"There you are!" Poppy called out as she saw her Sky sat on the grass just watching the sun come up over the school, "I was worried about you, Prince Charming." Poppy teased just as she reached him. She pecked his cheek as she sat next to him causing him to smile small and look down.

"How do you feel after going full fairy?" Sky looked at the slight bags under her eyes and rubbed his thumb over them slightly. It didn't make her any less beautiful to him however.

"Eh, I wish the wings had stayed, completed my look." She giggled before turning away from him and watching the sun like he did, "Sky," the blonde hummed in reply, "What are we?"

That question had bothered him since their shared kisses. Both were very open in their love for touches and openly kissed and held hand but had never put a label on it, "What would you like to be?"

"More." His eyes were so blue, like the warm oceans of Solaria when there were no clouds in the sky.

Sky turned to Poppy and took her hands, "Well then, Poppy Mallow Harvey, will you be my girlfriend?"

Both already knew her answer. They may not have always been there for each other but they sure intended to be now.

"On one condition," Poppy grinned leaning closer to him so their lips were only a brush apart, "tell me how you found out my middle name."

"Not gonna happen, Mallow," Sky returned the teasing and leant in for a kiss with his girlfriend which she quickly reciprocated. It was peaceful, just the two of them watching the sunrise over. Alfea. Poppy hadn't felt this calm in days. But maybe it wasn't calmness. Happiness is a better word for it.

They had all been so stressed and worried that they hadn't taken any time for themselves. Poppy rested her head on his shoulder and he rested his on her head. It was peaceful, perfect, content.

After a minute of silence Poppy realised what her head was resting on and frowned but didn't move as they were both comfortable, "Are you wearing the same clothes you were wearing last night?" Poppy lightly tugged at his clothes, "What happened?"

Sky pulled her fingers away from his sleeve and just held her hand, "I'm fine." Poppy finally. moved her head making him lift his and she gently grabbed his face in her hands raising an eyebrow not believing him, "I promise."

Poppy nodded although hesitant and Sky turned his head to kiss her palms. She knew he wasn't fine but it didn't sound like he was in the mood to argue and she didn't want to push when he wasn't ready.

Before she left for Bloom's home, they kissed deeply and smiled at each other.

How long would it be before they could do that again?

Bloom knocked on her door whilst the girls remained round the corner. Bloom had invited Oliver along but he politely refused since he had some stuff to do over the weekend at school.

As Poppy looked at Bloom's house she couldn't help but snicker to herself. It looked like the classic suburban dream house, classic white picket fence with big glass doors. Musa gave her a weird glance, wondering what was amusing her so much but Poppy shooed her off still laughing to herself. She amused herself, too much.

"Hi." Bloom spoke as her dad got the door.

"How the hell did... Come here!" Her father brought her into a quick embrace his smile never leaving his face, "Vanessa!" The middle-aged man shouted for his wife who quickly came to the door.

"Bloom?" Her mother, Vanessa, smiled and Bloom replied with a breathy 'hi' as her mother crushed her unto a hug.

"I'm sorry. I know I've been MIA the past few days, but I'm gonna explain everything. I do have one quick question." Bloom moved around and called out for the others. "Girls?"

Poppy whispered to Stella, "I love how we respond like dogs. Come here girl!" Poppy mimicked teasing and grunted slightly as Stella elbowed her in the ribs with a forced smile.

"Lovely to meet you!" Terra grinned excited as Poppy rolled her eyes at her sisters ability to constantly be cheery. She'd probably die if she was Musa.

"Uh, can my friends crash here this weekend?"

"Sure." The parents didn't have much of a choice as the five girls stood behind Bloom. Poppy started waving but Aisha pulled her hand down.

Bloom smiled but her eyes were filled with worry and pain, "Cool. They're gonna go chill in my room for a while 'cause, um... we need to talk."

"Okay." Vanessa nodded and slipped out from under her husbands arms as they all moved into the home.

After the talk (in which Bloom's parents were surprisingly acceptive), the girls stayed the whole weekend. It was a classic long slumber party and surprisingly fun. Poppy never tended to do these things without Oliver but it was a welcome change and she enjoyed it just as much.

They were happy at last. But happiness never lasts long now, does it?

Headmistress Dowling stood over some graves, looking down with remorse, "You buried them," Rosalind was here but Farah showed no reaction, "How noble."

"Well, it seemed fitting, seeing as they were clearly human at one time." Farah's voice didn't change as she addressed her predecessor, "But then you knew about them, didn't you?" Farah turned accusingly to Rosalind.

"I did. I did." Rosalind nodded unbothered.

"Are there more out there?" Farah questioned.

"Shit ton." Rosalind nodded and the elder fairy moved to sit down on a bench, she patted the seat next to her and rolled her eyes when the fairy didn't move from her stance, "Oh God. Don't pout, Farah." She sighed falsely, "Fine. I'll let you in on a little secret just this once. There's a legend. It's a thousand years old. That's how old the Burned Ones are, by the way. They were soldiers from an ancient war. The legend is about the magic used against them. It created them. It's powerful. It's primal." She dragged out the last word and Farah turned her gaze to her elder, "The Dragon Flame. It burns inside our changeling friend."

"So that's why Bloom was able to transform so easily." Farah breathed out in realisation

"With my guidance, yes." Rosalind nodded but before she could continue Farah spoke again.

"What about Poppy?" It didn't make sense, yes Poppy was stronger than the average fairy but Farah had been so focused on Bloom she didn't even think to focus on another student.

"You don't know do you, Farah?" Rosalind laughed with malice behind her tone, as if addressing someone stupid, "It's the Tellurian Bud."

Farah sucked in a breath and shook her head. It wasn't possible. "That's not possible, the story of that power is only a myth."

"Appears not though doesn't it, that small second year could've annihilated everything. The Burned Ones never stood a chance." Rosalind looked proud as she spoke. She could mould Bloom easily but her little spy had been informing her of Poppy's slight rebellious behaviour withe her fire fairy friend, eventually Rosalind would have to take care of them.

Anyway necessary.

"You let Burned Ones into the school to test her? Them? Risked the lives of countless students?" Farah raised her voice slightly and took steps forward.

"There's a war on the horizon. The Burned Ones are nothing compared to what's coming." She looked Farah up and down, "I fear you lack the composure to lead the next generation into it."

Farah laughed slightly as a smile of disbelief came to her face, "And there it is." Farah took a seat beside her old mentor, "Once I stepped out from under your shadow, I saw a world full of light. Turns out this place isn't miserable, It was just you."

"What a shame Queen Luna doesn't agree with you." Rosalind moved forward slightly, her striking blue eyes clashing against Farah's warm brown, "I was planning to threaten her with exposing her role in the cover-up at Aster Dell, but, apparently, she's been mad at you for some time, something about her daughter and Ricki? Dreadful name. Anyway, she agreed the school could use a change." Rosalind's eyes were threatening, "I have a feeling most of the faculty will fall in line when I walk through the doors. Ben will certainly keep quiet for the sake of his children." And Farah knew that was true, she would never ask Ben to risk the lives of his children, "Saul would have been a problem, but he'll be on trial for the murder of Andreas. Sorry, attempted murder. Poor Andreas. It couldn't have been easy. to stay in hiding for so long, but I needed someone to raise Beatrix, in case you were wondering who was working with me on the outside. So..." Rosalind shuffled closer to Farah, "now all we have to talk about is you."

Rosalind whispered the first part threateningly, "I think you should take a sabbatical, head to the mountains. Take a break, you've worked so hard, Farah."

Farah grabbed Rosalind's arm and stopped her from getting too close, she spoke as if she was a mother defending her young. In a way she was, Dowling was the only hope for the students of Alfea, "I am the headmistress of Alfea. And there's no way I'm leaving the school in your hands."

Farah shook her hands away and moved back to stand over the graves, listening carefully as the older fairy spoke, "I know that." Rosalind copied her actions and stood up walking behind her, "The rest of the world might believe it, and if they don't," Rosalind raised Farah off of the ground so she hovered at the elder fairy's mercy, "what the fuck are they gonna do about it?"

Not wasting a second she snapped Farah's neck and dropped her body to the ground. She didn't glance back as she walked away, leaves crunching in her path with an evil glint in her eyes.

Time to take care of the pesky male fire fairy.

The six girls walked down the Alfea drive with smiles on their faces, backpacks on their backs and happiness in their spirits. Nothing was wrong until they reached the gates.

A black SUV pulled away and immediately they stopped. In front of them stood dotted specialists, fully trained soldiers and at the very front stood Rosalind, Queen Luna and Andreas. Although Poppy only knew the two women having never seen the man before. He gave her slight Déjà vu, it was like she had seen him in a picture somewhere.

"Welcome back, ladies." Rosalind spoke and even though Poppy had never properly met her she already thought she was a bitch, "There have been a few changes."

All six frowned and Poppy glanced around nervously as she saw the specialists with their weapons out in the open, why would they be out? Rosalind spoke again before she could ask, "But I'm afraid that before we continue we must take care of a few things," Specialists walked forward, Rosalind glanced at them briefly before nodding at Poppy who stood next to Musa at the end of their small row, "arrest the earth fairy."

The girls protested as tried to use their powers but were held back by people they didn't even know, redistricting them from using their powers in their panic. Poppy went to intervene but was thrown back by a huge gust of hair which thrashed her against the gates. She rolled over groaning feeling cuts on the side of her face, cheekbones and above her eyebrows specifically, the brunette pushed herself up as specialists approached her.

Her eyes glowed green in defence and she gestured for the girls not to get involved. The first specialist ran at her but she threw him away with roots and into the fence like she had been a moment ago. The second specialist came from behind and she ducked under his arms before thrusting out her arms causing dirt walls to send him back into three approaching specialists. It was like a strike during bowling as one knocked more down.

Poppy was in her element, literally, she was outside and surrounded by nature and couldn't be more focused. Each specialist was thrown away either by dirt or vines, none of them being able to slip the cuffs on her. Queen Luna stepped forward fed up of the girl making a mockery of her soldiers and dimmed the light in a circle around her so it appeared that everything was dark to the girl.

The other girls struggled as they saw her panic and reach out like she was blind. That was her first mistake. Specialists she now couldn't see coming snapped power restricting cuffs on her wrists. They dug themselves into her wrists and she cried out as she dropped onto her knees. The Queen smirked as stood back as her eyesight returned. She gasped at her sudden vision and was smacked hard across the face, worsening her injuries on her face and bringing her down to the gravel.

Rosalind nodded at the girl as the specialists pulled her up, "Put her with in the cell with the fire fairy we arrested earlier, I'm told they're close." Oliver. Rosalind smirked slightly and the soldiers began to drag the earth fairy away kicking and screaming.

"Let go of me!" Poppy yelled out in fury, dragging her feet trying to slow herself, "Terra! Sky!" Poppy shoved her elbow into one of the guys gut but it had no effect as they continued to drag her away. Terra being held back by the other girls now they had been released.

All their hearts breaking as the girl got dragged away. Eventually the soldiers got tired of her struggling and resorted to knocking her unconscious with the butt off a sword.

Sky, Sam, Ben. None of them even knew she was taken.
