After the snowball fight, we all headed back inside, our cheeks rosy from the cold and our spirits high from the unexpected fun. The warm, familiar atmosphere of the hotel lobby felt even more inviting now, with the snow continuing to fall outside. It was a cozy, perfect contrast to the chill we'd left behind.

Charlie and Vaggie, ever the diligent hosts, had already set up a movie night for us. "Home Alone!" Charlie announced excitedly as she placed the DVD into the player. "It's a Christmas classic, and I know it's going to be perfect for tonight!"

I smiled at the sight of the DVD. It was a small, human tradition I'd insisted on bringing when I came to Hell. Sure, it was weird to be watching a human movie in the middle of this chaotic, fiery place, but it felt oddly comforting. Even in Hell, a Christmas movie could make it feel like home.

"Who brought this?" Angel asked, looking between the group with curiosity.

"I did," I said, holding up the case proudly. "Had to share a little piece of my world with you guys."

The others seemed intrigued. They may not have been familiar with human movies, but the festive atmosphere was contagious, and they were all eager to join in.

As the movie began, everyone started settling into their places. The couch was crowded with various couples, from Stolas and Blitzø to Vox and Angie, with everyone finding their spot for comfort. The warm glow from the fireplace made the space feel even cozier as the crackling flames illuminated the room. The soft sound of laughter from the movie filled the space as we all got comfortable, with a familiar sense of peace washing over me.

Charlie and Vaggie appeared, each carrying large trays filled with fresh cookies and mugs of rich cocoa. The smell of chocolate and cinnamon filled the air, making everyone's stomachs growl in anticipation.

"Who's ready for some treats?" Charlie asked, practically glowing with pride as she handed out cookies and cocoa to everyone. Vaggie followed closely behind, making sure everyone got their share. I was just about to reach for a cookie when I realized Lucifer was sitting beside me, a little closer than usual. It wasn't unusual for us to hang out, but there was something different in the way he was sitting next to me now. It felt... more intimate.

I glanced at him, a little unsure. He caught my eye and gave me a small, sheepish smile. "Mind if I sit here?" he asked softly, his voice quieter than usual. It wasn't cocky or teasing. Instead, it was almost... nervous?

I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through me. "Of course not," I replied, trying to act casual but failing a little.

Lucifer didn't pull away, instead leaning back against the arm of the couch, his arm brushing against mine. It was subtle, but I could feel his presence next to me. We sat like that for a few moments, the comfortable silence filled with the sounds of the movie and everyone else laughing.

After a while, I found myself inching closer to him, almost without thinking. He seemed to do the same, and soon enough, we were sitting shoulder to shoulder, both of us a little unsure of what to do next. My heart skipped a beat, and I could feel the nervousness bubbling up again. It wasn't like I didn't want to be close to him—I did—but it was... well, awkward. The air between us felt charged, like we were teetering on the edge of something.

Charlie's excited voice cut through the tension. "Aly, you should totally make a wish on the snow!" she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You know, like in the movies! You're with Lucifer now, right?"

I blushed, completely caught off guard by the question. "C-Charlie!" I stammered, my face turning bright red. Lucifer, thankfully, just chuckled softly, his gaze meeting mine for a moment before he looked away.

"You're making her nervous," he teased Charlie, though there was an almost playful edge to his voice. I looked at him, relieved that he was trying to ease the awkwardness. It felt like the moment had passed, and we settled back into a comfortable, shared silence.

"Well, if I did make a wish..." I started, my voice soft and uncertain. "It would probably be for more moments like this."

Lucifer glanced at me, his expression unreadable for a moment, before a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "You're always full of surprises," he murmured, his voice low and warm.

As the movie played on, we shared a few more quiet words, but most of the time, we were content just being close, lost in the simple joy of the moment. The warmth of the cocoa in our hands and the delicious cookies made it feel like the perfect Christmas night. Despite everything that had happened, despite being in Hell of all places, I was happy—happier than I could have imagined.

The room filled with laughter as everyone reacted to the movie, but all I could focus on was Lucifer, sitting so close to me, his presence calming and comforting. The more time we spent together, the more I realized just how much I wanted this closeness. Something between us had shifted, and maybe, just maybe, it wasn't just the holiday spirit that was making my heart race.

For the first time in a long time, I felt like I truly belonged. And as the movie played on and the laughter of my friends surrounded us, I realized that this moment, this warmth, this feeling—it was perfect. And maybe, just maybe, there was more to come for Lucifer and me.
