Chapter VI
"You're. . . so small. . ." You muttered, poking the baby's stomach, earning a feat of giggles from them and causing you to smile. You picked the child up and slowly fell back until you were laying on your back against the soft grass, holding the child up in the air as they giggled and moved their hands around; trying to grab the clouds.
You hummed and set the child down on your chest, allowing them to lay there and play with your hair while you thought of what you would do when you encountered. . . Steven again. . .
You frowned and wrapped your arms around the child, confused thoughts running through your mind.
Why does his name make me feel so. . . weird. . .?
Suddenly, something caught your attention; a sound. You moved your head to the side and your eyes instantly widened at what you saw:
Only a few feet away from you, on a train track, sitting on top of a train (that's what you thought that it was called, at least), was Steven, Amethyst and. . . and Spinel.
You didn't realize you were crying until the child began to wipe away your tears. You chuckled and looked back at the small babe, smiling a little. "Well, she probably doesn't remember me. . ." You muttered, a hint of sadness in your tone as you slowly sat up, still holding the baby close to your chest.
You shook your head and sighed, standing up and opening your wings. "Doesn't matter," You then smiled deviously. "I'm sure Steven would love a little. . . reminder about the fate of his 'home' planet!" You said as you hugged the child close and crouched down. The baby made a few sputtering sounds and giggled as you kissed their head and said,
"It's show time~" And then, you flew off; following after the train.

"Ugh! What happened?" Amethyst groaned as she looked around and ran a hand through her hair, obviously confused.
Steven broke out into a huge grin and ran up to his older-sister figure; happy to finally have her back. "Amethyst, it worked!" He cried out happily as he wrapped his arms around the purple gem and spun her around; the two of them laughing joyously.
Steven sighed in relief when he finally set Amethyst back down, tears brimming the corners of his eyes. Amethyst chuckled and rested her cheek against Steven's chest, letting him know that it was okay.
.
.
.
And then the moment was ruined when a certain pink gem wrapped her long arms around the two and pulled them into her own embrace. Spinel hummed happily and smiled. If (ꀍꏂꋪ ꀷꀤꍏꎭꂦꈤꀷ) Steven was happy, then she was happy.
Amethyst opened her eyes widely and looked over to see the familiar gem resting her head on Steven's shoulders. She gasped and jumped out of Steven's embrace before getting into a threatening stance; surprising both Spinel and Steven. . . mainly Spinel, though.
"W-What are you doing here?!" Amethyst glared at Spinel harshly and grinded her teeth together.
Spinel wrapped her arm around Steven's shoulders and tilted her head to the side as she rose a brow; obviously confused. Steven glanced over to her before looking back over to Amethyst nervously and lifting his hands up in a defensive way.
"S-So, let me explain!" He wasn't given the chance, however, since Amethyst had pulled her whip out and wrapped it around the teenage gem/human boy before pulling him away from Spinel's grasp; shouting: "GET AWAY FROM HIM," Amethyst pulled Steven behind her and held her arm in front of him protectively. "YOU MONSTER!!"
When Amethyst and Steven looked back over to the place Spinel had once stood, their eyes widened at the sight that she was gone.
"Huh?" Amethyst looked around, feeling just as confused as Steven was, when a voice suddenly caught their attention.
"A monster?"
Steven's face slowly morphed into a cringe as him and Amethyst turned to the source of the voice: which was of course Spinel. The pink gem laughed and placed her hands on her hips. "Where is it—"
"Right here."
Steven's eyes went wide at the voice, which echoed throughout the vast skies and made him, Amethyst and Spinel look up with wide eyes. The voice sounded melodic, but also had a mix of insanity in it; so much so that it could only leave someone wanting. . . more.
It made Steven want more, and yet he hadn't a clue why.
In the pale blue sky, what looked like a whirlpool swirled through the clouds before diving downwards towards the trio. Amethyst's eyes widened and she tried to grab Steven's hand and pull him away, but he didn't budge. Amethyst gasped and waved a hand in front of Steven's face; which looked as if it didn't want to look away from the swirling whirlpool that was heading right for him.
"Steven! Snap out of it! We've gotta mov—" Amethyst didn't get to finish that sentence because of the large cloud of dust that had interrupted her. Steven gasped and held his arms in front of his face to prevent any dust from blinding him or getting into his mouth as he coughed.
"W-What—" Steven was, once again, by the same melodic voice, cut off.
"Hello, dove~" The voice was taunting, mocking Steven. But he didn't seem to notice; he didn't seem to care. Because. . .
God, that voice sounded so beautiful to him.
Steven slowly opened his eyes and he was met with the sight of the familiar gem that had caused this mess in the first place. Her (Long/Short) (F/c) hair, her captivating (E/c) eyes, and her taunting smirk with her large, (2F/c) wings illuminating her face made it so hard for Steven to look away.
And he didn't really seem to be complaining about it.
"YOU!' Amethyst's angry shout brought Steven back to reality, and he blinked. He rubbed his tired eyes with his hands as he groaned lowly to himself, hoping that Amethyst nor Spinel heard it; which they didn't, thankfully, but. . . she sure did.
"What's the matter, dove?" The gem asked, using one of her wings to cradle what seemed to be a bundle in her grasp as she took a step towards the gem-hybrid, ignoring Amethyst's warning glare and Spinel's look of curiosity and somewhat. . . familiarity. . .?
"Tired?" When Steven opened his eyes again, his eyes were captured by a pair of shiny (E/c) ones.
Steven gasped, heat rising to his cheeks as he took a step back. He looked over the gems shoulder and saw that Amethyst had been knocked down to the Earth's floor, while Spinel stood behind the winged gem approaching Steven; seemingly oblivious to the fact that he was obviously in danger.
"Ah-ah-ah!" The gem grabbed Steven's chin with her fingers and made him look down at her. She licked her lips and leaned over to Steven's ear, ignoring the red hue covering his face as she whispered,
"Keep your eyes on the prize, dove~"
The gem then laughed and pushed Steven away before opening her wings and flying into the air about him, Amethyst and Spinel.
Amethyst pushed herself up and groaned in pain as she slowly tilted her head upwards to glare at the gem above her. She gritted her teeth and stood up as she pulled her whip out.
"Hey, get back here!!" She cried out, swinging her whip around before aiming it towards the (F/c)ette.
The gem smirked as she looked down at the now sleeping babe in her arms. She was honestly surprised that they hadn't noticed that she had a human child with her, but oh well. When she heard Amethyst call out to her, a shadow casted itself over her eyes as a cheshire grin spread across her face.
"Hehe. . ." The gem caught the whip before it could even wrap itself around her and she pulled on it, causing Amethyst to be pulled forward herself and dig her feet into the Earth's crust to prevent herself from flying into the air with her weapon.
"You're gonna have to try harder than THAT!" The gem yelled out before throwing the whips end back over to Amethyst and opening her wings. Amethyst's eyes widened when the end of her whip flung into her face and the purple gem let out a series of sputtering sounds as the mysterious gem herself glanced back over to Steven from over her shoulder.
The gem chuckled at the dazed look Steven was giving her.
"Time's running out, dove~" The gem said in a sing-songy voice.
Steven blinked and shook his head. He then stood up and narrowed his eyes at the gem that stood above him in the air.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!" He questioned, clenching his fists at his sides.
The gem frowned and turned away from him.
"I'm afraid that's none of your business. . .
.
.
.
"My diamond." And then, she flew off; leaving Steven to stare up at the place where she once was with wide eyes.
". . . Mom, what did you do?"
