JENNIE stared at Taeyong, her eyes still widened after hearing him talk. Never in her whole life, she'd thought about something like this in Taeyong's life. A deep sigh left her lips as she saw the puppy eyes made by Taeyong.
Fishing for her phone from her pocket, Jennie dialled to the only person who could offer some advice now. After hearing all Jennie had to say, Jimin spoke. "Forget everything I'd told you. There's no rules when it comes to war and love"
"So..?" Taeyong asked her, when she ended the call. "Shall we ask Taehyung for help?" She asked. "Are you actually an idiot or acting like one?" He huffed, obviously disagreeing with Jennie's stupid idea. "You don't have to do anything. I'll talk to him, just stand with me. This is the only way" Jennie explained, assuring him.

"Yoo Jeongyeon?" Jennie and Taeyong flinched under Taehyung's outburst. "So many girls around and you choose Yoo Jeongyeon to fall in love with and elope?"
Jennie stared at the ground, avoiding Taehyung's eye contact the whole time. She couldn't look him in the eyes knowing she was committing a big sin behind his back. How can she tell him that her cousin had fallen in love with his supposed fiancee and is planning to elope with her, and not his business rival?
"Taehyung..." Stepping forward, Taeyong spoke. "Help me this one time. I conducted the tournament and saved some money to marry Jeongyeon. But her parents fixed her marriage to someone else, leaving us no option but to elope now. Help us. Please..."
But unfortunately, Taehyung was not having any of it. He disliked Yoo Jeongyeon to the core, being rivals in business and all. Also, he was not going to put himself in any of Taeyong's businesses. "No" Taehyung turned on his heels, after uttering one word.
Taeyong looked at Jennie, asking for help. From his looks, Jennie knew that Taeyong's and Seulgi's relationship was strong. "I thought you'd help 2 people in love" Jennie began, causing Taehyung to turn around. "You've helped your friend to get married once and I thought you'd help us. Sorry for asking"
Jennie strided forward, but Taeyong stopped her. "Jennie" He caught up with her, before speaking to Taehyung again. "Jeongyeon was Jennie's classmate. She can bring Jeongyeon out of her house. But from there, Taehyung, I need your help"

"Where the heck where you?" Taeyong hissed, when Jennie and Seulgi came to where he and Taehyung were waiting for them. Seulgi was dressed in all black, wearing a black mask, so that Taehyung won't recognize her.
Jennie had managed to bring Seulgi out of her house, without her parents knowing. 4 of them entered Taehyung's car, before driving off to the destination Taeyong said.
When they arrived there, Taeyong asked Seulgi to get into the cab which was waiting for them there, before turning to Taehyung and Jennie. "Thank you a lot, both of you" He thanked them. "I'll never forget this favor. If fate allows, we'll meet again. Everything I've to say is in this letter" He told Taehyung, passing him the letter. He bid them goodbye before joining Seulgi.
Jennie peeked to the letter when Taehyung opened it to read.
Kim fucking Taehyung,
I used to stand near the bus stop to see her. But you chased me away, saying that I was a flirt. When I started an internet cafe to see her, you filled a case against me saying that I was doing something illegal. I struggled in making money but finally decided to marry her but then you decided to marry her. I will never allow it. I won't give up my girl for you asshole!
Jennie's eyes widened when she read the whole letter Taeyong had written to Taehyung. She heard an audible gasp followed by a cuss word leaving Taehyung's mouth and she followed his line of sight, only to see, Kang Seulgi. She'd removed her mask and had decided to show herself to Taehyung. When Taehyung shifted his eyes back to the letter, Jennie did too.
PS : Don't come after us, please.

That was the last time Jennie had seen Taeyong. He had disappeared and didn't reappear like he usually do. Guess love really does change you for the good.
"Why are you coming so late?" Jaeho asked when he opened the door at midnight. Jennie stood there, leaning on the wall, looking sleepy. But seeing Jennie with a sad expression, he frowned. "What happened? Didn't pass the exam?"
Jennie walked towards Jaeho before hugging him tightly. She shaked her head no as an answer to his question. "It's okay dear"
Jennie heard her mother asking about the exam result. "Then why don't we proceed Hoseok's proposal?" Her mother suggested. Giving both of them a small smile, Jennie walked to her room, literally jumping onto her bed.
In the end, just like her Joohyun unnie, she felt she was destined to marry some idiot!

The next day, Jennie visited Nayeon's house in a hope to see her. But, she was disappointed to know that Nayeon had went to Japan hours before her arrival. After highschool, she had lost contact with Nayeon.
Returning back home, Jennie was met with In-na, who seemed restless when she saw her. Her aunt asked Jennie to come with her to somewhere. But, it was to a place Jennie least expected.
"Jennie, don't forget anything I told you" Her aunt started. "Hear him out first then decide. Your parents have never hurt you. Think of them when you take the decision. Now go"
Jennie stepped outside the car, taking each step of the awfully familiar way hesitantly. Apparently, Taehyung had told her aunt that he had something to say to Jennie. He'd asked her to meet him at his secret spot, up in the hill.
After climbing, Jennie huffed out a sigh of exasperation, seeing everything there looked exactly the same when she'd confessed to him years back. The cool breeze, the greenery, even Taehyung was standing in the same position. "The same old place" She scowled. "Only the rain is missing"
When Jennie walked closer to him, Taehyung turned around to face her, his intense gaze making her uncomfortable. She internally cursed herself for still feeling the butterflies in her stomach.
"You know Jennie" Taehyung started. "I'm an ordinary person, from a family of business men. But you're from a good family of doctors..."
Jennie clenched her jaw, not at all liking this conversation between them. She knew that he would be saying things like this. She wanted the rainfall, so she could run away from him.
"...We belong to different worlds" He continued. Jennie moved her gaze around, obviously uninterested with everything. She wanted to go back home and jump onto her bed. She wanted to go back to Seoul and chill with Chaeyoung and Lalisa.
"But..." Jennie rolled her eyes as he continued his talks. "....that doesn't matter to me" Her eyes instantly moved to find Taehyung's, only to realize that he was already staring at her, his whole body facing her, an inch distance between them. She watched him fish out for something in his pocket, only to reveal a familiar tiny black box. But when he opened it, an audible gasp left her lips, as if her lungs stopped working.
It was the same miniature red umbrella she'd thought of giving to him that day, the day she confessed to him. But now, it was a pendant.
Taehyung picked up the pendant in his hands, before going behind Jennie. He slowly brushed her hair to the side, exposing her neck. Jennie sucked in her breath when his fingertips slightly touched on her smooth skin. Taehyung put the beautiful pendant on her, before turning her around to face him.
Jennie stared at him, teary eyed, unable to process everything that was happening. She couldn't believe any of it. But when he made her look into his eyes, Jennie instantly melted under his gaze. The thousands of untold emotions were storming inside the pool of brown.
"It's a dream, it's a dream..." Jennie mumbled, staring at his eyes. She was so sure that it was all a dream and she would wake up any minute now. But what he said and did had her confirmed that it was not a dream. Because it felt too real to be a mere dream.
"I love you Lee Jennie" Taehyung confessed, before intertwining their hands together. He leaned towards her and the space between them exploded. Her heart kept missing beats at how his soft lips felt on hers.
When he kissed her, storms rose beneath her skin; for she was the ocean, and her, her moon.
Their first kiss.
