Season Two : Episode Seven, Haunted.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

October 2018

As the end of October was approaching most people we're getting ready for Halloween, which was one of Becca's favorite holidays. But this year she really isn't in the Halloween spirit, to keep her mind off Vince she's been distracting herself with work.

Speaking of work the 118 arrives at the graveyard, after a call came in about a groundskeeper's that stuck underneath piles of dirt. They all pile out of
the fire engine and ambulance trucks wearing their turnout gears approaching the groundskeeper.

"So, we have one guy still missing?" Bobby Said

"Yes, it's horrible. Elisio and Stavros were preparing
Mrs. Mandechek's final resting place, and they just got sucked in." He Mentioned

"Okay." He walked over to Chim as he was placing an oxygen mask on Elisio,"Sir, can you tell me what happened down there?" Bobby Said

"Me and Stavros were...digging a plot..." He coughed harshly, "When we got pulled in. Like the grave was digging itself." Elisio Said

Chimney used his flashlight and looked around the area, "A sinkhole. The quake shifted everything around down there. We're all basically walking
around on eggshells and bubble wrap. See it?"

"How long ago did this happen?" Bobby Asked

"I don't know. Half an hour, maybe?" Elisio Replied

"Let's move, guys." Bobby Said

A few moments later the team returned back near the area of the sink hole after putting down some wood on the ground, then everyone turned on their flashlights just in case they see anything. Buck stepped forward only to loose his footing but Bobby caught him, pulling him back.

"Whoa...Easy. This whole side is like quicksand. I don't want you to fall in there and drag ten tons
of loose soil on top of yourself and our friend down there." Bobby Said

"He's been breathing dirt for a half hour, Cap." Buck Said

"Well, maybe not." Bobby Said

"What are you thinking?" Buck Asked

"Eggshells and bubble wrap." Bobby Said

"Air pockets." Eddie Added

"Yeah, we just have to find out where they are." Bobby Said

Bobby took out his thermal imaging camera to scan the area, Buck and Becca looked over his shoulder at the scanner.

"Whoa, th-those aren't-" Buck Said

"Coffins and corpses." Bobby Nodded

"So that's where the air pockets are." Becca Said

Buck shook his head, "That's messed up."

Soon the monitor began beeping as he pointed it in the right direction.

"Oh. Hello, Stavros. All right, shovels and buckets.
Let's go." Bobby Said

The whole team was now digging up piles of dirt for several minutes now. Buck motioned for Violet to toss him a halligan bar which she did, and as he took a swing suddenly the dirt beneath them shifted making them all stumble.

"Whoa!" They all said

"Whoa. You okay?" Chimney Asked, holding onto Bobby.

"Yeah." Bobby Said

"Okay, that can't be good." Chimney Said

"We barely put a dent into the dirt and it's already shifting." Violet Said

"Stavros has got to get out of there before he starts suffocating." Eddie Said

Becca and Hen glanced up at the Excavator machine that's next to them, and they both thought of the same idea.

"Hey Elisio, you mind if we use this?" Becca Asked, pointing to the excavator.

"Sure." Elisio Said

"Where's the Keys for this thing?" Hen Asked

"Sh-Should still be in it." Elisio Said

Becca nodded for Hen to go as she got into the machine and sat down.

"We're gonna get this man out of here one damn way or another." Hen Said

"You heard her clear out!" Becca Shouted

"Whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa." Buck and Eddie Said

"All right, guys." Bobby Said

"Get out. Get out, guys." Violet Said

They all climbed out of the pit so Hen could work fast, she used the claw to pick up piles of dirt to give them a easier chance at getting to Stavros. Then got out and joined everyone as they digged and digged until they saw movement.

"Oh! I got-I got him." Bobby Said

Stavros hand appears and Bobby pulled him up from underneath the casket he was underneath. He started to take deep breaths as they all tried to relax him.

"Okay, easy. Easy. You're okay." Chimney Said

Violet jogged over with the backboard handing it over to Chim and Hen as they placed Stavros onto it.
Soon they got him onto the gurney and wheeled him away from the site.

"Now, that was strictly badass Hen, you literally pulled a man from a grave." Buck Said

"We did. I just hope they understand." Hen Said

"Hope who understands?" Buck Asked

"The spirits we disturbed. I don't need that mess following me home." Hen Said

Buck raised his brows then looked back over at the site, and watched as the Excavator fall into the ditch.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The next day at work so far the morning shift has been pretty much normal. Since everyone is done doing their respective chores and maintenance.

Downstairs Violet is busy walking on the treadmill, she looks over at Becca who's sitting in the locker room looking at her phone. Eddie and Buck who's working out as well walks over to her.

"Why are you staring at Becca?" Eddie Asked

"I'm not staring I'm observing." Violet Corrected

"Isn't that the same thing as staring?" Buck Chimed in

"Yeah I think so." Eddie Said

Violet rolled her eyes, "Okay I'm staring but I'm just making sure Becca's okay."

"Why is she not okay?" Buck Asked

"We all know that Becca is very stubborn to admit when she's not okay. But I know my best friend this is just her dealing with her emotions after the breakup." Violet Said

"Everyone takes breakups hard." Eddie Said

"Yes, but Becca takes them way harder..in the past if she's dated someone longer than a year and they breakup she becomes a train wreck. She'd go days without eating, sleeping or worse not showering." Violet Said

"Ew." Buck and Eddie Said

"Hey don't judge her." Violet Said, slapping their arms.

"Sorry, so what are you gonna do just wait for her to break down or something?" Buck Questioned

"No. I'm not gonna push..I'm just going to wait until she's ready to talk about it." Violet Said

"That seems reasonable." Eddie Said

"But unlit then I need you guys to look out for her whenever I'm not present okay?" Violet Said

"Of course." Eddie Said

"Anything for Becca." Buck Said

"Good." Violet Said

An hour later passed while upstairs Hen is sitting on the couch flipping through channels on the Tv.

"Hey." Becca Said

"Hey." Hen Said

"Whatcha watching?" Becca Asked

"Well I was watching Family Feud then got bored and started changing channels, now I don't know what I want to watch." Hen Said, until she lands on a channel that's playing soap operas.

"Hm I can watch a soap for a few." Becca Said, then sat down next to her.

"I'll watch anything to get my mind off my dad." Hen Said

"Wait your dad..I thought your dad left you when your were a kid?" Becca Questioned

"He did but now he's back but he's in a coma." Hen Replied

"Oh my god a coma?" Becca Said

"Mhm," Hen nodded, "He's suffered an intracerebral hemorrhage. And he's currently on life support and the doctors are wondering if I should take him off since I'm his next of kin."

"This is a huge responsibility, I can't even imagine the feeling you must be going through...especially for someone you haven't seen in a long time." Becca Said

"How do you make a big decision for someone who's basically a ghost to me.." Hen Said

"I don't know..but whatever you decide you know we'll all be there for you." Becca Said, sending a reassuring smile while placing her hand over Hen's.

"I know Becca." Hen Said, with a small smile.

"I don't know about you but I really need that alarm to ring, I could use a distraction from everything going on up in there." Becca Said, pointing to her head.

"Yeah speaking of how are you feeling since your break up?" Hen Asked

"Oh I'm fine, it's been two in a half weeks..but you know what I'm taking it day by day." Becca Replied

"So you're okay then." Hen Said

"Mhm, I'm okay." Becca Said

Hen squinted her eyes and raised a brow, "You sure?"

"Positive." Becca Said, slightly nodding.

"Okay then." Hen Said

Hen not really buying it but doesn't want to push it, goes along with her friends word. Just as the afternoon was creeping in a call came in about a victim who's fallen down a cliff.

They drive up the hill until they arrive at the starting point of the Abalone cove trail, Bobby looks ahead as his teams follows behind him.

"The old trail should be right up there. Park warden said they closed it down a few years back. Guess every once in a while they still get a thrill-seeker
who ignores the signs." Bobby Said

"They haven't been able to ping the phone?" Eddie Asked

"Yeah. No contact since the call was dropped." Bobby Said

The team continued walking further down the path, until Violet noticed what appeared to be a selfie stick on the ground.

"Cap." Violet Said

"Yeah." Bobby Said

"Guess this is where he went over." Violet Said, picking up the object.

"All right, everybody gear up. Hen, Chimney, Violet get the winch and the guidelines. Prep a basket just in case. I'm gonna radio Aerial Recon, have 'em on standby." Bobby Ordered

"Copy that." Chimney Said, as he, Hen and Violet walked off.

"Buck, Becca and Eddie you guys gear up your heading down." Bobby Said

"Got it cap." They said in unison

Bobby turned on his radio, "This is Captain Bobby Nash. T-118. Aerial Recon to Abalone Cove in Palos Verdes."

"Copy that, T-118." Dispatcher Replied

With that the three of them went to put on their gear, as Becca was adjusting her rappelling gear she looked outwards at the beach from a distance. She thought back to over the summer, when she and Vince celebrated their 5 month anniversary with a beach date.

It wasn't anything big or dramatic but it was simple and sweet, a surprise picnic date which Becca really enjoyed and loved. Smiling at the thought of the memory made her sad a little making her smile fade, while Buck and Eddie who's putting on their gear noticed the brunette staring down at the beach.

"Becca." Eddie Said, the brunette didn't hear him so he gestured towards Buck.

"Becca, Becca hey Becks?" Buck Said, gently shaking her arm causing her to snap out of her thought.

"Huh?" Becca Said, turning towards them.

"You okay, you looked kinda lost right there for a second?" Buck Asked

"Yeah I was just thinking of something that's all, but it's not important I'm fine." Becca Said

"You sure?" Eddie Asked, raising a brow.

"I'm sure oh by the way Buck your harness isn't on tightly." Becca Pointed out, patting him on the shoulder as she walked away.

Buck looked down and it indeed wasn't on fully, he quickly adjusted his harness making sure it's on properly. Soon Violet, Hen and Chim all came back with the winch and guidelines setting it all up, the trio then began to carefully make their way as the team watched on.

"All right, big jump, Eddie. Come on." Buck Said

Bobby noticed that helicopters were nearby, down below the trio went down a few more feet only stopping down near a small cliff, to see nothing in their sight.

"Becca, Buck, Eddie, you guys see anything down there?" Bobby Asked, into his radio.

"No. Just a million-dollar view." Buck Replied, into his radio.

Eddie looked around one more time until he noticed something underneath a rock. "Cap, found something."

"Is it our hiker?" Bobby Asked

Buck, Eddie and Becca leaned down to see what it what's underneath the rock. Only to see human skeletal remains.

Becca leaned towards her radio, "Well it as a hiker.
Don't think it's the one we came looking for."

"It's human remains, Cap. Skeletal remains." Eddie Added

"All right. Well, flag it but don't disturb it. We'll call it in." Bobby Said

Buck looked around the area to find a cellphone buried in the dirt, "Unless..."

Eddie Chuckled, "What, you think a ghost called 9-1-1?

Buck shrugged his shoulders, "I'm just saying."

A scream is heard in the distance, they perk their heads up.

"Help!"

"Okay. So, no ghost Buck." Becca Said, as the three of them stood up to follow where the voice is coming from.

"What's going on down there, guys?" Bobby Asked

"Yeah, I think we heard something, Cap." Buck Said

Up ahead there was someone on the ground, they see a man laying on the ground in distress and injured.

"Easy, buddy. We're here." Eddie Said

"Hey, Cap, we got a live one." Buck Said

"Can you tell us your name?" Becca Asked

"Ian." He grunted

"Ian, okay. We're gonna get you out of here, okay?" Becca Said

"My le-my leg is broken." Ian Said, looking down at the bone sticking out his leg.

"All right, guys, we're gonna send a basket down to you." Bobby Said

"How'd you find me?" Ian Asked

"It wasn't easy. You weren't on long enough for them to ping your phone." Buck Said

"On with who?" Ian Asked

"With, uh, with 9-1-1." Buck Mentioned

"I dropped my phone when I went over, I didn't call 9-1-1." Ian Said

The three of them all shared looks confused, if he didn't call then who the hell did. But before their thoughts went further, Ian groaned out in pain luckily Violet sent down the basket with the backboard so they can place him on it.

After assisting Ian and bringing him back up on land, Chim and Violet got to him as Hen got to the front seat of the ambulance. Bobby and everyone else got back on the engine and drove off away from the area.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

After work Becca headed home so she can live up her promise of, helping the kids carve out pumpkins for Halloween with Justin's help of course.

In the dining room Bryan, Aryana and Dylan were seen carving out their pumpkins. Justin was carving his out while Becca was taking the pumpkin guts out her's and making a mess.

"Mom, for someone who's worried we'd make a mess look at your station." Bryan Said, as they laughed.

Becca sighed loudly looking down at her hands, "I know right...I should have worn those gloves I just ruined my manicure."

"It's okay your white nails are now orange, which can be decorative for Halloween." Aryana Said

"Alright knives down its time for everyone to show their pumpkins. On three we'll all turn and show what we did, 1..2..3." Justin Said

They all turned their pumpkins around and all admired each other's designs. Bryan's was a traditional scary looking pumpkin face, Aryana
went with a surprised face while Dylan's pumpkin was a little messy yet adorable happy face.

"Wow." Becca Said

"Would you look at those pumpkins nice job guys." Justin Said

"Thanks dad." Dylan Said

"Clearly mines is better my pumpkin looks like Jack from nightmare before Christmas." Bryan Said

"Really? Because I don't see it." Aryana Said

"At least mines looks scary." Bryan Shrugged, looking over at Dylan's.

"Hey, what's that's supposed to mean does it look bad?" Dylan Asked

"No." Becca plucked Bryan's arm, "Your pumpkin looks amazing hun, it's definitely better than mines."

They all looked at Becca's unfinished pumpkin, Justin and the kids all put on fake smiles but she shook her head.

"Guys it's okay you don't have to smile I know it's horrible." Becca Said

"Okay, at least you said it what's going on there." Justin Said

"Yeah because that pumpkin looks questionable." Bryan Said

"Is the pumpkin supposed to be angry or sad?" Dylan Asked

"I think it's kind of both." Aryana Said

"Okay, okay that's enough leave my pumpkin alone." Becca Said

"Hey, since we're done can we put our pumpkin's out on the front porch mom?" Bryan Asked

"In a minute okay but first you guys clean this up, I need to wash this pumpkin smell off my hands." Becca Said

"Yah I'll join you." Justin Said, as the two of them walked into the kitchen.

"I never learn every year I always forget to put gloves on, hopefully next year I'll remember." Becca Said

"Oh please Becca you forgetting to your gloves on is practically our little tradition." Justin Joked, as they both laughed.

"I guess so." Becca Said

"So are you ready for tomorrow, for the first time in two years we'll be celebrating Halloween as a family." Justin Said

"Yeah about that..." Becca Said

"What? No don't tell me you have to work." Justin Said

"My shift doesn't end till 6...plus it depends on wether the call I'm on takes longer." Becca Said

"Then we'll wait for you, Becca the kids have been looking forward to this for weeks." Justin Said

"And I get that," She sighed, "I don't want you guys to miss Halloween because of me. If I'm being honest..I haven't really been in the spooky mood lately." Becca Admitted

"What's going on?" Justin Asked, concerned.

"I'm just dealing with some things..that I hope won't affect me in the long run." Becca Said

"It's Vince isn't it." Becca nodded and he did as well,
"You wanna talk about it?" Justin Said

"Justin." Becca Said

"We're friends we can talk about stuff like this, I mean I liked the guy for the short amount of time I knew him." Justin Said

"I did too..I just wish he was here that's all." Becca Said

"I know." Justin Said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"But I'll be fine I promise I'm a strong girl, I can handle this really.." Becca Said

"Sure you can you're one of the strongest women I know." Justin Said, as she smiled at him.

"Thanks Justin." Becca Said, as she leaned in and hugged him.

"No problem Becks," He hugged her back softly rubbing her back, "Halloween's not gonna be fun without you." Justin Said

"Oh don't worry I know, no one has more fun on Halloween than me." Becca Joked, as she pulled away and laughed.

"And we're done here." Justin Said, then walked out of the kitchen.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Halloween is finally here and The 118 is definitely in the spirit, the station was decorated nicely and as always there was a table full of treats to give away for trick or treaters.

The afternoon came and they all came back to the station, once finishing up their last shift. In the locker room Eddie was getting ready to get off his shift, he sat down on the bench as he took off his boots. Becca and Violet entered as well.

"Leaving so soon Edmundo." Becca Said

"Yeah, I wanna make it home in time to put my costume on so Chris and I can go trick or treating." Eddie Said

"Ah, what's your costume this year?" Violet Asked

"I'm going as Snake Plissken.." Becca and Violet furrowed their brows, "From the movie escape from New York? Kurt Russell plays him, come on guys." Eddie Said

"Doesn't he wear an eyepatch?" Becca Asked

"Oh yeah that's the one." Violet Said, as they nodded.

"Interesting costume choice very cute." Becca Said

"Thanks." Eddie Sighed

"Everything okay you seemed a little down today?" Violet Asked

"You're really good at knowing people's moods." Eddie Said

"What can I say I'm an empathetic person." Violet Shrugged

"What's up." Becca Said

"Okay well..I spoke to Shannon yesterday." Eddie Said

"Wait what?" Violet and Becca Said

"Yeah." Eddie Said

"What made you want to speak to her again?" Violet Asked

"You guys know that I'm thinking of changing Christopher's school right, and so far I think the school would be perfect for him." Eddie Said

"So how does Shannon fit into all of this?" Becca Questioned

"I'm getting there, well in order for us to move forward. There has to be a family interview with Shannon and I.." Eddie Said

"Oh Damn, Eddie." Violet Said

"I asked her to help but she wanted to see Chris first." Eddie Said

"And you said no?" Becca Said

"Yeah, I can't just let her see Cristopher so soon I mean...it's too risky." Eddie Said

"For who you or Chris?" Becca Asked

"You guys don't get it." Eddie Said

"Look we're not in this situation that your in, but Eddie..she's his mother at the end of the day." Violet Said

"The mother who left him." Eddie Said

"Yes but I'm sure deep down she regrets that every single day." Violet Said

"Eddie people can change I'm sure Shannon was hurting at time in her eyes she was alone, and I think over time the time you guys have been apart she's gotten herself better, so she be the best version of herself for Christopher." Becca Added

"Chris needs his mom too Eddie." Violet Said

"Mhm." Becca Said

"I don't know guys..." Eddie Said

"We're not saying you should forgive her right away, but think about it that's all...take some time. Hell there was a time when you loved her." Violet Said

Eddie looked between the two of them, knowing that they are coming from a good place and just want the  best for him.

"Okay, I'll talk to her tomorrow." Eddie Said

"Atta boy Edmundo." Becca Said, with a smirk.

"I can't stand you guys." Eddie Said, shaking his head with a small smile.

"Yeah but we're like your sisters from another mother, plus it's our job to call you out sometimes." Violet Said

"And to give you advice." Becca Chimed in

"That too." Violet Said, then the three of them laughed a bit.

"Okay, I gotta get out of here Chris is waiting for me." Eddie Said

"Have fun tonight." Becca Said

"We sure will he can't wait to show off his wolverine costume." Eddie Said

"Aww I bet he'll look so adorable, please send pictures." Violet Said

"I will, later guys." Eddie Said, putting on his jacket and closing his locker then leaving the room.

"Well I better be heading out too." Violet Said

"Wait I thought you were getting off the same time as me." Becca Said

"Nope as of right now my shift ends because I've got a date tonight." Violet Said, walking over to her locker.

"Wait how come you didn't tell me you had a date?" Becca Asked

"Well I didn't want to brag about meeting someone after you know...you and Vince broke up. I just didn't want to make you upset." Violet Said

"Oh Vi I don't mind." Becca Said

"You sure?" Violet Questioned

"Of course why should my sadness stop you from dating, look I appreciate you guys look out for me really. I'm just going through a breakup which is completely normal, I'll be fine." Becca Said

"I know you will Becks." Violet Said, as the two embraced.

"Now are you gonna tell me who's the lucky person?" Becca Asked, putting her arm around her shoulder.

"Ooh yes so his name is Xavier I met him three days ago at the hardware store. He was looking for a drill and I was looking for a hammer, we bumped into each other and started talking after 12 minutes of talking he asked me for my number and I of course gave it to him." Violet Explained

"Hm a man who knows what he wants that's exactly what you like." Becca Said

"Mhm, by the way I need your opinion on the costumes I should choose." Violet Said, taking out her phone.

"Uh Violet this is like nine costumes.." Becca Said, swiping through the photos.

"Yeah I might have went a bit too overboard with the costume's this year, we might be here a while." Violet Said, as Becca sighed.

Later on as the sun was setting the streets of L.A we're full of trick or treaters, downtown there was a Halloween party taken place but sadly it got out of control which resulted in a horse getting injured.

The 118 arrived at the scene as they made their way through the crowd, Bobby, Hen, Chimney, Becca and Buck stopped as they saw an officer comforting the injured horse.

"Easy, City. He never gets spooked. It was too many things at once." He Said

"I don't know if the air splint will fit his leg. I...you know, may-maybe I can try and rig something." Buck Said

"It's not just his leg." Becca Said

"Should I radio for Animal Services?" Chimney Wondered

"It's gonna take them an hour to get here. He's in pain." Hen Said

"Maybe the-the vet can fix it." Buck Hoped

"Horses are very prone to infection their intestines don't respond well to antibiotics. It's almost impossible for the immune response to work effectively." Hen Informed

"How much does he weigh?" Bobby Asked

"About a thousand pounds." The officer replied

"We don't have enough barbiturates on the truck to get it done." Hen Said

"He would need a sedative first." He Said

"Get it done?" Buck Said

"Otherwise he would just thrash around like crazy
till his heart gave out." He Said

"Are you sure you want to do this? We-we could...we could try other things." Becca Offered

"We both know they won't work. He's a good boy. I just don't want him to suffer anymore." He Said

City Slicker groaned out a bit but his officer never left his side.

"It's okay, bud." He sniffled a bit fighting his tears,
"It's okay...you can do it now."

Hen nodded then approached the horse, she kneels down and takes out the sedative from her bag and fills the syringe.

"Administering sedative." Hen Announces, then injects the syringe into the horse.

City slicker groans and whines some more, he moves a bit but Officer Dan tries his best to calm him down.
Becca kneels down next to him seeing that he needed someone there for him, she then gently caresses the horse which he was welcoming to her touch.

"Thank you, buddy. Thank you for keeping me company. Thank you for keeping me safe. Now you're gonna go to sleep, okay? When you wake up, you're gonna be in a field of sage, and you can just run forever. But you don't have to stay and watch anymore. You don't have to be strong or calm or brave. You can just be free. Just be a horse again." Dan Said, tearfully.

"Morphine." Hen Said, but she hesitated for a moment until Chimney looks to Bobby.

"Bobby." Chimney Whispered

"You want me to do it, Hen?" Bobby Asked

"No, I got it." Hen Said

She sighed and waited a moment but she just couldn't do it, Bobby kneeled down placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Hen.." Bobby Said

Hen nodded then handed the syringe over to Bobby, he injected the morphine into City Slicker gently and everyone around looped their arms together in a circle as they watched the horse in his final moments.

Becca absolutely couldn't help but cry, she usually doesn't cry on the job but when it involves animals of course she's gonna shed some tears.

"He's my friend...He's my friend." Dan Said

A little girl dressed in a Dorothy costume approached him, kneeling down beside him and hugs Officer Dan.

"He'll always be your friend...always." She Said

"Yeah." Dan Replied, with a small smile.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Now that Halloween was over and November is here,    as she got home still shaken up from the death of City Slicker. Her kids easily got her mind off things by telling her about their night of fun from trick or treating.

The next day while spending an afternoon cleaning up Halloween costumes, she got a message from Buck asking if she'd like to have lunch with him
and she said yes.

Upstairs in Abby's apartment Buck was in the kitchen preparing their lunch, while Becca was
in the living room flipping through channels on
the remote.

"Ooh yes Dodgeball is on we're definitely watching this." Becca Said

"Dodgeball? I don't think I've seen that movie." Buck Said

"What are you kidding me this movie has Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller it's a classic, trust me you'll love it." Becca Said

"Whatever you say," He entered the living room carrying two plates, "Okay here's your chow mein." Buck Said, handing her the plate.

Becca sniffed the food an a smile appeared on her face, "Mmm I haven't had chow mein in while, I've been trying my best to slow down on fast food."

"And how are you doing so far?" Buck Asked, taking a spoonful out of his chow mein.

"So far not to good but when you texted me saying you down for some Chinese what was I supposed to say no." Becca Said, shoving some in her mouth.

"Well thank you for coming I actually wanted you over here because I need your opinion on something." Buck Said

"Sure what's up." Becca Replied

"Man where do I even begin..lately I've felt lost." Buck Said

"Lost how?" Becca Asked, "Are you talking about Abby?"

"Yeah," He Sighed, "Becca I just don't know what direction to take. Everyone in my life..my sister, you guys..you're all on my side. Then I also needed to talk to someone on Abby's side." Buck Said

"Have you spoken to um Carla, she was Abby's mom's aide right?" Becca Said

"Yeah and she said she's not taking sides." Buck Replied

"Smart girl no one likes to be in between taking
sides between friends, it's very messy." Becca Said

"But, but she know's her. Honestly, maybe even better than I do right now." Buck Said

"If you mind me asking when was the last time you've even spoken to Abby?" Becca Said

"I, uh, haven't spoken to her in weeks. The gap between talks keeps getting longer, and the conversations shorter. There's this...this voice in
my head keeps on saying..."Move on, Buck.
She's never gonna come back." Buck Said

"Hey maybe she still cares about you, or she's just not ready to come home yet." Becca Assured

"At least not to this one." Buck Huffed

"Wait, what does that mean?" Becca Questioned

"Carla said that Abby's brother's been after her, you know, to come stay with them for a bit."

"And she said no..." Buck nodded slowly, she put her plate on the coffee table, "I'm so sorry Buck." Becca Said

"Don't be it's not your fault..look I get it Abby's never truly had a chance to live her life. And I'm happy she's getting that opportunity but I just don't know how much longer I can wait." Buck Said

"Hmm." Becca Said

"Everything in this place is hers Becca, she feels less and less a part of it every day. See, this-this whole time, I-I felt like I was being haunted by this memory of her, but..but maybe I'm the ghost. Lingering here when...when I should've moved on
a long time ago." Buck Said

"Are you ready for that? Actually willing to make the decision to move on from her. Because I know you were so happy with Abby, hell I think you might have even been in love with her." Becca Said

"I was...I loved her" Buck Said

"Right, but there's a time when we have to let go of the ones we once loved..to move forward with our lives." Becca Said

"Speaking from experience huh." Buck Said

"Oh yeah.." Becca Said, nodding her head.

"Does it get easier afterwards?" Buck Asked, Becca then put her hand over his.

"Eventually it will..one day you'll look back at this thinking, maybe it was for the best that you guys didn't end up together.." Becca Said, sending a reassuring smile at him.

Buck let's out a deep sigh, "I hope your right Becca."

"I hope so too Evan, you'll be okay." Becca Said, as Buck half smiled at her and gently squeezed her hand in return.

"Thanks Becks." Buck Said

"No problem hun but before you breakup with Abby and leave this apartment forever. Can we please watch the movie and eat before our food gets cold I'm starving." Becca Said, as Buck chuckled.

"Sure go ahead and dig in." Buck Said

Becca picked up her plate of food then began to dig in, Buck sat back as she scooted next to him as they watched the movie up on the screen.
