eden's arrest record. ╱ season one, episode two.
EDEN ARGENT WOKE up with an odd feeling lingering in her stomach as the sun shined through her curtains on Monday morning. As she opened her eyes, the reality of her Friday night came to her mind. Knowing who Scott really is was stomach-dropping, and the fact that Allison was interested in him freaked her out.
A new world opened to Eden before she was even ready to understand it. She could easily walk away now and ignore the new door to the supernatural, but she just couldn't. It's something you can't forget. Eden feared there was much more out there than just werewolves. But she couldn't even begin to process that when there were dangerous things ahead for her cousin. She couldn't leave her cousin to be with someone who could potentially hurt her. Eden knew Scott would never do it on purpose, but with what happened when Stiles talked to him before the party, there's always a chance.
She knew the only way she was going to be able to protect her cousin was to insert herself into this world and understand what was at stake. Eden knew her only to do that was to intertwine herself more with Stiles and Scott. They didn't really have a choice in this matter, she was brought into this when she saw the claw marks in Stiles' desk chair. There was no going back for her.
Even though Stiles has her number, he's been deadly silent throughout the weekend. There have been a handful of times when Eden picked up her phone, going to text him, going to ask him for any updates on all this supernatural stuff. But then she realized how weird that would be, and tucked her phone away. She figured that she would get an earful this morning at school.
As the girl was packing up her stuff for school, a knock caught her attention. Glancing up from her desk, she was met with her mother standing in the doorway with a coffee in her hand. "Hi, Pumpkin."
Eden stopped herself from rolling her eyes at the nickname her mother used. The blond sighed as her mother found a seat on her unmade bed. "Morning Mum,"
"You know you should make your bed before you leave. I know it's not like living in your dad's when you had a full-time maid. We unfortunately cannot afford that luxury." Valerie sighed as she grimaced in disgust at the chaotic clump of blankets and pillows on Eden's bed.
Eden ground her teeth at her mother's words, finding this interaction to be too early in the morning for her to handle. She never bothered to look at her mother as she continued to pack her bag. "I haven't lived at Dad's in years, so I'm used to it. And I was planning on it, Mum. I was just planning to do it after school. And you know that Maggie wasn't my maid she was my nanny."
Valerie nodded at her words, crossing her legs as she took a sip of her coffee. "So, how was the party?"
Eden paused at the question, trying to come up with someone to say. "It was alright. I was only there for a little bit, got too crowded for me."
"Allison told me you were hanging around with a...what was it again? Oh, a Stiles?" Valerie questioned, a small smirk resting on her features.
"He's just a friend," Eden stated plainly, shaking her head at the absurdity of her mother's words. "We just met a few days ago, and trust me that would never happen."
"It's sad...I have to get all my information on you from Allison," Valerie stated with a guilting tone, the statement instantly made Eden's muscles tense up. While there was always something Eden would've rather said, to clap back at her mother's manipulation, she knew it would only make interactions like these worse.
Eden just put on a sarcastic tone as she sent her mother a look, "Didn't you know? Allison is my publicist, she relays all the riveting information about my life I want people to know."
The blonde teen couldn't help but walk about after those words, realizing Piper was probably waiting for her in the driveway. The other part of her left simply because she did not want to be having this conversation with her mother any longer. But the biggest part of her wanted to get to school so she could find Stiles and Scott and ask them what was going on.
"Do not just walk away from your Mother, Eden."
Eden paused at the doorway, turning to her mother, she sent her a tight smile. "Too late. It's best if you make an appointment. I'll get back to you when I'm available."
The blonde watched the woman open her mouth to snap back at her attitude, but Eden didn't give her time to reply as she made her way out of the room and down the hall. She could hear the call of her name from a clearly angered Valerie Argent, but she ignored it and continued to the front door.
The others that resided in the house sent her confused glances as she walked past them with a morning greeting as her mother continued to call her name from upstairs. Even though she was heading for the door, she couldn't help but send her little brother a little pat on the head before she left the house. The boy smiled and gave her a morning greeting before he said goodbye.
While there were a million things on her mind at that moment, she couldn't help but find herself focusing on her little brother with worry blooming in her chest. She could tell he wasn't doing good with the move, he rarely had a smile on his lips anymore. He had always been the embodiment of sunshine, and she feared that the light would dim and he would become cold like her. She couldn't handle a change like that. They were a perfect balance, and his becoming like her would ruin it. She didn't want him to be like her, he deserved better.
She knew that he was being bullied, even if he didn't say anything. Eden knew that boy inside and out. So she could tell when he was getting bullied at school. Miles wouldn't tell anyone, she also knew that. He kept things to himself, worrying that his problems would inconvenience the people around him. She hated that he did that, she wanted him to let her in. His well-being was so important to her, and she wanted to make sure he was happy and safe. But it's impossible to ensure that when he struggled to let her in.
The bright light from the sunny fall morning immediately shined in her eyes the moment she stepped out the front door. Eden couldn't help but let a small smile twist on her lips the moment Piper noticed her and visibly perked up and waved excitedly. The blonde didn't hesitate to send the redhead a small wave in return. The longer Eden was talking to Piper, the blonde began getting more fond of her. It's kind of hard to dislike someone as sweet and generous as Piper. The redhead had an aura that attracted everyone to her, it was no secret why she was popular. Eden just didn't understand what about her made Piper want to be her friend. As Eden drew closer to the girl's small red car, she pushed down the self-doubt. She knew that it would be better if it was another thought for another time.

THE SCHOOL HALLS were crowded as Eden pushed through the groups of people that occupied it. The morning had felt like it was dragging on, every minute, every hour, it moved slowly. It also didn't help that all of her teachers decided to talk about their most boring material today. Her attention has been mostly directed at her sketchbook snuck in with her books for class.
She had been counting down the minutes until she found Scott and Stiles, but they had been complete ghosts the entire day. Which was beginning to get very annoying until she realized they were completely avoiding her. It didn't take her long to realize that when during the second period, Scott and Stiles completely ignored her existence before and after class. All she did was give the boy with a buzzcut a small wave from her seat and the boy immediately averted his gaze from her.
Instances like that weren't the only ones that were happening, even when she began remotely walking in their direction, they would completely turn and rush away. After the second time of this, anger began to bloom in Eden's chest. If they think after everything that happened she was just going to let them ignore her, they have another thing coming.
Even with the countless interactions and interruptions between her cousin and Piper, Eden was not giving up on sneaking up on those idiots and finding out why they were avoiding her. Just as lunch came around, people began filing into the cafeteria and leaving the halls empty. Eden found herself ignoring the invitation from Allison and Piper, and lingering near her locker, trying to figure out how exactly she was going to get the jump on Scott and Stiles.
But it was like her prayers had finally been answered when both of them turned down the hall. Eden snapped her head to them while they both froze in place. Just as they went to make their escape, her words caught them.
"Dickheads, freeze, now." The two didn't hesitate to do what she said as they had been caught. Eden slammed her locker door, her combat boots stomping against the laminate flooring as she walked towards them. Her anger began bubbling in her stomach the more guilty their faces looked as she neared them. She stopped a few steps from them and crossed her arms as she glared at them. "Why the hell are you two avoiding me?"
Their mouths opened and closed as they glanced at each other hoping the other would speak up and spew out a bullshit excuse. Eden scoffed at the wordless interaction, finding their rudeness absolutely infuriating. "Stiles."
The boy's eyes widened as she called his name, shocked that she would direct her attention to him. Stiles quickly gave the boy next to him a panicked look, Scott just shook his head discreetly, but Eden caught it anyway. "Stiles. Talk. Now."
"Well..." Stiles blurted instantly as his eyes wavered between Scott's and Eden's, as he tried to come up with some kind of excuse. "You see..."
Eden scoffed as he trailed off, finding his shoes much more interesting than the girl in from of him. "One of you speak." They both just looked at each other, hoping something would be said, but seconds passed by without a single word. Eden gripped her sketchbook tightly in her hands, the anger getting the best of her. "If someone doesn't talk in two seconds, both of you are getting put on my list."
Stiles scrunched up his eyebrows in confusion, "List?"
Scott followed suit, looking between Stiles and Eden to figure out the answer. "What's the list about?"
"You don't wanna know Wolfie." Eden seethed, her tone making both the boys slightly move back in intimidation. "Someone tell me what going on, I'm serious."
"Do you know?" Scott finally broke through the silence, his question only leading Eden to more confusion.
Eden looked between them, trying to find out what he was asking. "Know what?"
"About your family."
The girl froze, puzzlement seeping into her chest. "My family? I think I'd know if I had a family Scott, you're literally in love with Allison."
"I'm not in love with Allison," Scott remarked, his cheeks reddened at her words. But he shook it off when he continued. "I'm being serious, do you know about your family?"
Eden looked at him for a second, trying to decipher what he was talking about. But she just didn't understand. "Scott, I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Do you know about them being hunters?" Stiles blurted, making the two teens immediately look at him.
"Stiles," Scott complained like he had let out their big secret.
Eden glanced between the two boys, her stomach bubbling with uncertainty. "Like hunting for sport? I mean yeah, I don't really like that they do it, but I don't really have a say in that matter."
"Not like animal hunting Eden," Scott said grimly, which only made her more confused.
"What kind of other hunting is there?" The girl questioned.
"The werewolf-hunting kind," Stiles remarked, his words making Eden's face fall.
"What?" The girl's heart felt like it was about to burst out of her chest at the thought of her family doing something like that. "How do you know?"
"A couple of nights ago, they hunted me in the woods and I saw your uncle there, and when he dropped off Allison this morning, I recognized him."
Eden took in Scott's words and quickly found a place leaning against the wall purely for a grounding measure. "There's no fucking way my mom's family are hunters. I mean if you'd see her, you understand there's no way."
"Your mom might not be a hunter, but Allison's father is." Stiles quipped, making the girl look at him with an intense stare. This was the first time he had ever seen emotional turmoil swirling in her eyes. "So you didn't know."
"Of course, I didn't know, Dickhead." Eden hissed, crossing her arms in annoyance, "Don't you think if I knew, I would've tried to kill Scott the moment I saw those claw marks on your desk chair?" Both of them opened and closed their mouths as they tried to come up with an answer, but nothing came to mind. The moment of silence gave Eden the perfect opportunity to speak again. "Is this seriously why you idiots have been ignoring me?"
"Well..."
"Don't you think this could've been resolved with maybe, I don't know, asking me?" Eden seethed her anger towards the situation finally coming through. "Don't you think I was kind of freaking out with the new revelation that supernatural creatures exist and one happens to like my cousin?"
"We didn't know, we thought maybe you were lying about not knowing," Scott answered, looking at Stiles as he nodded in agreement.
"You could've been in it for the long con, we weren't sure." Stiles chimed in, defending their choices.
"Boys," Eden started with a sadistic glare twisting on her feature that made both their stomachs drop, "If I wanted to kill you, you'd know."
Stiles gulped as he quickly glanced between Scott and Eden, making sure the other boy had the same reaction as him. With the way Scott was opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water, it was clear Eden's intimidation was working. "Yep, got it."
"Good," Eden quipped, straightening up from her place on the wall. "Now that I know my family is filled with a bunch of crazy killers, I need a smoke. So I'll see you dickheads later."
Before they could even utter a word, the girl was off stalking down the hall with her books tightly in her grasp as she made her way to the back entrance of the school so she could smoke in peace. The boys just watched her walk away, trying to understand what just happened.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
EDEN WALKED OUT of her English class with Stiles hot on her trail. The moment those doors flew open and she walked into the hallway, Stiles was right behind her talking about a million different things all at once. Eden tried to hold in her own colorful words for the boy, but the longer he kept talking, she was going to lose her mind.
The moment the girl was back in class after lunch, Stiles Stilinski flocked to her like a moth to a flame. He began telling her everything that they had kept from her due to the hunter accusation. And she had missed a lot. But in the back of her mind, she couldn't stop thinking about her family being hunters.
They tried to kill Scott on Friday night. The thought of them trying to hurt Scott made her chest tightened. He was just a kid, he had never done anything wrong, he was just sprung into this new world without warning. They were just going to kill him, because of his newfound werewolf powers. It was sick. He was just a sixteen-year-old boy.
Even though there was an urge to ask Allison about this, to divulge the secret her cousin most definitely didn't know. She promised Scott and Stiles up and down that she wouldn't reveal their secret. And Eden was one to never break a promise. So she kept it to herself, but as time passed by, the revelation about her family was eating her up inside. It also didn't help that Stiles was following her around like a lost puppy, a task most definitely brought up by Scott to make sure she wouldn't spill anything to anyone.
While Stiles and his words were annoying at times, Eden didn't mind his presence and everything he found out regarding werewolves and the whole situation at foot. She didn't understand the extent of how deep those boys were in. The fact that they found half of a dead body and thought another werewolf, the one that bit Scott, had something to do with it. This was a whole new territory that Eden didn't know if she had the guts to fully step into. But it looked like she didn't have much of a choice when Stiles dragged Scott away from his locker to listen to a conversation his dad was having with the principal.
"Tell me what they're saying."
Eden and the two boys peered around the corner, watching the sheriff speak to the principal about something that Stiles had deemed important. When silence followed Stiles' request, the boy shook Scott's shoulder lightly, "Can you hear 'em?"
The blonde's heart thudded in her chest waiting for Scott to tell them what was being said. "Curfew because of the body."
Stiles scoffed, straightening up from his slightly crouching position, "Unbelievable, my dad's out looking for a rabid animal, while the jerk-off who killed the girl is just hanging out, doing whatever he wants."
Eden bit her nail nervously but pulled back when Stiles sent her a glance. "You can't exactly tell your dad the truth about...what's his name? Derek?"
The boys nodded as she looked at them for clarification. Stiles sighed as he watched his father from a distance. "I can do something."
Eden and Scott briefly made nervous eye contact as Stiles' words fell over them like a fearful fog. Scott sent the boy a questioning glance. "Like what?"
"I could find the other half of the body."
Both of the teens in front of him froze, their mouths slightly opened in surprise. Stiles didn't wait for any responses from them as he stalked away, leaving the two standing there gawking at him. Eden felt a sickening feeling bubble in her stomach at the thought of him going out and searching for the body alone. She looked at Scott and found him looking right at her. "We're gonna have to go with him, aren't we?"
Scott sighed, nodding his head before he let it fall back against the brick wall behind him. "Most definitely."
"Great," Eden coughed as she straightened up against the wall behind her. "Well, I'm going to make sure Stiles thinks through this. I am not getting arrested...again."
Just as the girl was about to walk away, Scott caught the last of her words that she said under her breath. His face paled in surprise. "Wait again?"
"I got arrested for stealing a pack of gum when I was thirteen." Eden shrugged, the memory coming back to her like a ton of bricks. "My mom thought it would teach me a lesson. But all it taught me was how nasty jail cells are and how much I hate cops."
Eden bothered to stick around to hear Scott's response because she could no longer see the usually bouncy walk of Stiles down the hall. She knew if she didn't go search for him now, she would never find him until he was ready to enact his plan.
