lani is forced to leave her hometown in PA after her father breaks the news that he earned a job promotion and must now transfer to hawaii. the family is very close, and so it's obvious what must be done. everyone picks up their things and flies over to a brand new place full of strangers and unfamiliarities.

luckily, it's summertime, so lani doesn't have to worry about joining a new high school in the middle of the year. however, that time will eventually come, so she is hoping to make some friends before that happens.

little does she know, she'll soon run into a boy who'll take her under his wing, show her the lay of the land, and introduce her to some new experiences. he'll not only act as her tour guide, but as her best friend (and eventually something even more). from dancing on the beach at sunset to hunting each other down with water-guns, these two will do every dâmn cutesie cliché thing imaginable to create the fluffball ship™.

PERSONALITY;
lani is about as soft and smol as they
come. kinda like your typical 'girl —
next — door' type, she is smart, sweet,
and responsible. she is also selfless &
always willing to help those in need.
because of these traits, parents back
home often relied on her for baby/pet—
sitting gigs, which lani was more than
happy to help out with, of course. bc
of her maternal nature, her friends
often referred to her as the "mom" of
the group, which she finally accepted
after stubbornly denying it for so long.
many have taunted her for being 'too
perfect', but she knows that the truth
is far from that.

beneath the surface, lani has her fair
share of insecurities. consequently, it's
not very difficult for people to get
under her skin. she's embarrassed that
her feelings get hurt so easily, so she
tries her best to hide it when she gets
upset. like most, she hates feeling
vulnerable. which is ironic, consider—
ing that she loves to help others in
their own vulnerable states.

but although she may be the type to
care too much and hurt too easily,
that isn't to say that she's weak-willed
and cowardly. she is passionate about
many things, and she likes trying new
experiences and pushing herself out of
her comfort zone. now, she's certainly
no daredevil, but she appreciates the
rush of adrenaline once in a while.

all in all, lani is an optimistic girl who
tends to see the good in people. she is
a peace–maker at heart, and she's not
usually one to hold grudges. she may
be 'the nice girl', but she's equipped
with plenty of sarcasm and sass, and
she's not completely opposed to swit—
ching out her cards when you get up to
use the bathroom. this girl is a huffle—
puff at heart that comes with many
surprises and a cute laugh. the perfect
candidate for the fluffball ship™.
