chapter forty-one;

━━━━━━ "I'LL MISS YOU TWO", KISA SMILED as she waved to chisaki and shigaraki.

"we'll miss you too", chisaki replied with as little emotion as possible, but kisa knew that the male at least somewhat meant it.

     "now now kai, don't overwork yourself and if you ever get bored, just text me okay?", kisa smiled, making chisaki raise a brow.

"does the yōkai world even have wifi?"

"no, but it's the thought that counts", the girl chuckled, then turning towards shigaraki.

"and you, my darling, with all the pain that's to come, it'll be worth it because the next time we see each other, you'll be able to destroy an entire city by yourself", kisa grinned.

shigaraki just nodded as he grabbed onto kisa's hand, staring at it as he just gently squeezed it before letting go.

kisa hummed as she moved father off shigaraki's face, quickly giving him a kiss to the cheek as she covered the male's blush with the hand.

"would you like one too, kai?", kisa smirked, to which the male had just given the girl a curt nod.

     giggling, kisa pecked chisaki's cheek as she then sighed.

"well, we'll be heading off now", kisa said as dabi just grinned, putting his arm around the girl's waist to rub it in both the villains' faces.

     shigaraki promptly flipped dabi off, to which the male's shit-eating grin didn't cease in the slightest. in fact, dabi even went as far as to swoop the girl off her feet and get on the carriage with inasa.

     "that subordinate of yours...if he worked under me, I would've overhauled him already", chisaki commented as they watched the horses gallop into the sky.

     "I would have too, but that would've made her upset", shigaraki irritatedly replied.

     the two villains glanced at each other before huffing, turning around and leaving, as they both merely tolerated each other.

"you know, if it weren't for kisa, I would've taken over the league of villains in a moments notice", chisaki bluntly stated, clearly wanting to rile up shigaraki, to which it had worked.

     "well for someone who's trying to cleanse the world of quirks, it's pretty ironic that you have one yourself isn't it?", shigaraki mocked, practically calling the man himself diseased.

     chisaki clicked his tongue as he glared at shigaraki.

     "I'd watch your mouth if I were you. without kisa here, who knows who'd be here to protect you", chisaki harshly teased.

     shigaraki's brows furrowed as he hasn't felt this much intent to kill in a long while.

     "I would've decayed you already if it weren't for the thought of making her upset at your disappearance. stay of my fucking way and I'll stay out of yours", shigaraki warned as he walked off, meanwhile chisaki had promptly did the same.

     'that bitch'.

     'who does that fucker think he is?!'

     "NEE-CHAN YOU'RE BACK!! I MISSED YOU SO SO MUCH AND IT WAS SO BORING WITHOUT YOU!!", kaoru cheered as the little boy lumped onto kisa, who had openly welcomed his brother's embrace.

     "I am, kaoru. my apologies for leaving you for so long", kisa mumbled as she kissed the top of kaoru's head, squeezing him tightly until the little boy had let out a little whimper.

"kaoru?"

"it's fine nee-chan. I just got hurt playing when I fell", the little boy lied.

"is he making you train again?", kisa seriously asked as she checked the white-haired boy's arms, to which they were majorly bruised.

kaoru awkwardly squirmed around in kisa's embrace, avoiding the girl's look.

"anyways, remember when I told you I'd bring you back many presents?", the girl suddenly smiled, to which kaoru was glad to change the subject.

"I got you many cute and handsome outfits that I'm sure will fit you! and best of all, I've brought someone back for you", kisa said, to which eri had promptly hopped off the carriage with inasa's help.

kaoru gasped. "ERI!!"

"hello kaoru-kun", the shy girl waved, running over as kisa had let the little boy down.

"go play now and be careful. don't run too fast", kisa warned to which the two kids had skipped away, heeding the woman's advice.

     inasa and dabi joined kisa as they entered their shared room.

     todoroki, upon immediately hearing about kisa's return, had requested an audience with the second princess.

     "inasa, could you go ask the kitchen to make me some dessert please?", kisa requested as she started unfolding the many clothes that she had brought from the human world.

     the male swiftly left with the click of a door closing. upon hearing that, kisa invited dabi to help hang her clothes, as there was too many.

     "what happened with the little squirt earlier?", dabi questioned, clearly knowing that something was up.

     kisa momentarily stopped before continuing to hang her dresses in a colored order.

     "you know, we actually are quite similar now that I think about it", kisa lightly chuckled.

     "oh? how so?", dabi bemused.

     "like you, my father doesn't approve of my strength either. instead, he invests all his time and energy into kaoru, who doesn't even want to be future king, or emperor. coincidental isn't it?"

     dabi just hummed. "I suppose".

     "but that doesn't mean I worked any less hard to try to gain his approval. until I realized that the best way to prove my strength is by killing him", the woman madly grinned.

     "I second that", dabi chuckled.

     "however, while I have my brother...you have..."

     "no one?"

     "not necessarily. I mean I'm here aren't I?", kisa laughed. "though it'd be smart to have shōto on your side as well".

dabi furrowed his brows, not particularly liking where this conversation was going.

"what are you planning now?"

kisa just shrugged. "it's better to have a powerful ally on your side rather than a strong enemy isn't it? when war breaks out in the human world, his hero senses are going jolt him towards us".

     "we don't need him on our side. aren't I enough?", dabi scowled.

     kisa turned to dabi as she hugged the male, her hand rubbing his back up and down, soothing him.

     "my darling, you're more than enough", kisa mumbled, listening to dabi's heartbeat as the scarred male started running his fingers through her short hair.

dabi let out a low chuckle. "why lie? you wanted to recruit shōto earli—"

"I'm serious", kisa intercepted as she looked up at dabi's pretty turquoise eyes.

     "I mean it when I say you're more than enough dabi. if I were lying, I would've picked shōto from the very start, but I didn't did I now?"

     "prove it", dabi said, still skeptical.

     kisa leaned in closer, if that was even possible, and motioned for dabi to lean down.

expecting a kiss, dabi leaned down with a grin meanwhile closing his eyes. feeling the girl's soft hands grace his cheeks, kisa brought her lips closer to dabi's ear.

     "I love you touya. I love you very much, and I appreciate you very much. you're more than enough for me, for them, for the world", kisa whispered, making dabi's eyes shoot open and ears burn.

those words: you're more than enough, had etched its way into dabi's heart. in all the years that he's been out roaming, surviving, that was all he had wanted to hear deep down inside.

the man didn't know how to react or what to say.

kisa smiled, kissing dabi's lips as the baffled male leaned in, enjoying the sweetness.

     "and the only reason I wanted shōto on our side is because I would assume your mother would be quite upset if we had killed him. don't you think?"

     dabi just nodded.

     "so what is it that you wanted me to do?", dabi asked.

     kisa slightly grinned. "I wanted you to..."

dabi sighed, to which kisa had caressed the male's cheek.

"only you can do it. and I trust that he'll heed to your words. plus, the truth's bound to come out someday".

"if I didn't love you, he would've been long dead".

kisa just smiled. "I know darling. thank you".

'I just didn't want you to regret it later on'.
