A shudder ran down his spine as the cool breeze blowed around him. Removing the helmet, Taehyung parked his bike before walking to the entrance of the massive college campus.
But sometimes, somethings or someone are hard to miss. A boxy grin carved onto his lips as he spotted her, masking all other thoughts and emotions running across his mind.
Lee Jennie was definitely hard to miss in the crowd. She looked gorgeous. Her beautiful golden tan skin, cat eyes, full pink lips and her gummy smile. Everything looked the same but something was different.
"Why are you here?" Taehyung cursed himself internally for fucking it up and her scowl confirmed that it was, indeed, a stupid question. But she soon answered him.
An intern. Of course. He'd heard about it from his mother. Her visit to his house while he was out of town, her medicine degree and her shifting to Seoul.
A proud smile tugged on his lips as he made his way to Dr. Kim Namjoon's room by Jennie's direction. Taehyung was so proud of her for achieving her dreams. He was sure that she would make it. A sigh left his lips as he imagined the worst case scenario.
What would've happened if he didn't turn her down that day?
Would she'd be a doctor like now? Or anything else? Would she'd be happy?
He didn't know.

"Yeah, she's okay" Taehyung muttered to the Seokjin through the phone call. "I'll be away for few days so I'm leaving the control to you..."
"You're worrying too much" Kim Aera, his dear mother mumbled, seeing him riled up. "..Yeah, ok, bye" As Taehyung ended the call, he was blessed with the sight of Dr. Lee Jennie, standing at the doorway of the hospital room.
A shiver ran through him as Jennie made her way to the room, taking a seat beside his mom. Apparently, he had forgotten one simple thing.
Running into Lee Jennie was inevitable.
A small grin curled on his lips as Jennie threw a remark, implying his irresponsibility. He'd gone to Busan for few weeks and it was when his mom got sick with jaundice.
As Taehyung watched Jennie's retreating figure, a sweet smile curved upon his lips. He was very thankful for her to offer care for his sick mother, even though she might be uncomfortable with him. After all, he was a mummy's boy. And he was happy. He was happy knowing that he could atleast see her everyday, even though she might despise it.
So close yet so far.

The next few days were some of the happiest days in Taehyung's life. Each day started with a blessing. A blessing in the form of Lee Jennie. The 'good morning's they exchanged and her cheerful smile were more than enough. Sometimes, he even felt like he didn't deserve those.
Jennie was there with his mom whenever he'd to travel back to Daegu for some important meetings. She helped his mom with medication and food. And he didn't even miss some tiny smiles she'd flashed at him, whenever she thought that he wasn't looking.
"Take her with you" His mom's that one sentence had startled Taehyung, telling him to have lunch with Jennie at the hospital cafeteria. It could've been a date if only she didn't interrupt their peaceful atmosphere.
Tzuyu. His annoying friend /sister. Married to his best friend, Jeon Jungkook.
"This idiot didn't tell me that you were here" Tzuyu pushed him playfully, a wide smile spreading on his lips. She hadn't changed at all. Still annoying! But before he could introduce her to Jennie, Tzuyu took hold of his hand, dragging him out of the room, to the cafeteria.
"Why did you do that?" Taehyung exclaimed, his voice coming out with frustration and annoyed. "Do what?" Tzuyu laughed, seeing him exasperated. Grabbing his hair, Taehyung let out a groan, watching Jennie's retreating figure.
He'd fucked up.
Again.
"Who's she?" Tzuyu's question pulled him from his train of thoughts. "That's Dr. Lee Jennie" A faint smile carved on his lips, followed by a deep sigh. "My love.."
"What!?" An audible gasp left Tzuyu's lips, followed by numerous statements and questions. "I knew it! How do you know her? How did you guys meet? Does she love you? Did you confess? How come I don't know this? Does Jungkook know? If yes, then I would kill you both. Tell me!"
This was going to be a long conversation.

"You're an idiot Kim Taehyung!" That was Tzuyu's reaction when he had told her everything that had happened in the past 6 years. "I know" He let out a sigh, leaning back on the chair.
"I don't know what to do anymore" Taehyung confessed. He was the sole problem here. Maybe, he didn't deserve her. Maybe, no, she would be better off without him.
"Love..." The sudden deep voice startled Taehyung. It was from Tzuyu's phone. Jungkook. She'd put him on speaker phone. "Love is not finding someone to live with. It's finding someone you can't live without"
A sad smile curled on Taehyung's lips as he he listened to Jungkook's words. It was the same thing Taehyung had told him once. But Tzuyu's words were something new to him.
"Sometimes, all a girl wants is for you to fight for her. Make her believe that you may want this relationship more than she does"

"I will help" Taehyung told the 2 cousins who stood in front of him, at his office. Apparently, Lee Taeyong, his ex-friend, had asked for his help which he would've refused at instant if Jennie wasn't there with him.
Unfortunately for him, his ex-friend is the cousin brother of his girl.
Gesturing Taeyong to stack the papers, Taehyung turned to Jennie, telling her about the mass community wedding event. As Jennie accepted the idea of working together, Taehyung couldn't help but smirk slightly.
He'd something to look forward in the coming days.
And as expected, Taehyung was not disappointed. They spent days together, working on the project, his company is sponsoring. He was always seated beside her. Leaving his perfectly new laptop back at home, Taehyung had even chosen to work on Jennie's laptop!
So when Jennie had asked him to accompany her to somewhere, Taehyung had agreed without a second thought. He would go anywhere with her, with or without her asking him to.
Jennie had taken him to meet Min Yoongi. Renowned writer, novelist and editor of Agust D publications. But what followed after that was something special to him. Yoongi had managed to publish a book of his mother's writings with Jennie's help!
In Memory of the Little Red Flower
His eyes pooled with unshed tears as he read the title of the book. His mother's works, her blood, sweat and tears. He was more than thankful towards both of them. But what Yoongi said had affected Taehyung.
"You are lucky to have her in your life"
The ride back home was different. As in weird, weird different. His eyes were sneaking peeks on her. His lips were permanently curled into a wide grin. His heart was pounding fast. His breaths were irregular. His fingertips tapped on the steering wheel, making small rhythms. His eyes twinkled with many emotions.
He'd even freaking giggled!
But when he saw his mom's happy face, he couldn't help but let out few tears. Tears of happiness, gratitude, regret and realization.
Happiness, seeing his mother being happy. Gratitude, for this amazing surprise Jennie had gifted him with. Regret, for making Jennie sad. Realization, that he didn't deserve her at all.
He was nothing, nothing for her.

Taehyung loved his mother. She'd sacrificed so much for him. He admired her strong determination and unconditional love and support. She was never against any of his dreams or wishes. And he was more than thankful for having Kim Aera as his mother.
But when his mother's friend and Jennie's aunt, Lee In-na, told him what his mother had done, he couldn't believe it.
His mother had fixed his marriage to someone that is not Lee Jennie without even asking for his consent. She'd practically sold her one and only son to Kang Seulgi!
Aunt Lee told him everything. Everything as in Jennie. About how he was breaking her over and over with or without knowing. But what aunt Lee had told were taking a toll on him.
"Love is not what you say. Love is what you do"
Once again, Kim Taehyung had successfully managed to accomplish the mission of hurting her. But this time, it was much worse.
Taehyung had regretted being friends with Lee Taeyong after that asshole turned his back on him. Even remembering a word about that incident made Taehyung fuming mad and angry. And now, the fucker had the audacity to come and ask for his help.
Apparently, Lee Taeyong had fallen in love with Yoo Jeongyeon, Taehyung's business rival. Both of them had planned to elope as her family had fixed her marriage to someone else against her wish.
Even though, he could relate to their situation very well, he couldn't bring himself to help them. He was not Kim Taehyung after he realised the bitter truth.
"I thought you'd help 2 people in love" That single sentence from Jennie had made him do it, even though the coldness and distance in her words had stabbed him in the heart.
But what followed after was something he'd dreamt every moment from when he learned about his supposed engagement. He'd begged for a miracle to happen, so that he could cancel the wedding.
What he didn't even dreamt was that Lee Taeyong was his miracle. Taeyong was eloping with Seulgi who'd disguised as Jeongyeon.
As he watched their cab driving away, he couldn't help but tuck his hands inside his jeans pocket, afraid that he would jump on Jennie, who was standing close to him.
Bless you, Lee Taeyong!
The very next day, he'd asked for aunt Lee's help with Jennie. And that was how he'd successfully reached the finishing line.
"I love you Lee Jennie"
