-𝐈 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒?-𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 #𝟕-

A few months passed, and I grew closer and closer to Shanks, Makino, Uta, and Luffy. They were people who cared about me.

It was a surprise when they found out my name. If I remember correctly, a week after I arrived, I attempted to delay the 'Find Y/n's Information' plan, or as Shanks called it 'FYI'.

 Like I said, I attempted for a week, and it worked for a bit until they decided to do it at night while I was sleeping. Of course, Luffy messed it up by whining that he was sleepy, resulting in me waking up as soon as Shanks grabbed my basket. 

When I sat up to see what was going on, they all stared at me with wide eyes. Luffy was rubbing his eyes, Shanks was holding the basket, not yet open, with Uta hanging from his shoulder and Makino behind them both. I stared at them, wide-eyed until Shanks ran off with the basket in hand, snickering and giggling like an idiot. 

I quickly got up and ran after him. When I found him, he was crouched behind the bar with the basket on the floor and the paper in hand. When he read it, he was surprised for a bit. I was afraid of what he would do when he walked over to me. But to my surprise, when I closed my eyes and waited for a punch, or insult, all I got was a head-pat and the gentle words "..so you had a Daughter, huh? I'm glad I found you, Y/n." His words confused me, but I didn't realize. 

I was..dumbfounded. He put his hand on my head for a second. He didn't even press it down he just, like, rested his hand on top of my head, and I was just thinking.. How could he not hate me? How could this guy not hate me? He had a reason right? My family name, my mother. Those were the reasons, right?.. were they not a good enough reason..? Were those people... wrong to hate me?

Tears started forming in my eyes, soon sliding down to my cheeks, and dripping from my chin to the ground. Before I could snap out of the shock, Shanks lifted me up into his arms, carrying me like a child. I held onto his shirt, holding it tightly as I cried softly with relief. The relief of having someone that accepted you, the relief of having comfort again, the feeling of having someone you can trust, the relief of having a friend again.. 

✧━𝙴𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚁𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚙━✧

Today, I woke up normally, had breakfast with Luffy and the others, played with Uta and Luffy (more like tried to ease their arguments) on a hill, and later went back down the hill when Makino called. 

"Now Y/n, say goodbye to Shanks and Uta." Makino said from behind me. I watched as Shanks got off his boat with Uta on his shoulder. 

"..Shanks, where are you going?" I asked Shanks as I looked at him.

"Oh.. just on a little trip."

"Oh.. Shanks, Uta, I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, N/n.." he said as he called me by the nickname he made up.

"Shanks, will I see you again?"

"Of course you will, I'll be coming back." Shanks responded, smiling his usual smile.

"Uta, I'll really miss you. You'd better come back, we still have a lot to talk about." I said to Uta. She smiled, "Of course Y/n. I can't wait to see you again!"  And soon after, they boarded the ship.

And with that, Shanks and Uta, along with their crew and ship, left for new adventures.

"..n.." 

"Y/.."

".. y/n.."

"Y/N!!"  I frustratedly squinted my eyes open, only to find Luffy standing right next to my hammock, an impatient expression on his face. 

"Yes, Luffy?" I asked, my voice groggy, sounding more like a murmur. "Do you know how long I've been calling you? I'm bored!" he said, his voice booming into my ear as he yelled. "..What do you want to play?" I asked, watching as his face contorted from frustration to pure excitement. "Really?! You mean it?" he asked, stars in his eyes as he looked at me. "..Well, why not?" I sighed. In reality, I wasn't a morning person, in fact, I hated waking up in the morning, especially when I'm woken by someone and not myself. 

"Then can we play 'Hide and seek'?" He asked, his eyes shining brightly as he started at me. "Sure, why not?" "Yes! Okay, you're going to count then! Count to 10!" he said, and before I could protest, he was already gone. I sighed, 'Geez.. He's really growing on me, he reminds me of Hima.' I thought as I smiled and walked over to a tree. I put my arm on it and pressed my head against my arm, closing my eyes, I began to count.

... 

"And...Ten! Ready or not, here I come!" I yelled as I ran off to find Luffy. 

Luffy was often very clumsy and couldn't be quiet for too long, so I knew it was only a matter of time until I heard something coming from his direction, wherever he was. 

Not even 5 minutes after, I heard shuffling behind a bush. I turned my whole body towards it, and slowly walked up to the bush. 'Heh.. Well Luffy, you didn't last long.' I thought, a smirk making it's way to my face as I placed both my hands on the bush and swiftly separated it into two parts, expecting to see luffy behind it. I could already see his shocked face and could barely hold myself back from laughing.

The laughter stuck in my throat as I looked up, sweat ran down my face and neck as I held eye contact and nervously smiled, the blood draining from my face. 

A giant boar stood right in front of me. 

It's not that I was scared. I had faced these things before back in my island. The issue was, I faced them with Hima and Ariya. I was currently alone. 

I slowly but steadily moved one foot back, just like how I'd always done when I found myself in such a situation in the past. As I put one foot back, the boar took one step forward, following my movements. I jumped when the boar suddenly blew steam from its nostrils, startling me. I heard fits of muffled giggles and slowly turned my head. Near a house, one of the three barrels, the middle one to be exact, moved ever so slightly. I could see a small hole on it that was directed right where me and the boar were. Luffy was watching everything. 

'Luffy you little.. I guess this is kinda funny. Laugh all you want.' I thought, a pout forming on my face as I glared at the barrel, the sound quickly stopped, and I turned to look at the boar. 

Suddenly, it glared at me, its eyes shining in fury as it started into my soul. It blew steam from its nostrils once more, angrier this time. It lifted its hoof and hit it hard back on the floor. I knew what was coming next. 

It charged. It charged at me full speed. I was lucky for dodging, had I been one second late and I would've been sent off to the unknown. 

I turned my body and, with a strong pump on my legs, I ran. Sweat running down the side of my face out of fear as the boar chased after me. My hair flew all around me as the wind pressure of me running blew on my face. 

'What did I even do to make you mad?! Stop chasing me!' I yelled in my thoughts. 'It's too early for this dang it! Luffy, this is your fault!' I added, my eyes searching desperately for somewhere I could hide to escape from the beast. 

Suddenly, the heavy and loud beating of the boar's hooves on the ground was fading, almost like if it was moving away from me. I turned my head slightly to see if it was still chasing me, it ended up moving away from me and going toward the barrels. Relief washed over me as I slowed down, my legs killing me. Only for panic to take control again as I remembered Luffy. He was in the barrels. 

"LUFFY! GET OUT OF THE BARREL!" I yelled, desperation taking over me as I stared at where the boar was going. He was targeting Luffy, as if he knew he was there. 

"Y/N! I CAN'T GET OUT, IT'S STUCK!" He yelled back. The sound of fear coming from his voice was enough to drown me into more panic. I felt so helpless. My friend was about to be killed by a boar and I couldn't do anything about it. 

"LUFFY!" I screamed, my voice dripping in worry. 

'If only I could make this boar disappear away from Luffy..' I thought, and time seemed to stop as I closed my eyes, adrenaline coursing quickly through my veins.

... 

I opened my eyes, and froze when the boar was nowhere to be seen. But where the boar once stood, was a giant white hole, seemingly a portal. I ran over to the barrel where Luffy was and grabbed a crowbar to open the top. Somehow, Luffy wanted to make sure no one would know he was in the barrel and closed it a bit too tightly. The barrel fell over, and Luffy, without giving much thought after falling on his knees along with the barrel, ran and clung to me, crying. 

"..Hey, he's gone now, don't worry. As long as I'm here with you, no one will ever hurt you." I said, trying to ease his mind after a near death situation. 

I had been through many of these situations. And I knew better than anyone that he needed comfort and reassurance right now. 'I'm sorry Luffy, I'll protect you and make sure you never go through a traumatizing situation, I'll make sure you never go through what I went through.' I promised myself in my head. Just the thought of having Luffy go through what I had gone through was sickening. Never would I allow that to happen. 

I looked at where the portal was, and realized it was still open. I looked inside and it was pure white, it seemed to go on and on endlessly, forever. 

The weird thing was that the boar was nowhere to be seen, and I suddenly began feeling fatigued, as if energy was leaving my body. 'What is this? Is it a portal? Like the ones Hima would tell me? I hope it leaves soon..' as soon as the thought of it leaving came to my mind, the portal quickly grew smaller and disappeared into thin air, and I felt my energy stop escaping from me as it disappeared. 

"..Hey Y/n, where do you think that portal came from?" Luffy asked, his cheeks still wet from the tears but he seemed to have calmed down from the near death situation we just went through. 

"I don't know Luffy.. where do you think it came from?" I asked back. He stopped and pondered for a second, then spoke again. "What if that boar had powers?" He asked, his eyes glistening in the sunlight. It took a moment for me to sear the words into my head and think about them. 'A boar with powers..? That's..

..

..

..

..

..

.. 

..

..

..

..SO COOL!' As the question fully developed in my head, my eyes turned into stars as I looked down at him. "That would be so cool! Don't you think?" I asked Luffy, grinning like a child in a candy store. "I think so too! Shishishi!" He giggled his adorable laugh, then he spoke again. "Y/n, what if you were the one who summoned that portal?" I looked at him and smiled. "I don't think it was me, Luffy.. I don't have powers." I explained, and it was true, never in my life had I ever obtained anything like powers. "Oh come on Y/n, you won't know if you try!" He urged, "And even if it wasn't you, nothing will happen if you do try. Plus, I really wanna see it again!" "Well, I guess I could try since you want to see it so much.." I gave in in the end. His eyes were too much for me.

I let him go, turned around, and faced the floor. Then, I extended my hand and closed my eyes. '..breathe in.. and breathe out..' I thought, following what my thoughts said and, very slowly and slightly, I could feel my energy slowly seeping out of me. Suddenly, a bright light could be seen through my eyelids. As I opened my eyes again, I saw the portal. Newly opened, right where I imagined it would open up. 

"Woah, Y/n! You opened it again!" Luffy yelled, his voice booming with excitement as he looked at me. 

I was, once again, dumbfounded. I had never had any powers, neither had I ever heard about children obtaining them. Why did I have them? When did I get them? Did they develop because Luffy was in trouble and I wanted to save him? Or have I always had them? So many thoughts racing through my head, and yet, the only thing I could muster was

"I have powers?"
