Come on Ellie pull yourself together, don't let them see, don't let them know, don't let them in. I told myself as I entered the dining hall. I put on a fake face and didn't even bother to get a plate.
"Hey what happened? Are you going to get food?" Sam asked when I sat down.
"No I'm not hungry, and nothing important, she just told us to not talk in class again" she lied.
"Where's Mateo?" Hugo asked a little concerned, which was surprising.
"I don't know" I replied feeling a little guilty.
"How do you not know you were with him!?" Asked Hugo harshly.
"Ok well I maybe yelled at him and then I don't know where he went" I say quietly.
"Eh He'll be fine" Enzo says shrugging. The others agree quietly, except Hugo seemed pissed and would probably hold a grudge. I don't care though he can hate me for all I care, but I shouldn't have yelled at Mateo, it was just another thing that I did wrong.

After lunch everyone had free time me and the boys decided to go out to the grounds where there was a big tree. But kitty and Charlie had beaten them to it, Kitty was sitting in the lowest part of the tree, and Charlie was doing pull ups on one of the branches.
"Damn Charlie" I said impressed.
"Yasss get it" Carder encouraged ridiculously.
"Hey guys how has your day been going, mines been good except some right wing girls tried to jump me but Carder saved me" Kitty laughed swinging her legs.
"What did the bitches look like?" I asked wondering if it was Angelica.
"Well there were three girls one was Cassidy, one was her dumb friend Becky, and the other one I haven't seen before, she had black and red braids and was very tall" Kitty says thinking. I curled my fists, not only had Angelica betrayed her but she also tried to hurt my friend, that was to far.
"I'm gonna go beat her up" I say walking towards the Academy
"No you're not" Sam says spinning me around by my shoulders.
"I'm going to find Mateo" Hugo says plainly.
"Yah good idea, Jack you should go to" Sam says looking a bit concerned.
"Why are you all so worried, I mean I may have hurt his feelings when I yelled at him but..." I slowly stopped talking as Sam and Enzo gave each other a look.
"What's going on?..." I asked confused.
"Nothing we just have stuff we need to clear up, so we will see you later, ok? Yah" Sam says before walking off with Enzo and Carder. I was left confused with why the boys were lying to me, and what they were lying about.
"Well that was explanatory" says Charlie sarcastically, dropping to the ground.
"It's ok you have us, we can keep you company" Kitty said sweetly. Charlie looked and smiled at Kitty, giving her a look, a look of total love! Charlie liked Kitty!! This is crazy, how could I miss it.
"Thanks but I want to know why they're lying, ok and another question I have is why is everyone so afraid of Mateo and Hugo? I can see why people are afraid of Hugo, but Mateo is not scary" I ask leaning on the tree.
"That's not my business to share, yes everyone in the school knows, but I have a feeling that the boys will want to tell you themselves" Charlie says sighing. I couldn't be getting mad at them for keeping secrets when I had about a million secrets that I will never tell. I closed my eyes feeling my arm that stings to the touch. There was a group of 4th years playing with a ball in front of us, one of them threw it to far and it landed in the top of the tree above us. The kids were looking at it sadly, and I really didn't want to go get it but for some reason I took off my blazer and jumped grabbing a branch.
"Ellie what are you doing?" Kitty asked.
"Getting the ball" I said swinging my legs to another branch.
"Ellie get down, you're going to hurt yourself" Charlie said as if she was talking to a child. I ignored her, I stood up on the branch barely balancing, I jumped and grabbed a higher branch, I used the trunk to climb up on the branch. I climbed up and up until I was right under he ball, I reached holding onto the branch for dear life. As I grabbed the ball and wiggled it out from the two branches I slipped and just managed to grab a branch before plummeting to the ground. I let out a shaky breath and climbed down. The kids cheered and thanked me for getting the ball back. Charlie saw that I almost fell and was not happy.
"Why are you so smart but so stupid?" She asked.
"I get asked that a lot actually, and I don't have an answer" I say grabbing my blazer.
"Well at least I know that you have the grip strength for an Avis rider" Charlie says. I smile.
"How did you get so good at climbing trees?" Kitty asks.
"When you have a clumsy little sister that likes to play with kites you have to climb a lot of trees" I say remembering more than seven times where I had to rescue Abby's kites from a tree.

The next class I had was magical creatures with Kitty. The classroom was filled with plants of every color shape and size, and the only light was the light coming from the sun. As people started to enter the classroom I heard a horse's hooves on the stone. Then a tall bald man with a long beard and a black sweater walked in, but what was weird was that the hoof sounds were coming from him. I looked over the deck and gasped, his whole bottom half was a horse. He was a Centaur. A half man half horse, he was horse until his human torso started where the neck was supposed to be. I leaned what they were from the Percy Jackson book series, years ago.
"Ms Quinn it's rude to stare" the centaur says not even looking at me. I was astonished.
"Sorry professor" I said slowly.
"It's ok I get stared at a lot" he said smiling the wrinkles showing around his eyes.

The class started and it was fine until Angelica slammed through the door five minutes late.
"Is there a reason why you are late?" Professor Clutterbuck asked calmly.
"I- well- I'm... no" she said looking down.
"You may sit" he said and continued teaching. When Angelica realized that they were in the same class she scoffed and rolled her eyes. It was taking a lot to not turn around and beat the shit out of her. I didn't realize that I was bending my pencil until it snapped.
"Ellie calm down you'll get your chance" Kitty whispered reassuringly. I sighed and grabbed another one. This is going to be a fun class.

My next class looks boring, Magic history, ew. My next class had none of my friends but in fact all of my enemies. Cassidy, her boyfriend, I think his name is Chad, Angelica, Becky, even Noah, what is this? Does the universe hate me or something?!?!? I thought as I sat down. The professor was short and plump with gray curly hair, she looked like she would offer you cookies and milk if you went to her house, in other words she looked stupid. The class started and Noah came in late and of course the only seat open was next to me. I actually would be okay if I died right now, I don't know how this could go any worse. He looked at me and smirked, he walked over and sat down. He just stared at me smirking.
"How are you darling?" He asked, whispering. I tried to ignore him but he was literally sitting next to me, so it was a little difficult.
"You know I would take you to a movie but they don't let you bring your own snacks in" he whispered smirking.
Did this bitch just use a pickup line? Is he in the fucking third grade? I ignored him as best as possible.
"Oh come on all the good pick up lines are taken, but you're not" he whispered touching my cheek. I grabbed his hand and looked at him
"Say one more thing and I shove this pencil down your throat" I whispered threateningly.
"Ok ok geez" he said sitting back.

"So darling, would you like to go out with me sometime?" Noah asked as they were about to leave.
"Don't call me that, and absolutely not" I said harshly.
"I would rather spoon my eyes out" I say loudly walking to the door. The hallway was crowded and since I was in the basement I took a short cut away from the other students, Sam had shown me this path when he had given me the tour.
"Just one tiny date? Come on love" Noah said behind her.
This motherfucker followed me!
"NO! i don't like you in least bit!" I yelled.
"Don't tell me you like Levine" he says in disgust.
"I don't, I don't like anyone" I say
"You should stay away from him, he's evil, just like his father" Noah says in disgust.
"What's so bad about his father?" I ask quietly.
"He's the one that creates husks, he's the one who kills anyone who gets in his way, he's the one that sucks the soul out of innocent living things and turns them into his lifeless soldiers, and who knows his sons are probably involved to" Noah said darkly. I remembered the lifeless lion stocking close to me, its creepy green eyes. Mateo wouldn't do that would he? I have only known the boys for three days but I feel like I've known them for years. I just don't know.
"Yah I don't believe you" and with that I walked on ready to confront the boys about this.
