📷CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO📷
“Why did you bring me out here?” Junior asked looking around and seeing nothing but trees, bushes and an empty road.
“I was able to get in, though it wasn’t easy. The device in Amanda’s watch is military grade and as I am speaking to you the police are tracking her every move and listening to every conversation she’s having with anyone. It is even reading her pulse, see.” Nelson showed Junior the readings on the side of his laptop screen “This means her pulse is stable. The moment there is change in the readings, it will send a distress code and the police will not be too far. So, you need to be careful about what you say around her, which of course you already know.” He informed in one breath.
“Nelson!” Junior called; bringing him back to the matter at hand.
Nelson scratched the back of his head and said “listen to this.” On his laptop, he played the conversation that ensued between Amanda and Tony when he came to her house uninvited.
“That piece of shit!” Junior yelled after listening to that chapter of recording.
“Junior, what yellow file is Tony asking about?” Nelson asked, curious.
“Sebastian Cosgrove’s.” Wright Junior told him. A file which was of high importance to the company and was left in Junior's care.
“What does Tony want to do with it?” Nelson inquired again.
“I don’t know, but it can’t be good.” Wright Junior said letting out a soft sigh. “So, did she give it to him?”
“You should know this, Tony made sure Amanda wasn’t employed but you father was either taken by her or he wanted Tony pissed, so he hired her anyways. Amanda knew this too and she hated him ever since. And I know this because she tells me everything. I don’t know why she didn’t tell me about this one.” Nelson reported disappointedly.
Wright Junior knew Amanda was really close to Nelson and this made his blood boil, hearing Nelson admit it. Keeping his composure, he spoke “She told me about Sarah, not voluntarily. Father had her to come between Sarah and I so she did. And Sarah went nuts only to hear the news the next day saying she was found dead in her apartment. I think—"
Nelson interrupted “About that, there is no security footage about your trio at the parking lot. But I saved it on my system before it was erased, your father requested I did."
The idea of his father being ahead of him wasn't any surprise to Junior. He knew his dad, but what surprised him was the footage being erased “What! How could this be?” Wright junior was astonished by the news.
“According to the footage, after you and Amanda had left, Sarah went up, to Tony’s office and the cameras never caught her leaving the office.” Nelson added.
“Tony is behind this?” He asked, already convinced his cousin was really behind it.
“Yes. My guess is that he doesn’t want it to come back to him. He has control of all the cameras in the company. In the conference room, your office, cafeteria even in your Dad’s office.” Nelson pointed out “That’s why I had to call you out of the office.
Wright Junior was furious; he stepped out of the car and walked to stand in front of the it. Nelson took the laptop and followed after him.
“Every time I try to anticipate his next move or what goes on in that head of his, I fail.” Junior said beating himself “When I found out Sarah was cheating on me, I was broken and when I heard it was with Tony, I was outraged. One night I overheard her on a call reporting all my daily doings to someone on the phone. Where I went, people I met…, then I noticed something was up. I waited until she was in the shower then, I checked her call history. Tony was the last person she spoke to. It was rude but I had to protect myself somehow, I read the texts they sent to each other and I found out that my Girlfriend was spying on me for Tony. I survived two weeks with her before calling it quit but she wouldn’t let the break up happen.” He told Nelson as his mind traveled to that unfortunate night.
“Hmm, sorry bro, I’m certain all this drama happened way before you joined the company.”
“I know.” He turned to his side and looked at Nelson “So, did Amanda give the File to him?”
“There was no Yellow file to give in the first place. You won’t keep something that important in your office knowing all that is going on, so Amanda gave him a yellow file, but not the one he wanted.” Nelson summarized then he played the recording for Junior to listen to the conversation between Amanda and Tony at the photocopying room
“She is smart but I fear Tony won’t let it go. I just need to find a way to protect her somehow.” Junior said after the recording ended.
“What? You want to be her knight in a shining armor?” Nelson asked mockingly.
“Is there anything wrong with that?”
“No, no.” He replied, laughing.
“Oh my goodness, Nelson, how can you be laughing in a time like this?” Junior asked, trying to hide the shy smile on his face.
“Dude, you are in love.” Nelson bluntly told his god-brother.
“Oh shut up” Junior reacted, taking out his buzzing phone from his pocket “SHHH!” He hushed Nelson immediately then, he answered the call.
“Hello Dad.” Junior voiced
“Where are you?” he heard his father ask
“With Nelson, out of the office.” He replied, piercing a worried look at Nelson.
“Come home immediately!” He ordered and dropped the call.
Nelson turned to him and asked “What’s up.”
“We need to go.” Junior said.

Wright Junior and Nelson walked into the house and found Detective Debby sitting in the living room with the Chairman.
“Junior, you have to hear this.” Mr. Wright said, signaling Detective Debby to speak.
Junior got comfortable as well as Nelson on the couch and listened to the Detective as she spoke.
“We traced the missing funds to a deserted warehouse in the woods, my partner is there now. He’s yet to see anyone enter or leave the place.”
“OK.” Junior said paying kin attention to the Detective.
“About Sarah’s investigation,” Debby set her gaze on Wright Junior as she let on “Her door was open which means that someone other than her came into her apartment. She was found dead still wearing the dress she wore on the previous day, with an opened wine bottle and a glass cup having a little wine poured into it, on the center table which of course she did not drink from. According to the result, little amount of alcohol was found in her system, but the bottle found on the table was almost empty and also, her finger prints wasn’t found on the bottle and the cup. She didn’t touch the bottle that means someone else had arranged the table to look like that.” She explained “That is all we’ve gathered for now.”
“That means Sarah was murdered” Junior blurted.
“We are still looking into it.” She replied “Did you bring the tape?” She asked Nelson.
“Ye-s.” He stuttered, almost lost in the conversation. He took out the disk and handed it to the Detective.
“Thank you.” She told Nelson and then said to the Chairman “I’ll be on my way now. Whatever comes up, I’ll inform you ASAP."
“Thank you Detective for your hard work.” The Chairman said, taking her outstretched arm in his.
She walks towards Wright Junior and Nelson, greeted them and then left the room.
