Miyagi-Do dojo !!

ALTHOUGH ELIANA DIDN'T CARE FOR SPORTS, she liked being able to defend herself. That's why she joined Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang when they combined.

She enjoyed Daniel's balance oriented lessons. And she found Johnny's unorthodox teachings fun, but challenging.

She had only been a student for a couple weeks but she was learning quick. She was getting good, but if you asked her, she'd say 'I'm alright, but Miguel's way better. A real pro.'

She was on a good schedule, school, practice, ride home with Miguel and Johnny, then chill out in her room for a bit, then sleep and do it all again the next day.

She liked to consistency.

LaRusso resident !!

Eliana sat on the LaRusso's couch, scrolling on her phone and watching whatever was on her Instagram feed. Occasionally viewing and liking a post or reel her friends sent.

This was a new thing, Daniel invited her family to eat dinner with them as a way to get closer together. She wasn't entirely sure if it was because of Sam and Miguel or Daniel and Johnny, but she didn't mind the change.

Eventually, she scrolled to see a video from Zack was posted a few hours ago. It was a video of Kenny dressed in cosplay being laughed at in a park.

He looked ashamed and betrayed. And she couldn't see who, but she had an idea of who was behind the camera.

She quickly stood and darted up the stairs, stopping in front of Anthony's bedroom door and opening it.

He turned his head to her and his eyes were narrow. "When did you get here?"

She held up her phone, the video of Kenny playing on a loop.

Anthony's eyes widened and he sat up, straightening his posture. "That was Zack's idea. I didn't even think it was funny and I couldn't get him to stop, alright?"

"I can hear you laughing in the video."

There was a second of silence before he stood, lowering his gaze to stay on Eliana. "Was I just supposed to not laugh?"

Stupid. Eliana tilted her head and looked at him as of saying 'are you fucking with me right now?'

"I couldn't not laugh along. Zack would just do the same thing to me."

"Good. Maybe then you'd understand how he feels." She walked away from him and down the stairs, ignoring him when he called for her while following her out his room.

Only a few seconds later, before Eliana could sit back down on the couch, Amanda called the kids for dinner so the brunette pulled out her earbuds and sat at the table next to Johnny.

"You know, I don't think I'll ever get sick of seeing the two of you together." Carmen say down and joked.

"Oh yeah, last time these two were in a kitchen together... well, let's just say I'm glad the steak knives weren't out." Amanda sent a friendly smile to Johnny as she set her table napkin onto her lap.

Johnny chuckled, "I'll drink to that."

"What won't you drink to." Eliana quietly commented, earning a laugh from Anthony, who she barely noticed was seated next to her. Johnny just kicked her foot lightly.

Carmen, as warm as ever, kept the light conversation going with a nice question to Daniel. "So, how's business?"

"Uh, the dealership's been the best it's been in years." He leaned on to table, "It should practically be on autopilot by the time Same takes over. Right, Sam?"

Sam gave her dad a slightly annoyed look and dismissed the idea.

But Miguel was ecstatic for her. "You're gonna take over the dealership, that's awesome!"

And as exciting as that topic was, Eliana was more focused on her food, even when the topic of school was brought up.

The adults focused on the older pair, not bothering to ask the younger kids about anything. Eliana didn't mind, she didn't like being the center of attention too much, but Anthony wished they were curious enough to ask. It's not like he has anything to show, he just wished someone would show interest.

Suddenly, Daniel was on his feet and Eliana noticed his burgundy shirt had a splash of red wine on it.

"Oh, Mr. LaRusso, shit! Ah, I mean I'm sorry!" Miguel jumped up at the same time the man in front of him did, apologizing over and over.

Daniel dusted his shirt and calmly spoke. "No, don't worry about it. Please. Just a little wine. Right?"

Miguel sighed and sat down, completely embarrassed. Eliana was cursed with second hand embarrassment. She winced at the look of panic over Miguel's features and tried her best to act casual after the fact.

The rest of dinner went smoothly, no other beverage or food was spilt. Eliana and Anthony were quiet almost all the way through, only speaking when karate was brought up and Johnny mentioned Eliana's progress.

"You know karate?" Anthony raised an eyebrow at the girl.

"Yeah."

"Yeah, so don't mess with her. She could kick your scrawny ass any day of the week." Johnny pointed a finger at Anthony and raised his eyebrows, only lowering his hand when Eliana pushed it.

Soon enough, it was time to leave.

Johnny waved to Daniel, saying goodbye while Miguel and Eliana quietly waved. Anthony tried to say goodbye to Eliana but it went unnoticed.

Miyagi-Do dojo !!

Eliana stretched with the boys of the dojo while Miguel talked about last nights dinner.

"Dude, you spilled a glass of wine. So what?" Hawk shrugged.

"I don't know, man. You should've heard the way Mr. LaRusso was talking about Sam's future." He looked so bummed. "I can't even afford a car, let alone college. What if, they start to think I'm not good enough for her."

"Dude. You're El Serpientie," Eliana cringed at Hawk's pronunciation, "You're an All Valley Champion. Just, show Mr. LaRusso what you're made of. I know you're gonna crush whatever he throws at us today."

"Or accept the fact that he won't base your value off of your net worth." Eliana scratched her neck. "Because he's not that kind of rich asshole."

Penis Breath, completely ignoring Eliana, steps closer to Miguel. "Compared to Sensei Lawrence's training, today's gonna be a vacation."

'Thanks for the death wish, Penis Breath.' is all Eliana said in her head before Daniel appeared behind the group, tying a headband around his forehead.

"Who's going on vacation?"

"Uh, no one!" Miguel quickly responded, "What have you got for us today, sir?"

Daniel ushered the kids to follow him, making his way towards the back of the dojo. "Now, I know you've all been taught to strike first, with the exception of Eliana." He turned and pointed to the girl, causing her to cautiously look at the others and hope they weren't staring.

Eliana didn't start at just one dojo, so she wasn't exactly sure if she was supposed to go to Daniel's class or Johnny's. She thought she would just be excused for the day but Johnny insisted on her participating.

"What do you do... when your opponent... is faster than you?" He stopped in front of the pond.

"Are those real koi?"

"They sure are." Eliana moved closer to the pond to watch the orange and white striped fish swim in the pond.

She didn't like the idea of possibly sparring on the platform and falling into the pond, landing on a fish.

"Today's lesson is simple. Catch a fish." They all stared at the fish, listening to their sensei. "But since I know you Eagle Fangs like a little bit of competition, we're gonna make it interesting. So the first to succeed... will lead class for the whole week."

No one reacted.

"And you get to pick out what flavor Gatorade I buy next."

"Aw, hell yeah! Hope you all like Glacial Freeze." Penis Breath confidently exclaimed.

"Of course you would."

He frowned at the shorter girl.

"Okay, where are the rods?" Miguel spoke up.

"Back in my garage. Your bare hands are all you'll use, and all you'll need."

She wasn't too excited about having to grab a slippery fish out of water, but tried to stay optimistic to keep her mood up.

"On your mark."

"Get set."

"Go!"

Splashing was heard from the edges of the pond, the kids trying her hardest to grab the fish. Miguel kept his eye on a fish that was close by, reaching for it and falling into the water.

While the other boys laughed, Eliana winced and wiped the water off her face. She saw the expression on her brother's face. One of uneasiness and fear. His eyes were wide and his lips were downturned.

"Looks like you're a little wet behind the ears." Daniel joked while Miguel looked down. "Let's get you dried up."

Eliana grabbed the boy's hand and pulled him out of the water, grabbing a towel from her sensei and wrapping it around her brother.

"You're alright. No one expected to get it the first try." She chuckled, "Well, maybe except Penis Breath."

Her brother laughed along with her while she used his towel to wipe more water off her.

Diaz apartment !!

Another video of Kenny was on Eliana's feed.

Somehow, Zack filled his locker with... milk?? 'How did he even manage that?'

The microwave beeped, alerting Eliana that her mac and cheese was warmed up. She turned around briefly to grab the bowl and grabbed her phone, moving to the dining table.

Her phone vibrated in her hand and after she sat down to check it, she saw Anthony LaRusso's contact.

Wsp?

And before that oh, so intriguing exchange could continue, someone knocked on the front door.

Eliana moved to stand, but Carmen was quick to usher her back down, answering the door herself.

"Hey, Johnny. Uh, Miguel's not home."

"I'm not here for Miguel." Eliana made a disgusted face. "I know you wanna take things slow—"

"Maybe we should talk about this later." The women on her family's couch made eye contact with Ellie, and she shrugged them tilted her head towards the couple at the door.

"I'm tired of waiting." Johnny stepped into the building, unknowingly revealing himself to Rosa, Carmen's mother, and her friends. "I wanna talk about this now. With you."

Eliana cleared her throat, catching Johnny's attention, then pointed towards the other side of the room.

"And your mom. And your mom's friends. Hola." He waved lazily and they all waved back.

And as much as Eliana was loving this confession in progress, Anthony kept texting her.

Leaving me on delivered is cold

The boy's interest was a bit out of the blue, he never really texted her before. And if he did it was for homework answers.

Eliana liked this, though. Maybe if she was friends with Anthony, he wouldn't have to hang out with the pieces of shit he called friends. He could spend his time with her and Kenny.

If only Kenny wasn't joining the dark side.

Miyagi-Do dojo !!

Penis Breath grunted in frustration, "Damn it! How do they make it look so easy on Hillbilly Handfishin'?"

"What the fuck is that?" Eliana questioned him after reaching in the pond for the 13th time, still trying to catch a koi fish.

They all were still trying, not doing very well, though.

"Agh! Shit!" Hawk yelled, probably the angriest one of all the guys there. "This is impossible!"

"Patience. You'll figure it out."

Miguel glanced at his sensei, fitting the pieces of the puzzle together. "I have an idea."

He slowly stepped into the pond while everyone else stared, utterly confused.

He looked to his spiky-haired friend, "Come on, get in."

Even though they didn't understand why, they all climbed into the water. Eliana, glad she decided to wear workout shorts, jumped in almost immediately after Miguel.

"Follow my lead. Walk in a circle."

They did, and after about 5 seconds, the fish followed their motion in a smaller circle.

"It's working. They're going under the board."

Finally, Miguel reached into the water once more, and caught a koi. He held onto it tightly, holding it over his head like it was a newborn lion cub.

"And we have a winner!" Daniel smiled proudly. "Good job, Miguel. Good job."

Eliana jumped and happily congratulated him, an almost complete opposite from the others. They still were proud of him, don't worry.

After they all dried off their bottom halves, they watched as Daniel presented a headband to Miguel. Which came with another speech, a shorter one.

"Mr. Miyagi once told me, that this represents perseverance, courage, and strength. It also does a pretty good job of keeping the sweat out of your eyes."

They bowed at each other and Eliana noticed the Miyagi-Dos behind her. She turned to greet them and waved to Johnny. He waved back but his focus seemed to be on Miguel and Daniel, and Eliana noticed.
