lee is a spicy, sweet french girl with a fire in her heart. she's confident and is unafraid to be herself, no matter the cost.
she's a hopeless romantic who fantasizes about a perfect love. she's well aware that obviously love isn't perfect and all of that other jazz, but the little romance stories her mother used to always read to her sure did have a long lasting effect in what she considers boyfriend material, for sure. yeah, whatever, she might kiss or hug or cuddle anybody who wanted to (she's a very touchy and affectionate person in general) but to actually date somebody? the standards are high.

léa has a pretty good sense of humour and loves a good prank, but was always accused as a kid of never being able to 'take a joke'. it's because of how inherently hotheaded she is. lee gets angry and upset pretty easily, actually. it's not that she can't take a joke, it's just that she's emotional and very... over the top sometimes. she takes a lot of things to heart, really. so certain things just make her mad very easily.
she's become increasingly irrelevant in redwood falls, and is kind of upset about it. at first, she really liked all do the attention that they gave her. she was new, she had an accent, everyone seemed to want to get to know her! and then, suddenly nobody really cared about the new girl anymore and her lunch table became increasingly smaller. she liked the attention, and wishes she knew how to get it back. as a pretty talkative and bubbly extrovert, the fact that she doesn't have that many people to constantly talk to anymore sucks!

while she's somebody who takes lots of things to heart, she's also snappy and sassy, and somebody who will always speak her mind. sometimes, she just doesn't have a filter, you know? it pairs well with how easy it is to anger her and how much she talks. honestly, she has a bit of a mouth on her and she swears a lot when she's upset or irritated, and her jokes become less funny and more mean. you can definitely tell when she's angry by her constant eye rolls and jabs.

léa has always been a rebel, and an adventurous spirit with tons of energy and defiance. she never really liked to abide my all of the rules, but usually just did it anyways. however, she's skipped school and done a few bad things just because she likes the thrill of doing something that's not allowed. of course, isn't that why every kid acts up from time to time? to her, the rules are just... boring, sometimes. she likes to go on adventures and do fun, new, and exciting things. her mom used to call her reckless, but really she's just always been curious.
while lee isn't afraid to stand up for herself and others, she is sweet to anyone she deems deserving. she can be a huge softie, even despite the sassiness and sarcasm that is usually inevitable if you want to be her friend. she teases people she likes, actually. about literally anything, but soft teasing and being touchy is generally her love language.
she's always been very athletic, and is a fencing prodigy almost. it was the one sport her mother could afford for her to keep doing when she was younger, so she got really really good at it! her favourite thing is to beat people in sword fights. she hates losing.

the fact that léa likes girls and a specific one very close to her in america is probably the biggest secret she's ever had. sure, she knows that others have the same attractions that she does (she's seen it in the hallways in the last couple of months) but honestly... she knows that if anyone discovers her, especially her only friend, her time in america would become... hellish. she wouldn't be so sure about staying anymore if people knew that about her.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃
lee grew up in the town of toulouse with four siblings. all were much, much older than her because her mother decided to have an affair with some hotel clerk at least ten years after they were all born. the family drama started the second that she was conceived.
it was a messy divorce that took years, even, once her 'father' managed to even find out that she wasn't his. her siblings, all mostly gone and out of the nest by then, were never really in touch with her. the toddler didn't quite understand why 'daddy' kicked them out one day, but she did understand starving for a few months before her mother got a new job and some money for an apartment.
life went on rather smoothly after those rough first four years. lee sought the best grades and the best sports programs as a kid, and never really realized until later how much strain that put on her single mother. she's very proud of her mom, for getting both of them through that rough time. sge usnt proud of how she was born, sure, but either way she believes her mither has changed. of course, her mum's next boyfriend was a dick and was very uncomfortable, which led to léa searching for any possible way out of the house. lo and behold, the year long exchange program that would let her live out her junior year at somebody else's wonderful home.
she misses her mom, but not the environment that her now step dad brought to the home. she likes it better in america, actually.
