and there are always people out there who love you exactly for who you are even if you don't or can't see the good and talents in yourself.
Rabi: I want to keep talking to you but due to time shortage, we have to wrap our interview here. You are an interested person Ela, I got the mature vibes from you. Before we wrap it up, would you first rate this interview our of 10 to let us know how it went?
Ela: Thank you for having me, and I would give this interview a good 8/10, the questions were easy to answer and didn't go too personal and it was great to give advice ro rookie writers!
Curtains fell.
We will be back with more of fun activities and articles for you all to read and follow. Thank you for being our audience. Do stay with us till the next update.
