I punch a tree.
"Dammit!" I yell.
I hate you! I grip my head. I never thought of hearing his very name again. I slam my sword into a tree again. Why can't I be rid of you?! I grip my head. No, no, no. It's in the path. He doesn't exist. He doesn't... he doesn't love me. He... he...
"Hector!" I hear a yell.
I turn. I let out a breath. Great, I'm sure Rapunzel's heard about it. She's going to ask me.
"Why are you dragging Horace around?" I ask her.
"Horace! My name is Eugene." Horace yelps.
"Not my problem." I shrug.
"We heard about... Xaiver. He should never have bothered you." Rapunzel smiles.
I cross my arms.
"Do you make a habit of bothering other people?" I ask.
"I told you blondie..." Horace whispers to her.
The small lizard glares at him.
"Listen, it's fine. Just let bygones be bygones." I say.
I turn.
"Wait!" Rapunzel yells.
I turn to her.
"Why don't you have dinner with us?" Rapunzel asks.
"Come again?" I ask.
"Blondie... this feels like a bad- oof!" Rapunzel kicks Horace in the stomach.
"Dinner? With... you?" I raise an eyebrow,
"Well not just me my family. You seem like you could use the... happiness." Rapunzel smiles.
"No thanks. I'll pass." I turn.
I hear her dart in front of us.
"Please??" She gives me puppy eyes.
I glare at Horace. Dinner? Seriously? Have you forgotten I nearly tried to kill you twice? Well, the second time was an accident, but still. Have you not met me? He draws back. The little lizard jumps onto my shoulder. I grimace. He tugs my braids.
"... Fine." I flick him aside.
"Yay! You'll be so happy." She smiles.
Happy? Hmh. Right... happy. What would've made me happy has long died out. I don't do this whole feelings and happiness thing. My happiness, along with my dreams died thirty years ago
