I draw back. I feel blood leaking out. Varian drops the sword. I move my hand across my chest. It's a small cut. Honestly it feels like a paper cut. It doesn't even sting that much. Althael jumps down to us. Oh great, I would have picked a more secluded spot if

"I... I..." Varian looks like he's crying.

"Why are you crying?" I cross my arms.

"I hurt you!" He cries.

"Okay, first of all, you really need to work on your swings. Second, the only way to fight off an opponent is to put them in the ground- for good." I pick up his sword.

"That can't be the only way." He says.

"You've been hanging out with the princess for too long." I sigh.

"Hold on Hector, you have a point, but everyone deserves a second chance." Rapunzel walks over.

I glare at Althael.

"Some don't." I hiss.

"Let me at least fix the wound." Althael reaches for me.

"It'll heal on its own." I push off of him.

Varian grabs me. I look down at him. Whoa... he was really crying. I let out a breath. Somehow, I don't think yelling would be the right motive here. The wound doesn't hurt at all. I've gotten worse wounds. Yet... I suppose for a child to shed blood is more than I can ask. I put my hand over his head.

"Seriously, you need a tougher skin kid." I say.

"I... I know." He sniffs.

I look at Althael. I let out another breath.

"Fine, heal away." I say.

"Thank you, Hector." He places his hand over my wound.

I see the glowing light as it was long ago.
