●There are two types of people in the world. Those who adapt and those who don't.
If a person is willing to change, they are set on a path of growth. But how can one grow without seeing what lies beyond the Sun's burning warmth?
Everyone will feel the coldness of the rain hitting their skin at some point in their lives.
The rain washes away every essence of life yet life cannot exist without it.
It is a symbol of change and rebirth.
It is up to each individual on what they will do when the rain pours down onto their souls.
Will they run to take cover? Or will they be washed away and embrace the person they will become?

"We're drawing too much attention."
"Don't worry, we'll move on soon."
The woman scoffed and shook her head. She was beyond frustrated with her so-called coven who paid her no mind.
"Relax, Nova."
Nova rolled her eyes and walked away from the man she was talking to.
They were currently passing through Forks. A small town that they would be able to reside in for a while before leaving. The place made Nova feel off and as if there was a reason she was there. That only made her want to escape even more. She hated the feeling of being trapped, sure. But she hated the feeling of the unknown even more.
Her coven was more hesitant to leave the fresh new hunting spot and she tried everyday to convince them of moving on. Especially the man she was just talking to.
James was what you could call the "leader," of the pack. He had extremely pale skin which wasn't unusual and his dirty blonde hair was pulled into a low bun. He wore an black leather jacket with jeans that were ripping from the overuse. He was cunning and knew how to use his intelligence to get whatever he wanted.
Him and Nova bumped heads a lot but they had a foundation of trust. They often treated each other like siblings but they weren't nearly as close as they appeared to be. Nova disagreed with his ways of hunting and his sadistic nature, which was the leading cause of their arguments.
She was always wary of his mate though.
She and Victoria had an odd bond that they couldn't explain even if they tried. They tolerated each other and could go from being best friends to trying to kill each in seconds. When they were on good terms they were inseparable.
Victoria was more wild than anything else. Her fiery red curls and bright eyes would catch anyone's attention. She was beautiful of course and she carried the essence of seductiveness.
Most people thought James was the most dangerous out of the two but they were certainly wrong. Victoria was extremely smart and manipulative. She had a talent for being able to get inside someone's head and feed off their weaknesses. Maybe that's why she was mated to James who matched her level of mind games.
Either way, the two made a deadly pair.
Nova couldn't help but envy the love they shared and often wondered if Laurent ever felt the same way.
Laurent was like a father figure to her. He had found her days after her transformation and taught her how to survive. He had also been patient when teaching her how to control her ability. She trusted him and his judgment more than anything or anyone.
She enjoyed the times when he would let her style his dreads in different ways. It was a way for them to bond and she cherished it.
Laurent helped her discover that her gift was always evolving whenever she was in danger or high stress. It was as if life would give her a little boost to keep her safe.
A part of her mind knew the only reason the others wanted her to stay with the group was because of her gift. The conscious part of her mind decided to ignore that fact and enjoy the feeling of not being alone.
Nova herself was an enigma. She had no idea who turned her or why they decided to. Her memories of her human life were so fuzzy nowadays she could rarely make any type of sense out of them. Although, that wasn't uncommon for vampires who have walked the Earth for more than forty years.
Her gift only added to that confusion.
Newborns are known for being stronger and faster than an older vampire because of the fact their blood still lingers in their veins. Over time, this should fade because the venom will consume that same blood.
This wasn't the case for Nova.
She kept parts of her human self. Her heart actually continued to pump blood but at such a slow rate that it was easy to not register it. Her eyes weren't a deep red from feeding, no, they were a shade of icy gray with long lashes accompanying them. Her tan, sun kissed skin wasn't ghastly pale but there weren't any imperfections either. She had blonde hair that reached past her waist. Her outfit was brighter than her companions. She had on a bright laced top that exposed a lot of her skin with ripped black pants. Overall she was eye-catching and she knew it.
Even though she had more of a moral compass than the others, Nova was definitely not a saint. It wasn't exactly her fault as she learned everything she knew about vampires from Laurent. The man recognized the unnatural abilities in her and took her in. He was always attracted to people with power and so, Nova fit what he desired perfectly. The fact she had little to no previous memories, only made his goal easier. He figured that her gift made her mind cling to the humanity it had left and that left her more vulnerable to her own emotions. All of this worked in his favor of keeping her on a leash.
It might not seem like it but he did grow to be fond of her to some extent.
All four vampires had different motives that brought them together but they could agree on one thing.
There was strength in numbers.
Laurent noticed how on edge Nova was and his priority was to keep her happy.
"Nova is right, we should leave today. There's nothing special about this place that's keeping us here. We can find a new challenge for you someplace else, James."
Victoria sat on James' lap with a bored expression. As much as she loved the new area to feed, she agreed that moving on was wise. But she wouldn't go against her mate if he wanted to stay.
James sighed and gripped onto Victoria's hips before tapping her thigh as a que to get up.
"Fine but next time, I won't leave just because little miss princess wants to."
Nova smirked at the name but nodded her head in thanks.
As they began to use their heightened speed to leave, they heard a loud crackling noise.
James was the first to stop and curiously tilt his head to listen for it again. A baseball flew towards them at high speeds, impossible for a human, and he reached out to catch it.
When Victoria noticed her mate's growing curiosity, she placed a hand on his muscled bicep.
"Just leave it," she glanced up when she heard it again, "We don't know how many there are. It isn't worth the risk."
James shrugged her off and started to jog towards the sound of what seemed like thunder to the human ear.
His mind was made up and so Victoria followed him instantly.
Laurent waited for a moment and locked eyes with Nova with an expression she read immediately.
'If anything goes wrong, run and don't look back.'
Nova nodded and ran after the pair of mates with Laurent right behind her.

The Cullens were playing a friendly yet competitive game of baseball. It was one of the few things they were able to genuinely enjoy throughout their life of immortality.
The energy surrounding them was playful and loving banter.
But it all seemed to cease when Alice lost her smile and froze in place.
Her vision showed what she believed to be four vampires who moved at high speeds in their direction.
Her attention was on a woman who had such strange eyes that she had never seen before in a vampire.
Alice had never thought she would find someone who caught her attention in this way again. She couldn't help but be slightly eager to see this blonde haired beauty who moved with no hesitation whatsoever.
In her vision there were multiple flashes of them being together.
Hunting, telling jokes and... other things that made Edward wish he couldn't read minds.
But what confused them both was that it wasn't just Alice they saw her with.
She somehow fit with all of them.
Edward wasn't ready to unpack what that meant.
His initial reaction was slightly different than Alice's. Most likely because his main concern was keeping Bella safe but he wouldn't lie and say he wasn't curious about her as well.
Jasper jogged over to his mate and appeared in front of her instantly.
Alice looked like she was seeing through them.
"What is it Alice?" Carlisle was next to her and spoke to her with a sense of calm but his anxiety was almost obvious.
"They were moving much quicker than I thought."
Her eyes briefly flickered to her mate. "They heard us playing and it changed their path."
The seven vampires looked at the single human among them then looked away.
Carlisle turned his attention to Edward, "How soon?"
"Less than five minutes, they're running, they want to play." Edward was frustrated with himself for allowing this to happen.
"Can you make it?"
Edward shook his head and looked in concealed worry. "Not while carrying. If they catch Bella's scent.." He trailed off but everyone caught the gist of what he was saying.
Emmett was ready to protect his family if needed and he wondered out loud how many there were.
"Four." Alice answered him and she went to mention the woman that caught her eye but a quick glare from Edward made her stay silent. She mentally asked him why they would stay silent about the rest of her vision.
He didn't answer.
Emmett frowned but then scoffed, "Just four? Let them come."
Carlisle remained silent and weighed out his options.
"Let's just continue the game. Alice said they were only curious."
The rest of the group moved in sync at his words but Edward decided to take Esme's place so that he was closer to Bella.
The only thing that brought him some type of relief was the fact none of them were thirsty.
Jasper was tuned into Alice and Edward's emotions. The sliver of excitement and eagerness caught his attention. That's how he knew they were hiding something.
"What aren't you telling us?"
Alice bit her lip and turned to him.
"Alice," Edward's tone sounded like a warning and it only confirmed that there was something else Alice had seen.
Rosalie was slowly getting pissed off. "There's a group, speeding their way here and you think it's okay to keep something from us? Does it only matter to you if your little human stays safe?"
Emmett soothingly rubbed circles into her back, hoping to calm her down.
Edward shook his head and pulled Bella into his side. He was almost offended at the accusation.
"There's a woman," he paused to try to figure out how to word it but Rosalie was over his bullshit.
"Spit it out. We don't have all day."
"She's our mate."
Bella had been relatively silent through this period per Edward's request but hearing him say that sent off warning bells in her head. Edward had a mate that was on her way here. What did that mean for their budding relationship? Was it over now that he found someone who was already a vampire?
Her heart ached at the thought of when they met and she would have to watch him actively be with someone else.
Esme stepped up and she and Carlisle looked at each other then back at Edward.
"What do you mean, "our?"
"I don't know, I saw her with us all."
Rosalie was a mixture of apprehension and confusion. "How would that even be possible?"
Alice shrugged, "I don't know, okay? All I know is that she was mated to all of us, even Bella."
Bella was now more lost than she was afraid. She had never thought being with more than one person was a thing for vampires. Hell, she had never even considered the possibility that she, herself, could ever be attracted to two people at once, especially if one was a woman.
"Look, we don't have time to discuss this right now. Let's just focus on what's important and we'll figure the details out later."
It was hard for all of them not to think about the bombshell Edward and Alice had just dropped on them.
Their thoughts were silently overwhelming Edward who's own voice was loud in his head.
The one thing they all thought in common was, 'Was this actually possible?'
Three minutes passed and even though they continued to play they were all on high alert.
It took maybe two more minutes before their visitors began to emerge from the shadows of the forest.●

{I'm super excited to write this book and I hope yall enjoy it just as much as I have. I'll be using both the books and movies for details and dialogue. So if something sounds different than what you remember, that's why.}
