Morrowseer | CH 2

-your POV-

you and the other dragonets were in the sleeping cave when you heard the sound of wingbeats. You listened more and could take a picture of what kind of dragon was coming inside your head. a large, solid, and wise night wing. "guys," you said, and the others turned their heads towards you and gave you expectant glances. "I feel someone, there is someone other than our guards" tsunami was the first to speak "it must be Morrowseer, the dragon who wrote our prophecy. where is he?" you stretched your ear and closed your eyes.

You could feel him with your guards. "he is with our guards. come," you said and opened your eyes, and together with Clay, Starflight and the spirits of their group set off towards the cave where your guards talked to Morrowseer. When you arrived, you all stopped in shock. In front of the three-guard dragons stood one of the giant dragons you will ever see. he was tall, muscles moving under his skin, and his wings were full of small twinkling stars.

You were one of the tallest of your friends but not as tall as him. Suddenly he looked up at you, and his eyes scanned you all. When he met your eyes, he stopped. his head tilted, and his black cleaved tongue flicked out of his mouth. "who are you?" he said, his voice dark and full of authority. you swallowed with your head held high. "I'm Snow, the squirrel dragon." Morrowseer nodded slowly. Suddenly, in a leap towards Sunny, he threw himself. You were all surprised, and you were the first to react. You threw yourself at him; your sharp black claws drilled into his scales.

You held on as he began to shake violently to get you off. You growled, deep and angry. Morrowseer chuckled and stopped shaking. you jumped off him and landed in front of Sunny with your tail swinging angrily from side to side and your wings out. "do not attack Sunny," you snarled and did not think that this dragon could kill you in a blow from his claws or a bite from his mouth. "hold your tongue, child!" Kestrel snarled from his place next to the other guards. You ignored her and kept staring at Morrowseer, who looked like he was thinking.

after a while, he said and pointed at you with a claw, "she is good enough." after you, Sunny and Clay. "they too" in the end, Glory. "we to see about the rainwing" he turned to Starlight. "Come on, I want to talk to you ... privately" the big night wing turned and walked out of the cavern with Starlight notch in full. "what are you thinking about ?!" Kestrel roared at you and growled in your face. You said nothing but a "he should attack my friend, I'm no dragon standing watching something like this happen. live with it, your fire wing," you said and turned your back on Kestrel and went to Clay, Sunny, and Glory. Tsunami smiled at you as Sunny stroked your side.

"you did not have to do it for me. Now Kestrel will be extra mean to you in training," she said. You chuckled. "she can not hurt me. I also care more about your safety than about my own," you said and nudged her.

Morrowseer returned with Starlight after a while. you noticed that the young night wing did not seem very happy and was quieter than usual. "Do you want to talk about it?" you asked as you walked towards the sleeping cave. "I ... am not meant to talk about it," he replied. You said nothing, and you went into silence. You stopped at the opening to the sleeping cave and stood watching while the Starlight cleared up on its sleeping shelf and pulled out its favorite roll. You sighed and turned to find the others. You saw them talking to Glory.

"what's up?" you said when you approached them. "Morrowseer is talking about taking the life of Glory," Tsunami told you, and you felt anger burning inside you. "why? she is as much a dragonet of prophecy as us" the others were silent, and you could see in their eyes that they did not know the answer either. "The guards think the rain wings are too lazy and do not care about the war." Then, finally, Glory said and jumped down from the rock she was sitting on. "You're not lazy, Glory," you said, and you meant it. She was one of the most hard-working dragons in their group, even if your guards would not see it.

You sighed. "we should go to bed; we've had a lot today." the others agreed, and you went to the sleeping cave. You lay down with thoughts of other things than sleeping. You could not let Morrowseer take the life of Glory. she was one of you, and she always would be, prophecy or not. You took a deep breath and let yourself sink into the realm of sleep, and dreams came flying. Today they were ok, neither scary nor happy.
