"Yeah, I'm not sure this is gonna work," You said with a deadpanned expression as you crossed your arms; watching the creatures you soon found out were named 'Watermelon Steven' as they tried to stick a giant log in the ground.
You sighed and shook your head, pinching the bridge of your nose before walking over to help them since they were obviously having some trouble. "You know guys, I can build my own house. . ." You said as you took the log from their grasp before walking a few feet away from them and slamming it roughly into the ground.
The Watermelon Steven then suddenly began to panic. You blinked and rose a brow as you turned to face them, confused, when you saw one of them gesturing towards your back.
"Ah. . . right. . ." You sighed and rubbed the back of your neck as you looked away from them; frowning when you felt your finger tips graze over the top edges of your now-cracked gem.
You see, about five months ago, you were just flying through the sky; trying to find a place to rest in before you could continue your journey, when a large storm suddenly hit. You had tried flying out of it, but the thick fog had made it impossible, so you were eventually lost in it. And the fact that the waves were getting larger was not helping. You were able to manage for a while; just dodging the waves, but you were beginning to grow tired.
And eventually, you stopped to take a breath; not knowing of the large wave coming up from behind you until it crashed into your very being.
Then the next thing you knew, you were on the shore of an island you hadn't seen before. You had tried flying away, but for some reason, your wings would sort of. . . glitch out every time you opened them and you would end up falling back down.
It wasn't until you met the Watermelon Steven that you finally realized why your wings weren't working; why you couldn't fly. . .
.
.
.
Your gem. It had somehow gotten cracked after you passed out in the middle of that storm.
Now, the damage isn't that bad, honestly; it's just a small crack that goes along the center of your gem. But. . . not being able to fly. . . meant that you were stuck on that island with the Waters Steven's.
And so here you are.
A few of the Watermelon Steven's quickly ran over to you and grabbed your hands before dragging you over to another log and having you sit down on it. You sighed and ran a hand through your bangs as one of the Watermelon Steven's walked up behind you and checked your gem, making sure that no more damage had been caused to it.
You then chuckled and crossed your arms, leaning forward slightly. "Guys, I'm fine. Really. It's not like I actually used my wings this time. . ." You said, muttering the last part slowly.
The Watermelon Steven's all glanced at eachother, and then crossed their arms and turned back to you with a firm look.
You blanked back at them and internally sighed.
They're almost as protective as he is. . . You thought to yourself; your shoulders going tense slightly at the thought.
You then shook your head and stood up, dusting yourself off. "You know what? Why don't we all take a break. I'm gonna go for a walk in the woods, see ya." And then you left before the Watermelon Steven could stop you or try to convince you to take one of them with you.
"It's sweet of them to care so much about me," You began as you pushed back a few leaves to walk past them. "But they do realize that I can still take care of myself even though my gem is cracked, right?" You questioned before sighing and scratching the back of your neck.
"To think: I leave Beach City for five months, and then five more months later I'm stuck on some random island with an entire village of watermelons that look like. . . him. . ." You frowned and hugged yourself slightly. "I wonder how he's doing right now. . ." Your shoulders stiffened when more thoughts began to attack you all of a sudden, Are they taking care of Lunar? What if they decided to take him to one of those 'orphanages'? What if they aren't sending him to bed at the right time? What if—
Your thoughts were soon cut off when you heard the sound of waves crashing. Immediately snapping your head up, you soon saw that you had almost walked off the edge of a cliff due to being so lost in thought.
Your eyes widened slightly and you instantly took a step back from the cliff, hugging yourself more tightly. There was no need to get your gem cracked even more than it already was, that's for sure.
"I should really watch where I'm going. . ." You muttered, turning away from the cliff.
You continued to walk through the forest for a good while. You stepped over stones, logs, and tree stumps. It was getting darker and darker by the minute, until the stars slowly began to pop up in the sky one by one. The mushrooms, both large and small, soon began to emit a glow from where they sat; lightning your path with the fireflies that were beginning to wake up as well. The distant hoot of an owl sounded in your ears, making you hum and smile in content as you closed your eyes.
When the sound of running water was heard, you slowly opened your eyes again.
Sitting before you was your favorite place to relax. Not even the Watermelon Steven's knew of it because they had never bothered to venture out this far into the island. Which is a shame, because it was honestly quite beautiful.
The sight before you was illuminated by the light of the moon, which was being reflected off of a pond made up of crystal blue water. The water was so clear, in fact, that you could actually see the various plant life and types of colorful fishes swimming around in it if you looked. Surrounding the pond, was a shore made up of light yellow sand; so light that it almost looked as white as snow. Large palm trees and even a few weeping willows surrounded the pond as well, some of the trees holding plenty of glowing mushrooms on them, which only lit up the area more. To top it all off, at the back of the pond sat a beautiful and majestic waterfall.
And behind that waterfall, sat a cave.
You smiled and dusted your woolen cloak off before walking towards the pond and hopping across it with the help of some rocks that sat perfectly aligned from the shore to the waterfall. Once you stood in front of the waterfall, you closed your eyes, took a deep breath, and then jumped into it.
"Whew. . ." You laughed silently and began to wring-out your soaked hair. "Never gets old," You said as you stood up and began to walk further into the cave, your path being very visible thanks to the glowing crystals that stuck out of the caves walls.
Once you were finished getting the water out of your hair, you shook your head and blinked, getting your eyes used to the different lighting of the cave. Droplets of water could be heard the farther you went; falling into small puddles below them. Fireflies flew next to you and different colored lizards climbed on the wall past you, but not before sending you a few quick glances. You were a usual guest to this place, it seemed.
Soon, you came upon an entrance to another part of the cave. Smiling happily, you speed walked over to it and pushed the vines hanging above the entrance out of the way, revealing yet another beautiful sight:
"It's nice to be back. . ." You muttered, taking a step into the water and sighing in content when you felt the night breeze fly through your (Long/Short) locks of (F/c) hair behind you.
"Here. . . re. . . n. . . h. . . fu. . .ure~"
Your eyes widened and you gasped, whirling around. "W-Who's there?" You asked, only to be met with no response.
Your breath got caught in your throat and you took a step back further into the water.
You knew that voice. You had a feeling you knew what those words were. You just didn't want to admit it to yourself.
He wasn't here, right? He couldn't be.
You inhaled sharply and stayed silent, waiting for any sound — anymore whispers. . .
.
.
.
The silence was what answered you back.
You sighed, feeling slightly relieved.
Unknowing to you, however, flying in from the large hole atop the cave you stood in, was a pink flower. It fluttered across the rocks and moss, until in finally landed: right in the center of the very water you stood in.

If I could. . . begin to be. . . half of what you think of me, I could do about anything. . .
I could even learn how to love. . . like you. . .
