ᴇᴍᴘʀᴇꜱꜱ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇ ᴋᴀʟᴜ

As soon as my driver dropped me off in front of Dayo's huge mansion, I felt a sense of dread turn my stomach to mush. I've never been this nervous in my entire years of living, hell I wasn't even this nervous when I started competing in basketball!

But here I was, wearing a skirt (which was totally not me by the way), standing in front of Dayo's gigantic home while twisting my fingers like some lost girl. I wanted to so smack myself in the face to loosen up but I couldn't. I felt like tight NEPA wires, I was practically sweating inside my chest.

I got in and stood in front of the door. Taking a deep breath, I reached out my hand to knock but the door flew open and a surprised Dayo nearly managed not to fly into me.

Jesus.

His eyes widened as he gave me  slow once over. His stare made me nervous as hell but I managed to stand there without shaking.

"Empress? What...how....why are you here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. He wasn't smiling but he wasn't frowning either. Good, that was something. At least he wasn't giving me any evil I-will-murder-you-and-your-generation look.

"Uhm...let me in first?"

He raised the eyebrow so high I was surprised when it didn't reach his hairline.

"Please" I half whispered. He gave me a long look before opening the door wide enough. As I walked in, I couldn't help but gawk at the interior of the house. I mean, the outside was amazing but the inside...Jesus the inside was freaking humongous!

Bro probably could be dragging riches with Elon Musk for real.

I sat down on the on the very expensive looking couches with my back taunt and straight.

"Would you like some juice?"  He asked holding out a bottle of Chivita juice.

"Uh no thank you" I replied and smiled politely. He shrugged and poured himself juice before coming to sit opposite me.

"What do you want Kalu. You are the last person I expected to come see me and in my own house. Here to accuse me of another crime?" He asked bluntly. I bit my lower lip and shifted uncomfortably on the chair. His staring wasn't helping either, I was nervous already so he should cut it out.

"That's why I'm here"

"To accuse me of something?" He asked frowning slightly.

"No! I'm here to... apologize"

Silence...

He gave me a blank look before bursting into laughter. It wasn't the mocking type but the type of laughter that indicated he found what I said funny. I felt like a clown to be honest.

Did I crack a joke though?

"Man whoever hired you to tell me this joke is really good. Nice one Kalu." He managed to say in the midst of his laughter.

"I'm not joking Dayo" I said quietly. The laughter slowly died down as his expression got replaced with a confused look. He brushed dark curls that lingered over his eyes and stared at me hardly.

God he should quit it with the stares, I'm nervous already!

"What? You mean-so- I don't understand Empress"

I sighed and adjusted my self.

"I came to apologize because i had and have no right to say those words to you. Annoying as you are, you don't deserve being treated the way I treat you. I'm really sorry and I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me one day"

He just blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Multiple times.

"Do you plan to bomb me Kalu?" He asked with a horrified expression on his face. I gasped and stared at him with shock.

What the hell did he just ask?

"Why would I do that? Why do you look so horrified?"

"Because you just went out of you way to come to my house to apologize. And you apologized genuinely. Why wouldn't I be scared?" He retorted. The look on his face made him so cute that I couldn't help but smile. He was scared because i was apologizing to him.

I would be scared too if I were in his shoes.

"Well I'm not bombing you....yet...." He winced and I chuckled. "But I'm really genuine. I really am sorry Dayo, you didn't do anything that day. I was just looking for someone to vent all my anger on and you were a likely target" 

For the first time in my life, I saw Dayo's cheeks redden. He wasn't really a fair guy but he wasn't dark either, more of a light skinned guy. And boy oh boy, he couldn't even make eye contact anymore.

"Uhm...it's cool though. Don't talk to me like that again and everything will be fine"

"Alright thanks a lot" I replied. He hummed in response and stared at everything but me. I busied myself with thinking up thing to say to him to start a conversation. Anything to make the boring house lively.

"Brotwer Dayooo!"

I looked up to see the most adorable kid I've ever seen in my life run down the stairs and throw himself into Dayo's arms. He had the same full, curly hair with Dayo and same skin tone. In fact, it was like looking at a mini version of Dayo, only cuter. Way cuter. 

And Dayo? Bro smiled so warmly that I felt it down in my lower belly. His eyes grew a thousand shade brighter when he clutched the little kid in his arms. Now I'm not a softie,but the sight before was more than enough to melt my Stony heart.

"Timi! How are you? Sleep well buddy?" He asked. Timi grinned and shook his head excitedly. The action was so cute I felt like gushing my eyes out. Wherever this kid was made, I wanna go there because he was too cute to be true.

"I slept well bwother Dayo" he replied softly.

Then as if realizing there was another presence in the room. The kid turned to stare at me. For someone as small as he, he really knew how to stare without blinking, probably he was going to be giving super death glares in the future or intense stares like Dayo did.

"Hi" he greeted me. I smiled and waved

"How are you?"

"What's your name?" He asked, ignoring my previous question.

"Empress. And I know yours is Timi?"

"It's Rotimi Chance Ayodele. But you can call me Timi, you're really pretty" he said confidently. I was beginning to like him more and more.

"Are you my brother's girlfwend?" He asked curiously, tilting his head to the side as if to examine me better. Dayo coughed awkwardly and even though the question was off, I still fekt myself amused and almost chuckled.

"Uh no. I'm his classmate" I replied. He nodded his head and took off, running super speed into another area of the house.

"Timi take it easy with those chocolates okay? Or it's the dentist straight!" He yelled.

"Never!" Timi shouted loudly from wherever he was. The expression on Dayo's face was priceless and before I knew it, I started laughing.

He turned to me and gave me a dirty look but I couldn't hold it. I didn't know Timi well but I could beg he was one kind of a kid.

"Very funny." Dayo muttered. I stood up, still chuckling under my breath.

"I like that boy" I said to him and smiled. Dayo blinked at me, looking at me like there was some kind of monster on my face.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing" he answered and looked away. I walked to the door and opened it, but before I stepped outside, I turned to look at him and without thinking, stretched out my hand. He looked at it like there was some hidden bomb in it, I couldn't help but giggle again.

"There's nothing in it bro." I said softly. He gave !e one last suspicious look before taking my hand and I could swear I felt something like electric currents sizzle in my hand.

Maybe bro was playing with electricity?

Maybe.

I let go of his hand and gave him a salute before stepping out the door.

"See you later comrade" I said and spun away before he could reply.

And for some strange reason, I felt peace in my heart.
