Plot
When a mission goes wrong, Raph gets seriously injured and unfortunately the wounds are too severe so Mariella attempts to heal Raph but no avail. So Mariella taps into a rather powerful side of her healing Mystic power but makes the ultimate sacrifice, using up her life to save Raph's.

How.. how could have it gone so wrong so fast? It was a simple mission, but it went up in flames so quickly. Everything was dark at the moment, but Raph began to hear muffled out voices and the snapper tried to open his eyes as his vision was blurry but began to clear up. However he started to hear a faint ringing in his 'ears' along with the muffled voices of his brothers and Mariella as the ringing settled down after a bit.

"Raph..! Raph can you hear me?"

Raph grunted softly in pain and his vision cleared up as he saw Leo, the blue masked brother had a couple of scrapes and bruises but seemed okay for the most part. Soon Mikey came into view as well, the younger brother had some bruises and cuts but it didn't bother him since he was more worried for his older brother.

"Raph! You're awake!" Mikey looked like he was about to start crying and Raph tried to get back up or at least sit back up but recoiled in pain, collapsing back onto the ground with a pained yell.

"Whoa whoa, easy hermano.. you took a lot of damage." Leo said, he got Donnie's help to move most of the rubble off so they could assess the damage before Leo turned to Mariella who had her kitsune mask moved away from her face, she had a couple of cuts and a bit of soot on her cheeks but looked fine but was hiding her broken arm. "Mari, can you handle Mikey's injuries? Me and Dee are gonna see what the damage is with Raph." Leo said.

"On it!" Mariella went over to Mikey and winced but hid it as her bracelet gave a gentle seafoam green glow and it enveloped her hands, she hovered one hand over Mikey's bruises and they were surrounded by the same glow as they slowly but surely begun to heal up as if they weren't there.

Donnie used his tech gauntlet as he had added a scanner feature so he could get an X-ray of what exactly was wrong as he then brought up a holographic screen of the scan, the purple masked turtle had been banged up pretty good but his soft shell was unharmed thanks to his battle shell. "What's the damage Donnie?" Leo asked, turning to his twin.

"Raph's sustained some rib fractures, parts of his plastron are cracked, his left humerus is broken and he may have a possible tibial shaft fracture.." Donnie said, he looked concerned about what he was seeing on the scan as Leo let out a shaky sigh but nodded. Raph felt his body growing weary and soon a burning feeling came from his chest as Raph started to cough rather harshly, catching Leo and Donnie's attention along with Mariella and Mikey's.

"Raph!" Mikey felt tears prick his eyes and Mariella pulled Mikey to her as she hugged him, she could only imagine how painful it was for the brothers to see the oldest in this much pain.

Leo tried to help Raph steady his breathing and Raph covered his mouth with his hand, coughing more but when he moved his hand, his face paled.. blood staining the dark bandaging around his hand. The metallic taste and scent of blood was present now as Donnie felt his heart pounding against his plastron, seeing the blood sickened him but it worried him more.

"He must have internal bleeding as well.." Donnie said, Leo saw the look of worry on his twins face along with Mariella's and Mikey's but his thoughts were cut off when he heard a thud. Raph ended up falling back onto the rubble below him and his breaths were growing short, Leo turned to Mariella.

"Mari, I know you've never healed anything like this but.. I'm begging you! Please save him.." Leo said, he didn't know it but a few tears pricked at his eyes.

"R..Right." Mariella let Mikey go and Donnie and Leo stood back as Mikey then clung to Donnie for comfort, Mariella went to Raph and she focused her power once again as she gently put her hands over Raph's plastron, a gentle seafoam green glow came from her hands and spreaded to the rest of the red masked turtle's body.

"Is this going to work?" Donnie asked, he was unsure if Mariella's healing could fix this but it was the only chance they have at the moment. "It has to." Leo said, one of his hands balled into fists as Donnie heard a beeping come from his gauntlet as it showed Raph's status, he brought it up for the others to see.

"He's getting worse! The healing isn't working! If we don't do something soon-!" Donnie exclaimed, he didn't realize it but tears fell down the soft shell's cheeks as Mikey was trembling and he ended up crying while Leo looked distraught that they would end up losing Raph.

Mariella felt her arms shaking and she gave a shaky whimper as she didn't want to give up, a few of her tears landed on Raph's plastron and her miscolored eyes gave a gentle seafoam green glow.

"No.. I'm not going to lose him. I'm not losing another person! Please Raph, hold on a little longer! I'm not letting you die!" Mariella said, the glow around her hands intensified and her bracelet flared to life with glowing Mystic Energy and Mariella had now tapped into something completely new in desperation to save Raph's life.

Leo, Mikey and Donnie watched with surprise as Mariella pressed on with the healing and Donnie looked at the status and saw that Raph's stats were climbing back up significantly. Mariella felt her arms trembling worse but kept it under control as she gave a cry, using everything she had as a shockwave along with a blinding light of seafoam green Mystic power spreaded around and a shattering noise was heard.

The boys had to cover their eyes and when the light died down, Leo uncovered his eyes and saw Mariella move her hands away as the red eared slider went over to Raph and worry laced his face. "Raph..?" Leo said, Raph's eyes snapped open and he sat up with a gasp as he held his head in his hand.

"Ugh.. what happened..?" Raph mumbled, soon he was hug tackled by his brothers as Mikey was sobbing and nuzzling Raph while Donnie and Leo hugged their brother despite Donnie not liking physical affection but he allowed it this one time.

"Mari, you did it!" Leo said, he smiled and turned to the girl before his smile disappeared and Raph looked over too, his eyes widening as the boys saw Mariella's bracelet was broken, the gems shattered on the now bent silvery metal.

Mariella had collapsed onto the ground, her hands and arms covered in seafoam glowing green mark like burns, her skin pale, her kitsune mask cracked slightly down the eye and she laid on the ground as if she was a doll on the pavement.

"No.. no no no! Mari!" Raph ran over to her and he gently scooped up Mariella into his arms as he gently hit her face with one hand, attempting to wake her up.

"Mari, C'mon Mari wake up! This isn't funny!" Raph said, his voice breaking a bit as Leo used one hand to cover his mouth, looking away and he closed his eyes tightly as tears pricked his eyes yet again.

"Mari! Wake up, please wake up! Open your eyes! WAKE UP MARIELLA!!" Raph shook Mariella in his arms but saw no reaction come from her and Raph felt hot tears falling down his cheeks as Mikey gave a cry, clinging to Donnie as Donnie hugged his little brother but he had some tears falling too. Raph looked down at Mariella in his arms and it felt like his chest was tightening up, he lost her.

The snapper couldn't believe it, he didn't want to believe it. Raph let out a cry like yell full of anguish and agony as his body shook softly, Mariella had did what she needed to rescue him from certain death but at the cost of her own life.
