Chapter 7

A/N: I know this may be confusing but I'm going to write in 3rd person because I'm better at it. It'll still stay in like Aizawa's PoV and stuff if that makes sense. I'm sorry but I wasn't bothered to edit this chapter.

Aizawa's PoV:

Aizawa, Todoroki and Hizashi are travelling home from school when the heterochromatic boy gets a phone call. He pulls his phone out and his eyes flash with fear. Upon answering the call, shouting fills the car and Todoroki flinches. The two older men give each other worried looks.

"Shoto, what is the meaning of this!?" A deep, angry voice shouts from the other side of the phone.

Endeavor. "What do you mean?" Todoroki replies as calmly as he can.

"Stupid Child Protective Services visited the house today and said there were allegations of child abuse." Aizawa internally smiles and Todoroki stays silent. "I can't believe this, Shoto. I want you back right now. I do not like the way you're acting."

Aizawa's smile morphs very quickly into a frown and he reaches over for the phone, snatching it from Todoroki's grasp. His voice hitches as Aizawa brings the phone to his ear, ready to rip the old man apart but he keeps his cool. "Hello again, bastard. Todoroki will not be returning home to you. He's staying with me until we get your sorry ass in jail, you got that? Todoroki will be kept safe as long as I'm around," he says cold and sharp.

"Do you really think you can get me in jail? Hahaha, that's very funny. I'm a pro hero with a successful agency. I make millions. I can bribe the police, the CPS, the court of law. You aren't going to win this battle, Aizawa, not this time," he says with vengeance.

"That's more reason for you to go to jail. Trying to bribe the court of law? That's an illegal act."

"It doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that All Might is beaten, and I take the number 1 hero spot," Endeavor says defiantly.

"You wish." Aizawa scoffs and abruptly hangs up. He calmly hands the phone back to a shocked Todoroki.

The car ride is silent the rest of the way. Aizawa stays in his thoughts, in his bubble, trying to pursue the idea of getting Endeavor into jail. To save his student. Aizawa had experienced his own fair share of abuse as a kid though it was never inflicted on him. He watched the endless disputes, harsh and powerful his entire life. The quick 'no's that turned into a childs fight in the kitchen. How his mother left him when he was 14, leaving behind her scared, broken child and an abusive husband. Of course Aizawa was happy to see his mother get free but from that day, his father's sanity slowly slipped as he fell into a pattern of drinking and bring home girls. Soon, they were on the brink of getting evicted as they'd missed their rent multiple times. Aizawa wanted out of the house. He wanted to run away but he couldn't. No matter what, he still loved the man who ran the house, who made him do the cooking and cleaning.

Everything changed when the landlord showed up to their house one day with the letter, saying they had to leave. The two family members moved in with their kind and caring aunt who knew more about Aizawa's dad than he did. She put him into rehab and soon his addiction stopped and he tried to find ways to makes it up to his scarred son and to give them a living once again. Over the next two years, he slowly forgave the man for his cruel behaviour. When the news about his mother's death came out, Aizawa's father tried to not fall back into his ways, to stay the nice, loving father he'd been trying to be, but he ultimately failed, quickly slipping back into alcoholism. The two who had just risen above the poverty line quickly fell below again.

Luckily, Hizashi felt something wrong was with his best friend and through hard work, saved the boy from his home and sheltering him in his own. The two spent their final year in U.A. together and surrounded by friends. Feelings grew within the two which soon blossomed into an amazing relationship. Aizawa would say he's happy with where his life is now and having not contacted the man who claims to be his father, he feels free to enjoy his life. To live.

The three pull into the garage of the apartment and Aizawa looks behind him at a sad looking Todoroki and an idea pops into his head. "Hey, kid, do you like ice-cream?" he asks.

Hizashi smiles widely. Todoroki looks up with cold, emotionless eyes. He responds with the mouth that has never smiled before, "I'm not sure. I've only had it once or twice and that was when I was younger."

HIzashi pulls into their car spot. "How about we get some big ice-creams and go on a shopping spree!" Hizashi squeals excitedly.

"We are not going on a shopping spree, you got that?" Aizawa snarls.

"Oh, come on! It'll be so much fun," Hizashi pleads childishly.

Aizawa looks at Todoroki who has a hint of longing in his eyes. he sighs and nods his head. "Fine. But I'm not trying on any clothes, you got that?"

They climb out of the car and head up to the apartment, changing into comfortable clothes. Aizawa sports black jeans and a loose white shirt with black trainers. Todoroki wears a baggy cream jumper, black jeggings and black with orange patches ankle shoes. Hizashi's hair is half tied up in a bun while the rest hangs loosely over his shoulders. He wears a light pink-red undershirt with a red jacket over the top. He also wears loose old mauve coloured pants with dark grey boots.

They leave the apartment block, picking up some chocolate from the vending machine on Hizashi's wish. They walk along the crowded streets, people buzzing around them. Many holding unhappy expressions. They near the red and white themes ice-cream shop. The line outside is small and the smell wafts their way.

Hizashi pulls Aizawa and Todoroki quickly to the cue, babbling on about how good the ice-cream tastes. The shop is called Massimo and it has an amazing reputation. Aizawa especially loves getting the Hazelnut and Coconut flavour. The hazelnut reminds him of Ferrero Rocher, his favourite chocolate and the coconut is creamy and tastes like heaven. Both of them together is like a new creation.

Todoroki glances past the people in front of them and at the ice-cream flavours, staring intently. As the cue grows behind them, it shrinks in front of them until they are in front of the scooper. They order the ice cream, Aizawa getting his usual, Hizashi ordering mango and vanilla and Todoroki getting chocolate truffle. They amble towards the mall. The place Aizawa despises with every part of him. It's noisy and there are little kids being annoying.

Once they make it to the mall, Hizashi forces the two into a mens clothing store despite the protests from Aizawa. Hizashi looks at the clothes excitedly as he pulls things out and sees if he'd look good in them. Aizawa hates to admit it but seeing his husband smiling so brightly and enjoying himself is like caffeine to him. It brings so much joy to him. They don't last long in the shop as the clerk kicks them out for being too loud. As the loud hero sulks outside for not being able to buy the plaid shirt he'd found, Aizawa spots a commotion near the fountain. He spots flames licking the air.

He leaves the two and towards the commotion, only to see the very one he was trying to put in jail, being surrounded by fans seeking autographs. His blood boils as one question runs on repeat through his mind. How can he act so... normal, knowing what he has done to Todoroki? A gentle hand finds its way onto Aizawa's shoulder. Looking to his right, he sees a face quite contradictory to the gentle hand. Hizashi sports a harsh gaze, looking ready to kill, the same as Aizawa feels inside. Todoroki stands to his left, looking calm – well, that's what he looks like at first glance. Past the façade, he sees fear and pain crushing the boy. It breaks Aizawa, knowing that he's been through stuff and he can't do anything to help for as long as Endeavor still controls him.

They catch Endeavor's attention and his piercing red eyes spot Todoroki. A menacing smile plasters on his face and Todoroki stumbles backwards a step. Aizawa, realising that Todoroki needs out of the situation, orders Hizashi to distract him and do what's necessary to keep the boy calm while he beats up the stubborn man. Endeavor pushes through the crowd, little kids somehow still eager to get autographs. His eyes are trained to the back of Todoroki's head as he scurries to safety.

Aizawa fakes cough, gaining his attention. Endeavor's gaze is harsh, cold and stubborn. Aizawa holds his unwavering determined expression. "You have explaining to do," Aizawa orders with frozen venom.

"I don't think we need to. We both know I'll win," Endeavor retorts.

"Oh, really? We are talking about the ultimate level of law. The fact you believe you can get away with what you are doing is absurd. If it was possible, many would have done it. And if they don't take your bribe, they know you are breaking the law. Face it, you don't stand a chance."

"You don't have proof."

"Todoroki is our proof. We are taking you to the court of law and you are going to jail."

Endeavor's eyes flash over with an unseen emotion – fear. He storms away, not wanting to face reality. Aizawa smiles proudly.

By the time the three arrive home, the thought has passed through his mind many times as he realises that photos must be taken of the damage Endeavor did to Todoroki. It's a conversation, nor a situation that anyone wants but knows it is necessary for the case to move in the right direction. Todoroki said he'd make dinner that evening for the three and Aizawa took the opportunity to drag Hizashi into their bedroom to have a serious conversation about the matter.

"Hizashi, it's time we do it. We need to move the case forward," he says vaguely, not wanting to directly say it.

"Time for what?" He asks bluntly.

"It's time to collect proof of what happened to Todoroki. We need photos."
