the murder mission. ╱ season three, episode six.

USUALLY BEING out in the unknowing world of the undead would make Toby nervous. But at the moment, there was nothing that made him happier than hearing the leaves crunch under his feet as they trudged in the woods. He felt elated, relieved, that he was no longer in that place. While it was a bit daunting that they now had to find another place, another refuge, Toby knew there was somewhere better. There had to be, Woodbury couldn't just be it.

Birds in the distance chirped a lovely tune as he came back from the heavy sleep that took over him as soon as they set up camp just a few hours ago. He wished to be in a dream state for longer, his body ached for it. But the cold, dewy ground was doing absolutely nothing for his back. He was mad at himself for getting used to sleeping on a couch, hell, even in a place with walls around him.

Every branch breaking kept him on high alert, worried that it was either biters on their tail or the Governor's men coming to take their heads. He wished things would be different, he wanted them to be different, he wanted a safe place for Thomas, for Michonne, for himself.

Michonne deserved a place to rest her head, it was clear that she hadn't had an ounce of sleep since they got taken to Woodbury, the woman had been on high alert since everything went down. It's understandable, she didn't trust them, so how could she sleep in a place that might hurt her? It was valid, but he worried how much more of it she could take. What was gonna happen when she finally breaks? He didn't know how he was gonna take care of both of them, but if it ever got down to it, he would do what he needed to do. Michonne has taken care of them for so long, it was just a matter of time before he was going to return the favor.

It was weird being out here just the three of them. Usually, Andrea would be talking up a storm, cracking jokes trying to get Thomas and him to laugh. There were certain things he noticed now that she was gone. Oddly he missed it, he really did. Now, everything was quiet, no one said much, to be fair there wasn't much that needed to be said. But he still missed the attempts of conversation from the blonde.

He also missed the attention the woman gave Thomas. Toby worried about not being enough for the younger boy. He didn't talk enough, he wasn't as open as he needed to be for him. He thought that the boy needed much more than what he could give. And often Andrea was able to give him that, and he never knew how much he appreciated it until now until she was gone.

In ways he regrets how it ended, he hated that he never got to say thank you, and he hated that he never even hugged her. Even though she hurt him, questioning his ability to care for his brother tore him apart more than he would like to admit. But she was still his friend, she was there for him for eight months straight. And now that was gone, with no resolution, she was just out of his life.

While he wanted to dwell on it, he shouldn't. There are other problems that he needs to worry about. There will always be plenty of others that he meets along the way, and Andrea was just a temporary person that he thought was forever, but he should've known.

The soft breeze traveled through the air, lightly brushing against the trees above the three survivors. Toby laid on his back, lightly reveling in the morning sun that was peeking through the trees. He admired the streams of light, seeing beauty in the image. It seemed so ethereal in such a dark world around them. Since the world ended, Toby had begun noticing small things in nature that seem so timeless. In his previous life, he was always on the go, never stopping to appreciate the world around him. Now looking back, he regretted it. He wished he took a moment to appreciate how beautiful everything was.

A lot of Toby's time is now spent in the present, ignoring all the dreadful possibilities hiding behind every corner. He wasn't like he once was, he had changed, and grown significantly since he lost everything from his old life. He doesn't like to be engrossed in his past, it was exactly what it was, the past, he can't change the mistakes he made along the way. His priority at the moment is to be the best person he can be pertaining to the conditions he's in. He will do everything in his power to keep the two people he cares about most alive. Even if that means he has to die in the process. They deserve to live, they deserve to grow and have a life, and while he wants to be there as well, if he isn't, so be it.

"Toby, look what Michonne gave me,"

Thomas' excited voice rose through his melodramatic thoughts. Sitting up, Toby glanced to his side to see his little brother holding a dagger with a thrilled smile twisting on his lips. His eyes widened slightly, not expecting one of the first things he sees is his little brother holding a knife.

The older boy sent him an impressed look, "Hey, that's sick,"

Thomas nodded along with glee as his eyes were still glued to the steel object in his hands. Toby sent a quick questioning glance to the woman that was leaning against the tree as she was on watch. Michonne shrugged at the look, "Thought he would need something since there's only two of us now,"

Toby went to reply but Thomas' excited tone rose above his thoughts, "You can teach me how to kill biters now,"

"Yeah, I can," The boy replied with a tight-lipped smile, but it wasn't genuine. There was a hesitance in his voice as he spoke, it scared him that the boy was excited about killing biters. He hated that was their reality now, he knew that the boy needed to learn, but he was nervous. Toby feared something would happen if they got into those types of situations. They're very delicate and hesitating sometimes isn't an option. Toby feared that if there was just a second where he wasn't paying attention, Thomas would go down without the chance of getting back up.

With a few beats of silence, the whole energy between them changed and Michonne began packing up their things. Toby knew what was happening, it was time to move. Throughout last night, there were signs of them being followed and after being here for a few hours, it was time to move again, or else they would be on top of them.

He could tell Michonne had a plan, but the woman had yet to tell him. The boy could almost see the wheels turning in her head, he stopped himself from asking, knowing she would tell him when the time was right. But with the impending fight that was about to erupt with the Governor's men, he itched to know as soon as possible.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

LEAVING THE temporary camp they set up was easier than Toby thought, he was more than exhausted and assumed that his body would put up more of a fight. It wasn't the case, maybe it was faux adrenaline, but he had been trucking along just fine behind Michonne, with Thomas right by his side. There was a part of his brain that wanted to stop, to drop to the ground and sleep forever, but the bigger part ignored the request and pushed forward. Knowing that if he stopped, he would be caught.

Luckily, the only thing they ran into was a handful of biters, but they were quickly put down. Toby could tell his little brother was itching to help them, but he wasn't ready. His learning was not about to start now, it couldn't. For Toby's sake, he wanted to start it in a controlled environment, while he knew that there is no controlled environment out here, he just wanted to make sure there wasn't as much of a risk where the possible ending could leave Thomas dead.

Michonne was adamant about that too, making sure the only people fighting the dead were her and Toby. He still was unclear about the plan, but when he watched Michonne start hacking the dead biters on the ground, it became a little clearer. Go back. The message was daunting and left a sour feeling in Toby's stomach watching Michonne chop up the dead and make a menacing message out of their body parts.

"Alright, this is what's going to happen," Michonne started as she stood back up from placing the last of the body parts. "You two are going to be a good amount away, hiding near the tree where we're going to put all our stuff,"

"Hell no," Toby immediately interjected, his voice stern as he got upset that Michonne was expecting to do it all alone. "We're doing this together, there's no way I'm going to let you do this by yourself,"

Michonne sighed to herself, glancing at the boy with a weary glare, "You're not going to leave Thomas by himself, and I'm not letting them get near you whatsoever,"

Toby rolled his eyes in irritation. There's no way he was letting her do this alone, he can't let her get hurt. They were out for blood, there was no way she was going to make it out alive if she did it by herself. There had got to be more than four of them, she wouldn't be able to take all of them out by herself. Toby wanted to argue, he really did, he wanted to make sure they all got out of this alive. But with the stubborn glare on Michonne's features, he knew that putting up a fight would do him no good. And he knew if they found Thomas that would be even worse. While he wanted to help her, he knew she wouldn't budge on his job.

"Fine, but if shit gets hairy, you better tell me because I'm not letting them hurt you,"

Michonne stared at him for a moment, and did something he never would've expected. She hugged him. Her grip was tight, but not constricting. She held him just as a mother would, hand resting softly on the back of his head. Toby didn't hesitate to hug her back, practically melting into it. The warm embrace reminded him of his mother's hugs, the feeling made his chest ache, but he pushed it aside, hoping that this was a "hope it all goes according to plan" hug.

The woman let out a sigh as she released him, going immediately into another hug but now with the younger boy next to Toby. He bit his bottom lip out of uneasiness, hating that these hugs felt like a goodbye, like a just in case. He could tell his brother thought the same thing, but neither of them said anything, just letting the woman have her moment, knowing she needed it more than them.

When the woman stepped back from the boys with a deep breath, she gave them a tight-lipped smile, "Alright, let's get you both into position, we've got assholes to get rid of,"

"Sounds good, let's get this over with," Toby sighed, a faux look of confidence washing over his features, hoping to give the woman in front of him some comfort.

Immediately after, the two boys were brought to an edge of a small clearing, a few bushes had built up around a large oak tree, and there was a small opening, a place that could never fit more than Thomas and all their stuff. Toby didn't say anything to Michonne about it, knowing that this hiding spot was meant for only Thomas. His job was to protect the boy, so while the younger boy hidden in the tree, Toby circled it, eyes everywhere, trying to catch any hint of a threat.

Hit bat felt heavy in his hand, but he ignore it, tightening his grip, knowing that it was his only way of defense. He knew the Governor's people had guns, and the people that were coming after them most definitely had them. So, his only advantage was having to be on top of him before they even knew he was there.

He could hear Thomas shuffling in the tree, a few inches behind him, it wasn't too loud so he didn't bother to say anything to the boy. Toby made a few rounds, eyes scouting the woods. Boredom began to itch in the back of his mind, he hated waiting for something bad to happen, it made him antsy, just wanting to get the bad parts over with.

A branch in the distance snapping caught his attention, snapping his head in the direction of the noise, he ducked into the bushes. His stomach dropped, soon heard gunshots fire out. They found us. Toby remained silent as the footsteps began getting closer. He gripped his bat tighter with each second, raising it in the air, preparing to swing if necessary.

"Toby..."

The familiar voice made him freeze, his heart began thudding loudly in his chest as his eyes fell upon a recognizable boy with a blond mullet. A gun was clutched firmly in his hand as his eyes bounced around the area, searching for the brunet boy. Toby instinctively hid closer to the tree, not wanting the boy to see him. He felt like he was going to throw up, the asshole had played him. He was trying to kill him for fucksake. He should've known. He knew he couldn't trust anyone from Woodbury.

"Where are you? I just wanna talk..."

The boy felt a bead of sweat drip down his forehead, looking down at the ground, he desperately tried to find a rock, something that he can throw in the distance that would distract the backstabber, so he could sneak up on him and get him from the back. But before he could find something, a ferocious snarl practically was on him before he could even think.

The biter garbled as Toby immediately tried to shove it back, but the creature was scarily stronger than him so it pushed him out of the bushes. He struggled to get its hands off of him, but the grip was dangerously tight. Adrenaline and fear swam through his veins, scared that the biter was gonna bite him. And just as its teeth were about to sink into his forearm a gunshot rang out and the undead creature crumbled to the ground.

Toby let out a shaky breath, instantly looking up from the biter and towards the source of the shot. The blond stared at him with a sadistic smile, gun still pointed at him. Toby turned to him with his bat securely in his hands.

"Figured you were obsessed with me," Toby snapped, eyes scrutinizing. His heart pounded in his chest, wondering when the boy was gonna shoot. But since he was caught, might as well say some snarky shit in the end. "I just knew you were secretly just the Governor's lap dog,"

The blond snorted, "Even with a gun aimed at you, you're still mean as shit,"

"My specialty," The brunet smiled condescendingly, "Figured I get a few digs in before you kill me,"

"I'm not here to kill you, Toby," Nick replied, the gun lowering slightly, "The Governor wants you to be brought in alive, but your brother...he's another story,"

Toby clenched his jaw at the mention of the boy, who was so so close. He tried to think of a way to get him out of here alive, but there was no way he could do that unless he got the gun away from Nick. The boy moved away from the tree where his brother was hiding, trying to get the blond's view away from the tree entirely. Just as he hoped, Nick instinctively moved his body in the direction he went.

"Why would he want me?"

Nick sent him a look of annoyance, "You see Toby, he's taking quite an interest in you, and still he thinks you would make a great addition to his men," Bullshit. He just wants to kill me himself.

"Please, I'd rather die than go anywhere near Woodbury," Toby spit, a grimace washing over his face at the idea.

"Woodbury isn't as bad as you make it out to be, it's actually a really nice place to live,"

"Are you joking right now?" Toby exclaimed, completely dumbfounded at the conversation that was playing out. "I don't know if you know this, but your kind of out here to kill my group, orders by your amazing leader,"

"He has his reasons,"

"Oh yeah, what're his reasons for killing my brother? Other than that he gets in the way of his plans," Toby snarled, clenching his fists tightly, his own words angering himself.

"I don't ask questions, I just do my goddamn job,"

"What the hell is your job?" Toby questioned, scrutinizing the other boy by judgingly looking him up and down, "All I see is the Governor's bitch, who does all his dirty work for him,"

Nick visibly tensed up at his words, the game they were playing now long gone, as he stepped closer aiming the gun towards Toby's abdomen, cocking the gun soon after, "Don't make me hurt you Toby, just tell me where you're brother is,"

"Touch my brother and I'll kill you,"

Nick laughed whole-heartedly, which made the brunet intensify his glare, "Now Sweetheart, how are you gonna do that when I'm the one with a gun?"

"Trust me," Toby hissed, brown eyes threatening, "I'll find a goddamn way,"

Suddenly out of the corner of his eye he noticed Thomas coming out of the tree, knife clutched tightly in his visibly trembling hand. Toby gulped, trying to not look at him, trying to not give him away. He was gonna kill Nick.

"Please enlighten me, how are you gonna do that?"

The boy was silent as a church mouse, Thomas made no noise as he slowly crept up to the blond. The younger boy's heart pounded in his chest, his stomach in knots as he raised the knife higher. Thomas didn't know if he could kill him, he didn't know if he had the guts. But Toby was held at gunpoint, and he didn't want his brother to get hurt. So with a silent breath, the boy plunged the knife deep into the shoulder, hoping that the boy in front of him would drop the gun out of pain.

The blond let out a scream of anguish as the knife slipped out of his shoulder. Thomas jumped back, knife still in hand, watching the older boy drop the gun out of surprise in order to grip his shoulder. His eyes widened in fear, watching the boy in front of him twist around to give him a menacing glare.

"You little shit, I'm gonna kill you,"

As Nick began rushing towards him, a deafening click sounded through the air that made him freeze in his spot. "I wouldn't move if I were you asshole,"

The blond turned slowly, hand holding his shoulder with a tight grip, he gave Toby a condescending look, "What're you gonna do? Shoot me?"

The boy in question tensed up, the gun never faltering, "Bold of you to assume I wouldn't,"

"Then do it, pretty boy," Nick hissed, glaring in an attempt to push the boy over the edge, "What're you waiting for?"

But there was something that washed over Toby, he couldn't do it. The boy didn't understand his next movements, but before he could stop himself, he stormed up to the blond, slamming the butt of the gun roughly on the bridge of his nose. Nick was down on the ground in seconds, body limp as his eyes fluttered shut. Leave him to the biters.

Toby let out a nervous breath, the events finally just sinking in. His eyes jumped up to Thomas, the boy was already staring at him with the same look in his eyes. Before he could even register it, Thomas had leaped into his arms, the hug crushing. Toby quickly reciprocated the embrace, finding comfort that his brother was completely unharmed.

"Are you okay?" Toby questioned, resting a hand on his shoulder so he could step back and get a good look at the boy.

Thomas nodded in a daze, staring up at his older brother, "Are you?"

The boy in question snorted, "Kinda, getting held at gunpoint, isn't exactly my favorite thing,"

Thomas was about to say something, but his words got caught in his throat the moment the sound of a branch snapping echoed through the air. Both froze in their spot, Toby was quick to point his gun in the direction of the noise. But it was instantly dropped when his eyes fell upon Michonne hurriedly limping towards them.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" The boy gasped, instantaneously rushing up to her so he could help her stabilize herself.

The woman nodded, wrapping an arm around Toby's shoulders, "I got shot by Merle,"

"Jesus," Toby exclaimed, looking down at her thigh, noticing the blood that was gushing out of the wound. "W-What do you need me to do?"

"Nothing," Michonne interjected, eyes lightly closing due to the pain throbbing in her thigh, "We need to get out of here, those gunshots got the attention of a lot of biters, so we need to move,"

"Okay," Toby replied, eyes snapping to Thomas who was just staring at them with an overwhelmed look in his eyes, "Tommy, get our bags out of the tree, we need to go now,"

The younger boy did as asked with a small nod. Within moments, all of their bags were on their respective backs and they were all swiftly rushing in the opposite direction of where Michonne came from. With the gun into the waistband of his pants, Toby gripped his bat tightly in one of his hands while the other held onto Michonne's waist so she could move faster from the extra support. He had no clue where they were going, but all he knows is they were getting the hell out of there.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

EXHAUSTION WAS finally hitting the boy as the nonstop movement began to get to him. Toby felt like they had been running for hours, after narrowly escaping a small group of biters, his lack of sleep began to hit him. He knew it hadn't been that long, but it felt like an eternity. He just wanted to take a rest, but he knew Merle was still hot on their trail, so there was no option of stopping. They had to keep moving, if they stopped, it would end in someone dying. Toby didn't see any other option, either they kept moving or they would get caught.

Toby wished there was just a place where they can hold up, just so they could all get some rest. And plus, Toby really thought Michonne needed some medical attention, and he didn't know how much longer she could go without some compression on her wound. Every once in a while, Toby would glance over at her just to make sure she was okay. He worried that at any moment she would pass out in his arms. Not running on any sleep and a gunshot wound isn't a good scenario whatsoever.

He could tell Thomas wasn't doing much better either, the bags under his eyes and an empty stomach is just leading to him passing out as well. Occasionally, the boy would have them pick up their pace, just so they can get out of these goddamn woods. It seemed to be working as he began to notice a break in the constant trees. In the distance, he saw a small outlet mall attached to a road. Relief flooded his veins, hoping they could find some food and shelter in one of the buildings.

Once they broke through the tree line, Michonne removed Toby's grip so she could walk on her own. The boy immediately opened his mouth to argue, but the glare she sent him made him shut his mouth instantly. She began limping towards the building and without fighting back, the Emerson siblings followed.

But as they rounded the building, Michonne quickly sunk back into the wall. Toby furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, going to poke his head out to see what she hid from, thinking it was just a few biters. The boy's eyes widened when saw three people talking next to a red vehicle. The two women had their backs facing them, while the man had his attention on the things that he was carrying in a red shopping basket.

Toby pulled back, making eye contact with Michonne, hoping she would tell him what the plan was. But the woman in question just shrugged, leaning her head against the brick behind her, closing her eyes as she held her leg in pain. Toby sighed to himself, questioning if maybe he could go ask the three strangers for help. But then again, strangers in this world aren't exactly the nicest people. But the boy just decided to observe them, all so he could scope them out.

"We just hit the powdered formula jackpot," The man mentioned, eyes cast down at the red supermarket basket he was holding.

The short-haired brunette was glancing down at the basket as well, "Oh, thank god,"

A baby? People with a baby can't be too bad.

"I also got beans, batteries, cocktail wieners, and many mustards," The man continued with an amused smile on his face, eyes glancing up at the two women in front of him, "It's a straight shot back to the prison from here. Probably make it in time for dinner,"

Two of them began packing up the car while the other one stood off to the side now looking up at the sky. Toby had yet to see her face, but from the back, she looked so familiar, he just couldn't put his finger on it. And it was really starting to piss him off.

"I like the quiet," The familiar woman said to the two strangers. Her words made Toby freeze completely, he'd recognize that voice anywhere. His heart pounded harshly in his chest, and he took a step back, clutching the area, trying to calm himself down. Sabrina.

Tears pooled in his eyes, watching her turn towards the other two with a smile, she looked radiant. Her aura was glowing, Toby never thought he would see her again. But here she was, standing in the middle of a random outlet mall parking lot with two strangers Toby had never seen before.

He snapped his eyes to Michonne, this whole moment feeling completely surreal to him. He couldn't breathe, his old life and new one were colliding and he wanted nothing more than to go out there and have a reunion with his sister. But the woman next to him snapped him out of it.

"What's wrong with you?"

Her hushed words pulled him back to the current state of his reality, where he looked completely crazy while he was looking at the other people just outside their reach. "My sister, she's out there,"

Thomas perked up at the words, his lips lifting into a vicious smile as his eyes lit up, "Sabrina's alive?"

Toby nodded aggressively, pointing toward the strangers and his sister, "She's right out there, we need to show ourselves,"

Michonne immediately shook her head, "Absolutely not, we don't know who she's with, they could be dangerous,"

"They were talking about cocktail wieners and baby formula. I think we're okay, they could probably help you,"

There was a look of skepticism falling over the woman's features, "I don't know Toby,"

The boy's energy deflated, his hopes immediately disappearing, "That's my sister, I need to see her,"

His words sounded so defeated, they visibly affected Michonne as her gears began turning in her head. She was thinking about how to do this. With the look on Toby's face, she knew she needed to. They needed to show themselves, she looked at her boys and their faces solidified that. She wanted to make them happy and she knew that these strangers might help them and could potentially help her with her wound. Just as she was about to say something the voice of the person they'd been running from broke through the air and her whole plan completely faltered.

"And where is it y'all good people are calling home?" Toby tensed up, slightly poking his head out to see a cocky Merle standing on the other side of the building with a shit-eating smile on his lips. The three jumped around in surprise to see the man standing there.

"Merle?" The man questioned.

The man in question stared at him in amazement, "Wow,"

As he moved closer, the unfamiliar woman jumped to defense, pointing her handgun in his direction, "Hey, back the hell up!"

"Okay, okay Honey," Merle shot back, slowly raising his hands in the air. "Jesus,"

"You made it," The unfamiliar man stated as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Can you tell me, is my brother alive?"

The three in front of him quickly exchanged looks at his words. There was a moment of silence that broke out between the four that made Toby want to throw up. It was taking everything in him to not go out there right now. But he knew if he did, there would be people getting killed.

The Korean man ripped through the silence forcefully, "Yeah,"

"Hey, can you take me to him? And I'll call it even on everything that happened up there in Atlanta. No hard feelings," His words brought another break of silence as they all stared at his arm with probably the same shock that Toby had when he first saw it. Merle seemed amused by the stares as he smiled and laughed, "You like that? Well, I found myself a medical supply warehouse, fixed it up myself. Pretty cool, huh?"

There was no amusement from the others, guns never lowering. That told Toby a lot about how they viewed Merle. "We'll tell Daryl you're here and he'll come out to meet you,"

Daryl. The realization hit Toby like a semi truck, everything immediately clicked and connected. This was Andrea's old group, the prison, the two strangers. They were all a part of Andrea's group and seem to be currently. He just couldn't believe that Sabrina was too. In quite large and dangerous world, everything suddenly felt so small.

With Toby so lost in the shock of it all, he only snapped out of it when a loud gunshot cut through the silence and he snapped his eyes out to the small group to find Merle suddenly having his sister in a chokehold with a pistol pointed at her head. Dread thundered through his body, his gaze jumped to Michonne who was watching the entire exchange as well. Without realizing it, Toby felt the woman grip his hand tightly to center him.

"Let go of her!"

"Put that gun in the car right now," Merle hissed, his grip clearly tightening on Sabrina as she squirmed in discomfort at the harsh hold. The Korean man faltered, gauging whether to comply or not. But he ultimately did as Sabrina whimpered in pain, the grip seeming too much for her. "There you go, now, we're gonna go for a little drive,"

"We're not going back to our camp,"

"No, we're going somewhere else," Merle hissed, pushing the gun further into Sabrina's head. "Get in the car, Glenn! You're driving,"

The woman recoiled at the pressure of the barrel. Toby was so close to jumping out and trying to save her. His heart ached just standing there and watching. He felt so helpless, he needed to do something, that was his goddamn sister's life getting threatened by that asshole. Merle began to lift her up from the ground so they could get into the car, and the other two pleaded for him not to hurt her. If Toby was going to do something, it was now or never. The boy angled his body, whipping the gun out from behind his back, readying himself so he could go diffuse the situation.

But just as he was about to make his move, the woman next to him grabbed his arm roughly. Toby's eyes flashed to her ferociously, hating that this was the moment she was picking to stop him. She shook her head, eyes intense, almost daring him to do it, reminding him that there would not be a good outcome to this. And before he could fight back, the car was instantly starting and pulling out of the parking lot seconds later. The moment the vehicle was out of sight, Toby walked out behind the wall in a fit of rage.

"What the hell Michonne?" Toby exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air in irritation, "I could've stopped him, he fucking took my sister,"

"I know," The woman said curtly, her short response only making his fury increase.

"Are you serious? I could've saved them for fucksake, and all you have to say is "I know"?"

"It wasn't a good look, there were a lot of things that could happen if you went out there,"

Toby hadn't ever been this angry at her before, and while he should've taken a breath to calm down, he couldn't help himself, like he always does, he lets his emotions bubble over, "Do you even give a shit? Or are you just covering your ass?"

The words visibly had hit Michonne like a ton of bricks, she was immediately on the defensive, "It's dangerous and reckless, you could've gotten hurt. That was my main concern, not myself,"

"Yeah sure seems like it," Toby hissed, running a hand through his hair out of nervousness as he began to pace, "They just got fucking kidnapped, how the hell can we save them when we can barely get to Woodbury without getting shot?"

"We need reinforcements," Michonne concluded, moving towards him and placing a soft, comforting hand on his shoulder. The boy instantly recoiled at the touch, still devastated by the woman's actions. The motion visibly hurt Michonne but she forced herself to swallow her pain and finished her thought, "We're going to that prison,"

The boy froze at the words, eyes flashing up to meet her gaze. He thought about it for a second and then nodded in agreement, "I'm in,"

Looks like they've got a mission on their hands. New people and new guns getting pointed at them. Toby could hardly wait.
