I woke up with an arm thrown across me.

Soft snores to my right made me turn my head a bit to see Liam with his mouth open. He was drooling a bit, and it made me smile.

I could hear birds faintly chirping out the window, and my eyes trailed down to his chest. The muscles I saw were hidden behind a white shirt, but I could see the definition.

Half of me wanted to touch them, and the other half wanted me to keep staring at him

His snores abruptly stopped, and I jumped at the sudden silence. He scrunched his eyes as he slowly woke up.

Liam smiled a bit as he saw me.

"Good mor-"

He stopped and squinted at me. Then he sat fully up and looked at me. His sudden movements shocked me, and I slowly sat up to face him. He grabbed my face in his hands. His cold touch met my hot face, and I would've relaxed in his hold if it wasn't for the intensity of his eyes.

"Your face- it's all puffy." He observed. "And you feel a little hot. Are you alright?"

I managed a slight nod in his grip. I remember my tongue feeling itchy, but now it felt numb.

"Sorta."

Liam sighed and picked me up. He placed me in his lap and checked me over. "Your neck isn't swollen, and seeing how you're breathing fine, I'd say that it's a mild reaction. Open your mouth, please."

I complied and saw his eyes go wide at sight.

"Kye?"

"Yes?"

"Please tell me when the food tastes weird next time."

"So, it was the apples." Xavier leaned on the kitchen counter with an annoyed expression. After Liam examined me in bed, he picked me and ran to Xavier's room. Xavier wasn't too thrilled to be woken up early, but his demeanor changed when he saw my face.

After waking up Nicole, Xavier handed me two orange color pills, crackers, and some water. It hurt to eat the biscuits, but the water made it more comfortable. The pills slipped down my throat with ease, and I drank the rest of the water after all the crackers were gone. Xavier, Liam, and a distraught Nicole then sat and watched me until the pills started working, and the swelling went down.

I made a mental note that having three people watch you for what seemed forever, was nerve-wracking.

After they agreed that the swelling went down enough, Liam rechecked me to make sure I was okay.

I didn't mind it, because they seemed concerned.

When I was finally given a clean bill of health, Nicole thought it would calm all of us down if we had some breakfast.

So, we all headed to the kitchen.

Donna and Kyle were already in there making pancakes and drinking something out of mugs. One look at us had them worried. Xavier and Nicole brought them up to speed on my condition, while Liam led me to the table.

"Why didn't you tell us that the apples tasted weird?" Xavier asked after relaying what happened in the past hour.

"I thought that's how they taste," I replied. I fiddled with my thumbs under the table. "I'm sorry, I made you mad Xavier."

Xavier opened and closed his mouth before profoundly sighing. "I'm not mad." He sighed again and walked over to the table. "When food makes your tongue itch or your mouth get bumps, or you stop breathing, that means you need to stop eating and tell anyone of us." He pointed to everyone in the kitchen. "That means that you have an allergic reaction."

I nodded. "So, does that mean I'm allergic to peanuts and apples?"

"Yes. When we go out to go eat at places, try to avoid those foods altogether." Xavier said.

"Also, it's good to not come in contact with those foods. You could accidentally touch your face and have a reaction." Liam added from my left. "We all care about you, and we don't want to see you hurt or in pain. If you are, please don't hesitate to ask us. Regardless of what it is, we will always help you, Kye."

"Okay." I smiled at him. I looked at Xavier. "I'm sorry to worry you all, but thank you for having the best interests for me."

Donna set down her cup and sauntered over to me. "Who wouldn't do the same for such a cutie like you?" She lightly pinched my cheeks.

"Nicole, don't you think it's time to tell them?" Donna smiled.

"Tell us what?" Xavier asked while folding his arms. "No offense, but you and Nicole are dangerous when you both start thinking."

"I take offense, but I'll let it slide since it's a surprise for Kye." Nicole set a plate of pancakes on the table in front of me. "A huge surprise."

I felt myself smiling. "What is it?"

Donna and Nicole stood next to each other, arms linked around each other.

"We are going to the Beach House!"
