"Let's just get our business done with." I say.
"You don't seem overly thrilled to work with your old man." He says.
"You're not my old man- you made that clear." I say.
Please, let's not relive this. We only have one mission. I would rather complete it, so I won't have to deal with you again. I feel the earth crying out in pain. The roots are being burned. Something is up.
"How has your... magic been? Have you learned to control it?" He asks.
I jump. I look at him.
"What? Why bring that up?" I ask.
"Why wouldn't I bring this up?" He asks.
"Please, don't do this." I sigh.
"Do what Hector?" He asks.
"Act like you are so concerned." I hiss.
"I am." He says.
"If you were, would you have left me so?" I ask.
"I..." He looks down.
"Yeah, yeah, save it." I say.
Ibis groans loudly.
"Is he okay?" He pats Ibis head.
"Fine, just doesn't like it when we go out so emotionally." I say.
"Alright." He says.
Anubis and Seth growl. I toss meat to them.
"We must close the Hail of Fire." He says.
"You still have not yet explained to me what that is." I say.
"It is hard to explain with mortal words." He says.
"Is anything mortal just too hard for you, including me?" I raise an eyebrow.
He stops and looks up at me.
"Do... do you honestly believe I hate humans?" He asks.
"No, but honestly, I don't know." I say.
"I don't hate humans, and I don't hate you." He says.
"Okay, okay, maybe I pushed that." I hiss.
Maybe you don't hate me. Maybe you didn't mean to leave me, but you did. For thirty years, I had to work with myself. However, I'll hear you out. Until we get this done, we're done. You go back to the forest, and I go back to my life.
