The pitter patter of the rain outside was starting to grow louder.

Sighing as she stood out in the rain by the bus stop, (Y/n) blew a strand of hair out of her face before readjusting a napping (S/n) on her back to make her more comfortable. Their rain coats were now dripping wet, with droplets of water falling from the edges of their hoods every now and then. The thunder roared from above and the lightning cackled, but (Y/n) payed no mind to it and instead leaned forward over the road slightly to see if the bus was coming.

It wasn't.

The (H/c)ette sighed and leaned back again, readjusting (S/n) on her back to fix her position once more. The other girls' arm was draped over (Y/n)'s shoulder, and her other one hung loosely at her side. Her chin was rested on (Y/n)'s shoulder as well, and one could see druel escaping the corner of her lips if they looked close enough.

It was currently 6:30 AM. Three hours ago, the twin girls had run away from home and didn't bother looking back—not after what they saw.

No one would know what happened to the (L/n)'s, because no one would care.

Author: So here's a preview for an upcoming Steven Universe × Child! Reader book I'm currently making! I only have one chapter done, though, so you all may have to wait a while before I publish it. Sorry.

But aside from that, let me tell you about the AU this story takes place in! I didn't change too much about the Steven Universe: Future timeline, but I did add a few 'bonus episodes' for the story.

Okay, off topic. Back to the AU I created for this book. Ahem.

So, basically, this book takes place in an AU I am currently calling 'Soul Children'. The Soul Children AU is similar to the Soulmate AU, except the words on ones wrist wouldn't lead them to a romantic partner, but it would instead lead them to (a) child(ren). The child(ren) they are lead to would have words on their wrists, too, except they would lead them to their Fated Parents. (Wow these sound like such cheesy names I am so sorry.)

Annnd that's all I'm telling you. More info about Soul Children and Fated Parents will be explained in the actual book, so I guess you guys are gonna have to be a little patient ;)
