All Valley tournament !!

"MIGGY, are you okay?" She tried not to shake her brother while he screamed in pain. Her face was filled with worry and she didn't know what to do. Thank god there was a paramedic.

He was put on a gurney and wheeled away, Eliana watched with her nose burning. She looked to Johnny, she sorta assumed he'd know why.

He did, and he nodded his head as an okay. So she followed Miguel, with Johnny right behind her.

Clinic !!

"Good news. Looks like it's just a pulled muscle. It may ache for a bit, but you'll be fine."

"Oh, thank god." Carmen relaxed her posture in relief after the paramedic finish her observation.

Miguel turned his head around, "So, does that mean that I can keep fighting?"

"They've given you 30 minutes to recover. So, let the pain guide you. If it's telling you to sit this one out, I'd listen. I'll get you an ice pack." She left the room after Miguel thanked her, and Eliana joined him on the bed.

Johnny and Carmen walked up to them, specifically Miguel. "How's it feel now?"

"Not bad. Just a little sore."

"Miggy, you don't have to continue."

"Yeah, as another fighter, I personally don't think you should continue."

"Don't worry, guys. If something feels off, I won't fight."

His mom turned to Johnny, whispering a note to make sure he's okay and she backed away.

Rosa pushed them to the side, making her way to her Grandson. "Eras tan bueno por ahí,"(You were so good out there.) She patted his shoulder. "Especialmente cuando le pateaste a ese niño en la cara."(Especially when you kicked that one kid in the face.)

"Gracias, Yaya."(Thank you.)

The older women left the room, Eliana deciding to follow suit. She could clearly see that Miguel was totally okay so she had nothing to worry about.

She almost bumped into Anthony, who looked to be on a mission.

"Sorry, I gotta hurry." She froze in place.

Where's he going in such a rush?

She saw Robby walking towards her and waved. They never spoke for too long, but they were... acquainted with each other.

Before she could get too far, she heard angered grunting and Robby's voice.

"What are you doing?"

The sound of Kenny's voice boomed from the locker rooms. "Just getting payback on the kid who thought he could bully me and get away with it."

She turned around, cheering could still be heard from the crowd.

"Anthony LaRusso was your bully?"

She quickly made her way to the locker room and saw Anthony on the floor.

"Not anymore. Do you hear that? Get ready for high school next year because you're gonna be in a world of pain."

She watched Kenny aggressively grab her best friend by his chin while he tried to break free. Shoving her body in between them, she pushed his arm off.

"Anthony, are you okay?—" She tried to reach for his hand, only to immediately get brushed off.

"I'm fine. Just... just leave me alone." He dusted himself off and stood up.

Robby's face filled with empathy and he spoke softly than usual. "Anthony—"

"I said leave me alone!"

Main room !!

"This semifinal match has been all Cobra Kai. Tory Nichols is on her way to the big dance."

She won another fight against a girl in white gi, but she didn't look familiar to Eliana.

Sam seemed to be doing better, winning her next match.

"Your brother okay?" Devon questioned her.

She looked to her, a bit surprised at the interaction. "Hm? Oh, yeah. He's alright. Might not fight, though." Devon nodded her head.

Daryl shouted once again into the microphone. "Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do are neck-and-neck on the leaderboard. But there's a dark horse... or should I say dark bird, that still has a chance. Will Eagle Fang stay alive in our dojo race? We're about to find out."

Juno groaned, shifting her weight between feet. "Does he seriously have to do this before every round starts?"

"Miguel Diaz has one minute to return to the mat!"

"Get on with it already, jeez." Eliana laughed slightly.

"Countdown clock?" Devon scoffed at the huge screen. "Kinda dramatic, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's the All Valley."

Juno shrugged, "People really do like the dramatic that much."

They watched the number get lower. Eventually getting down to 10, and the crowd counted along. Eliana hated when that happened. It always felt like it was the crowd pressuring the other person into doing whatever the majority wanted.

She felt a bit bad for it, but she really hoped he let down everyone.

And he did.

"Well, it looks like Miguel Diaz is not gonna fight." Disappointment poured from the crowd. "Which means that the winner by default is Eli Moskowits who advances to the final, where he will face Robby Keene. The finals are up next."

Eliana noticed Johnny leave to the back, and Carmen and Rosa as well.

She looked into the crowd, Anthony still looked mad.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is finally over. It's finals time!" The crowd cheered, like they do. "Since Cobra Kai scored the most points, they only need to win one match to be crowned Grand Champion. But, if Miyagi-So wins both matches, the title is theirs. Ooh, high drama!"

The man smiled like a giddy high schooler. "Up first, the boys' fight! Good luck to all of our fighters! Let's go!"

He ran off at the sound of loud claps and whooping. Eliana watched Eli and Robby both step onto the mat.

A suspenseful match. They were both super good fighters, one of the first ones to start learning. Eli started a bit earlier, but the fight between him and Robby was a real nail biter.

The buzzer went off, and they were stopped.

"Unbelievable! These two amazing competitors have reached their three-minute time limit in a one-one tie! Which means, their championship match will be decided, for the first time since 1985, by sudden death overtime!"

How cliche.

They took a short break, and Robby took off his gi for... some reason. Which caused Eli to do the same, of course.

They fought long and hard, both getting tired pretty quickly. They ended up on the floor and Eli slapped his foot onto Robby's chest, scoring the winning point. All of Miyagi-Do ran to congratulate him. And he was presented his trophy.

"And with that, Miyagi-Do vaults into the overall lead! It all comes down to the girls' final, coming up next."

Eliana stepped onto the mat to celebrate alongside her friend, standing out as the only one in red surrounded by white gi.

"Nice job, dude!"

"Thanks, Ellie."

"My money's on Sam."

"I don't know. Nichols' on a warpath."

"I have my full confidence in Sam."

Daniel called for Johnny and they chatted for a bit. Not that Eliana could hear any of it, nor did she care too much. They looked to come to an agreement and bowed to each other.

"What better way to cap off this exciting exhibition of karate than with a final match of the ages. Representing Cobra Kai, the Queen Cobra herself, Tory Nichols! Coached by her senseis John Kreese and Terry Silver."

Did he come up with that all by himself? It's... not that bad.

"And representing Miyagi-Do Karate, the Bonsai Badass," Not as creative but pretty good, I guess. "Samantha LaRusso! Coached by her father and sensei, two-time All Valley champion Daniel LaRusso, who I've just been informed will be joined by Sensei Johnny Laurence. So, wait—"

Daniel rushed to whisper something to Daryl.

"Oh, I stand corrected. Fellow two-time All Valley champion, Sensei Johnny Lawrence!" The Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs clapped for Johnny, Eliana's smile as wide as ever.

Sam stood in front of her coaches proudly. They gave her a quick pep talk that ended in a hug and she went off to fight.

Watching this match felt the same as watching the one before. They both fought so aggressively. Sam would've gotten a point, but it wasn't counted because Tory was out of bounds. Seemed like bullshit to Eliana, but she wasn't going to argue with the referee. It was his job.

Sam scored a point, getting them into a tie. And the match went on for so long, it felt like they went over the time. They were flipping over each other on the ground when Tory connected her elbow to Sam's eye, which got her a warning.

For a second Eliana thought Tory actually felt bad for the strike. This whole thing reminded Eliana of their past fights. She'd only heard about them but she knew they had to be intense.

Tory kicked Sam in the gut, winning the match. Sam fell to the ground and Tory got a bit closer to ask her something. She was pulled away by her team, her eyes wide and she looked to be trying to escape them. Until she was given her trophy.

"And the winner of the Grand Champion trophy and still the baddest dojo in the Valley, Cobra Kai!"

Eliana's face dropped as Silver grabbed the microphone from Daryl. "Thank you, thank you. We couldn't be prouder of our hard won victory."

"And we're just as proud to announce we'll soon be opening Cobra Kai franchises throughout the entire Valley, so every one of you young men and women here can be part of our championship dojo... and learn Cobra Kai's way of the fist!"

Chanting faded from Eliana's ears. She watched as everyone on the mat celebrated their win. Cobra Kai won... which meant that Eagle Fang would have to stop classes.

No more karate lessons.

Parking lot !!

Eliana quickly found Carmen and they hugged.

"Hi mama, you did great."

Rosa embraced her as soon as Carmen let go. "¡Y además lucía genial!"(And looked great, too!)

Eliana smiled weakly, thanking them. Their walk to the car was silent, until Eliana noticed an absent body.

"Where's Miggy?"

Carmen and Rosa shared a look, "He took an Uber."

Her face contorted in confusion. "Why?"

"Don't worry, mi amor. Let's just go home."

Diaz residence !!

Carmen and Rosa were arguing over Miguel not being home yet. All while Eliana was sitting on the couch. She was worried out of her mind, thought you couldn't tell too much.

She just kept texting her brother.

Where tf are you bro

Mom and Yaya are getting worried

And me.

Seriously dude wtf

Why didn't you bother to tell us
we could've come to help or smth

Miguel????

None of them were even read.

Johnny opened the door and the older women stopped. Eliana turned, her frown getting bigger when she didn't see Miguel.

"What going on?"

"Show him the note."

Rosa grabbed a piece of paper from the table and handed it to Johnny. He read it silently.

"I called the police. I-I don't know what else to do."

"Everything's gonna be fine."

With tears in her eyes, Eliana lifted herself off the couch. "How would you know? He's gone... and who knows when he's coming back."

"I'm gonna find him and make sure he safe."

"And bring him back?" Johnny nodded to her before Carmen gently shook him gently.

"Johnny. There's something I didn't tell you about my ex-husband."

"I know. You said he's a bad dude. Don't worry. I can handle myself. And I'm sure he'd never hurt his own son."

"That's just it. He doesn't know Miguel exists." The couple embraced. "I just want my baby back home safe."

"I'll make sure of it. Alright? I promise."

Eliana let her legs give out, falling back onto the couch. She wiped her tears away, already dreading the unavoidable puffy under eye.

Her phone dinged.

She wiped another tear, wiping both eyes in the process to make sure she saw the right contact.

It'll sure be a while till I update for this book, but ill might be writing for it during the break

Idk tho. Cause I'm gonna be writing another fic to finish an act for it. Maybe Missing Out, and then when I finish that, Astronomy and so fourth

Also, I'm thinking of js unpublishing my other books that I don't plan on writing for soon or haven't been updated in forever. Pls give me ur thoughts on this 🙏🏻
