i try to be grateful for the things we take for granted
legs working and eyes seeing
but jesus christ it's hard

every day you see a sky that is so blue that only blood can be more red,
grass that is so green that only a sick persons face can compete.
you can't imagine a colour you haven't seen before,
aren't you glad you can see?

do you know that feeling, running so fast you feel invincible,
having your secret race with the wind?
and even tho the wind wins every time,
aren't you glad you have legs?

you hear the birds on a summer breeze
you hear the owls whistling in a dark forest's night
isn't this beautiful? aren't you glad you have ears?

i know it's hard, but aren't you grateful? just between us, aren't you glad to be alive?
