THE KING'S ASSASSIN
male — 18-23 — taken

• ability — shadow manipulation
• his parents were killed in the
witch hunts (the methodical
persecution and execution of
magical people)
• goes by a different name now,
just in case, you know?
• childhood friends with the
mistress
• has always been very skilled
with weaponry ever since he
was young and had dreams of
serving in the military
• now the only thing he wants to
protect his kingdom from is its
ruler
• a sarcastic, sardonic kind of
character with seemingly endless
wit. although, don't expect him to
always be witty. not everyone can
manage that and he certainly can't
either
• takes his role very seriously but
obviously jokes around when
there's an opportunity to do so
• gets annoyed by the royalty and
nobility very easily but hides it well
• maybe he'll grow some tolerance
for some of them eventually
• a protector personality but he
sees his peers as fit enough to
save themselves so he'll only
ever intervene in anything if he's
not confident they're doing so well
on their own
• works best alone but enjoys group
work too
• poses as a royal executioner at the
palace but he's "working" as one of the
king's assassins although you already
know he's not genuinely working
for him. he still goes through with
some of it tho, his cover's important
after all

ROLE XXI

THE MISTRESS
female — 18-20 — taken

• ability — mind control
• a very flirtatious, charming
woman with many secret
ambitions
• childhood friends with the
king's assassin
• became the king's mistress
towards the end of queen zarya's
reign
• obviously doesn't care about him,
she's here to kill him, after all
• has a pretty light personality. she
doesn't take things too hard externally
• but struggles a bit internally
• uses her connection to the king to
get away with things
• like she could totally get someone
executed if she accused them of
anything ngl
• she's beautiful and she knows it
• lowborn but that doesn't really
matter since she's a mistress
• the king spoils her to an almost
extreme
• rumor has it she'll be the eighth
queen once the seventh is dead
• doesn't have anything against paint
me as the villain but she is cautious
around her
• her parents also died in the witch
hunts because they had been open
magic users before
• uses a surname alias because even
though her parents' names weren't
written in the magical registry when
executions began, some people know
her family name and she can't risk
exposure
• she hasn't been able to use mind
control on the king. sometimes when
she uses it on a person, they may become
aware and can fight it

THE ADVISOR'S DAUGHTER
female — 16-20 — reserved

• ability — shapeshifting
• the only noble of this cast
• her family doesn't have magic
in their line so she doesn't
understand how her ability came
about but doesn't question it
• hails from house rayne
• demure, friendly, comely
• she's a classic elyrian lady who
was only roped into joining the
assassins when she met the
sedeina
• she eventually confided in her
(a stupid move) but they took her
in and started training her on how
to use her ability and how to keep it
a secret
• she's a very loyal person except
her loyalty sometimes shifts. she'd
turn against her family for love ngl
• she's not the strongest person yet
but she'll get better as she discovers
herself
• doesn't care for many of the other
noble children and just hangs out
and eats at events until someone
approaches her
• her favorite animal form is either
the common wolf or the reiwolf
• a very passionate person as you'll
come to learn
• kind of the poster girl for elyrian
women. she's seemingly the ideal
woman according to their standards
although she's got magic and she's
plotting the death of the king sooo
• commonly seen with the mistress
• she's the one who even opened the
doorway for the others to get into
the palace. she's kind of the cover
person

THE APOTHECARY
male — 18-23 — taken

• ability — poison manipulation
• a palace healer
• he's knowledgeable on plants
& medicine
• watch someone get injured &
he'll sabotage them and blame
it on someone else
• treated the mistress after
she poisoned herself (although
others believe someone else did
it)
• has a headstrong disposition &
is a very intelligent person
• a bit of a know-it-all
• will correct you when you're
wrong if he doesn't like you. if
he does, well, he'll just be a little
gentler
• he's a mouthy individual but
watches his tongue around certain
people
• a very good liar able to spin
tales from thin air
• despite being the apothecary, his
role can also be seen as the storyteller
• he likes to read & write
• his parents died in the witch hunts
& he uses an alias just in case
(they all do, ig)
• very ambitious
• doesn't like the idea of killing
but will do it without hesitation
if it's demanded of him
• doesn't like any of the royals
so far & holds grudges tbh

THE ARTIST

• ability — dream manipulation
• a very skilled artist who paints
portraits as his profession
• was brought to the palace by
the mistress
• is currently here to work on
portraits for all of the royals &
the mistress so he's able to
be close to them
• his ability allows him to bring
people into his dreams or he can
go into someone else's
• he can also alter a dream and can
use it to influence people in a
positive or negative way
• if he really concentrates, he can
pull things from dreams into the
real world as illusions but it's very
difficult
• a friendly, kind person with a bit of
a sassy attitude at times
• likes to tease people
• grew up with the sedeina in
the orphanage
• i want them to gang up on someone
with crossbows. that's all i want pls
• a badass with a crossbow & a
recurve bow
• he's also good with daggers
• he's a good liar but not as good
as the apothecary
• his parents were killed in the
witch hunts & he uses an alias
• tends to bottle up his emotions

THE SEDEINA
female — 16-22 — reserved

• ability — telekinesis
• a religious woman new to
the royal sedei
• formerly worked as a sedenna
until receiving a promotion
• one of the youngest of the
sedei council
• she's very pretty & (if she's
18+) the king may take an
interest in her but she's one
of the religious leaders so she
can't do those things
• she is religious but don't worry,
she can find love and stuff if you
want her to at some point
• do you think the gods care about
celibacy and all that stuff unless
they are one of the virgin gods?
• seems very sweet & pure but
religion isn't that pure and they
do some questionable stuff
• was an orphan & therefore does
not know her family
• she bets they're all dead by now
• a playful flirt with a preference
for women
• only flirts with people she's
close to & can be open with
• she's not going to flirt with the
king's daughters lol why?
• skilled with lots of weaponry
but is good with words too
• very austere when she's around
other sedeinas, sedeins, or any of
the other religious leaders
• most connected to the god of love
& the goddess of duty
• religious leaders generally are
more connected to one or two
gods out of the whole bunch of them
• has no alias

THE KNIGHT

• ability — metal manipulation
• the surviving child of house storm
• a valaryen soldier smuggled him
out and left him at an orphanage
• he felt bad for him, ya know? because
he was a newborn and all
• doesn't recognize himself as a storm
so he goes by a different surname
but he'll probably come into his true
name later on
• a very kind & friendly personality
• he's a peaceful person & only wants
to be a good warrior to protect people
• honestly, he hardly practiced with
a blade but somehow he's a natural
with it
• it's like something is speaking to
him and he knows what someone
is going to do before they follow
through with the action
• he didn't even know he had
abilities until about a year ago
• he only joined the assassins to
discover himself and to protect
others
• he's not into killing
•  what do you think death will
have to say about that?
• always seems to have a question
about something
• he's not insecure but he has to
be certain before he does something
just in case he makes a bad mistake
• y'all already know valaryen's going
to give him trouble 🤡

give him trouble too
