"I'm gonna pack my things and leave you behind

This feeling's old and I know that I've made up my mind

I hope you feel what I felt when you shattered my soul

'Cause you were cruel and I'm a fool

So, please let me go

But I love you so (please let me go)

I love you so (please let me go)

I love you so (please let me go)

I love you so"

The sky was a brilliant blue, signaling the start of a new day. Birds were chirping and the sun was shining bright. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and a comfortable temperature. A perfect day.

Nothing would ruin this day for you.

You were currently at the park, enjoying the favorable weather, thinking of ideas of what to get Anne as a gift for her birthday.

'Maybe I could paint her something? Or maybe I could buy her a plushie.'

When it came to getting gifts for people, you never held out. You wouldn't give someone a cheap gift, even if your life depended on it. Sometimes you could be a people pleaser.

Suddenly, an idea came to you, and you immediately began to work on greeting the items for Anne's gift.

After visiting a few stores, you went back to the park and picked a few flowers, preparing to make a flower crown for Anne.

'I'll make sure to use blue flowers because I'm pretty sure she likes the color blue.'

You had crafted a flower crown carefully, making sure it was in good condition.

Anne's birthday was a few days away, and you wanted to be prepared, even if it was on a school day. You appreciate your friends, and wouldn't want to give them anything less.

Feeling your stomach grumble, you decided to visit a cafe after putting your gifts in a secure bag.

Surprisingly, you hadn't been to many places in California, even after living there for months. Due mainly to your anxiety, which kept you from doing things.

Walking to the nearby cafe, you opened the door and walked up to the counter. A variety of treats lined up under the glass.

'They all look so good! I don't know which one to choose.'

A person walked up to the counter. They had purple hair styled in a wolf cut, with a few vine tattoos on their shoulder and face. You blushed at the sight of them.

"Hello! What may I get for you today?"

Making a decision, you asked for your favorite treat. "Hi, may I order '___', please?"

Nodding, the person behind the counter grabbed your treat and put it in a brown bag. You paid and took the brown bag from them.

"Thank you, come again."

Smiling, you returned the kind gesture.

As you walked out of the cafe, you noticed a yellow Post-it note on your bag. Curious, you read it.

"Call me ;), '_______'. -Violet"

Your face erupted in red. (Bro (Y/N) has ultimate rizz.)

'No way?!?!'

Taking a breath, you calmed down and put the number in your phone, nicknaming them 'Vi'.

'Maybe visiting places more often wouldn't be so bad after all.'

You smiled, happy with all of the progress you've made, no longer afraid of meeting new people. (Mostly)

Only an hour or two had passed, and the day was still present, so you decided to spend the rest of it walking around town.ย

โœงห–ยฐสš๐Ÿ“ษžโ™ก

Yawning, you got up to get ready for school early. Time had passed quickly, and before you knew it, it was already Anne's birthday.

Grabbing her gifts, you sat them down next to your bag. You planned on sleeping at Anne's house after her birthday, so you packed a backpack full of necessities. Your favorite outfit, jewelry, makeup, food, deodorant, a pฬถoฬถcฬถkฬถeฬถtฬถ ฬถsฬถtฬถaฬถfฬถfฬถ. (Lmfao)

You were excited to celebrate your friend's birthday, not getting the chance to do so with your previous friends. For some reason, they never invited you to their birthday parties, which hurt your feelings.

Frowning, you grabbed your things after putting on your school uniform and walked out the door.

You were never able to forget about how your old friends treated you.

โœงห–ยฐสš๐Ÿ“ษžโ™ก

You were currently walking to science class, ready to give Anne her gifts.

Walking inside the classroom, you spotted Anne and Sasha sitting by each other. They both noticed you, and Sasha waved you over.

"Hey, girl."

"Hey, Sasha!"

She smiled at your enthusiasm, a slight blush forming on her cheeks.

Turning your attention to Anne, who was now looking up at you, you pulled the gift out from behind your back and set it in front of her.

"Happy Birthday Anne!"

She looked surprised, then began smiling at you. "Thanks (Y/N), but you didn't have to get me anything."

You shook your head. "I wanted to! Why wouldn't I give my friend a present on their birthday? By the way, I didn't exactly know what you wanted, so I got a variety."

Anne looked inside the bag, admiring the things you got her.

She seemed to like the things you bought her a lot, judging by her reaction.

"Thank you so much (Y/N)! You're the best!"

You blushed, thankful for the praise. "No problem."

A tap on your shoulder causes you to turn around. It was the same person from the cafe. Your face became red.

"I didn't know you were in this class. What a coincidence!", they continue, "I didn't know if you saw the note, but the name's Violet."

You nodded, flustered and at a loss for words. Violet noticed your nervous smile and smirked. "Nice to see you, sweetheart."

Violet walked to the back of the room leaving you flustered. Anne and Sasha were watching the entire time and unbeknownst to you, were glaring at Violet. (Jealous much?๐Ÿ˜)

The bell rings, so you take a seat next to Anne and Sasha, who were still staring at Violet with hate.

The teacher walks in.

"Alright, class. Today's your lucky day cause it's Frog Dissection day."

Everyone in the class groaned.

Anne makes a face of disgust."Ugh! Frogs are the worst."

Sasha takes this as an opportunity. "Right? Let's get outta here. Mrs. Virk, the sight of blood... I-- I'm gonna be sick."

The teacher responds quickly, caring more for the dead frogs than Sasha. "Oh, dear. Anne, (Y/N), why don't you take Sasha to the sick room before she desecrates these beautiful frog bodies with her vomit? Thank you."

You giggle at the teacher's ridiculousness and follow Anne to take Sasha to the sick room, also worried for Sasha's health.

"Yo, Sash. Sick room's over here." Anne says, pointing at the door.

Sasha sighs. "Forget the sick room. Forget school. Let's get out of here and celebrate your birthday in style."

'She was faking? So my concern was for nothing?'

"Oof, skip school? I don't know, Sashโ€”"

Sasha replies quickly, trying to convince Anne to skip school. "Anne, this is your 13th birthday. You only get one of these. So let's make it the best birthday in the history of birthdays."

Anne looks at Sasha. "Well... all right. I gotta be home by 6:00, though. My parents are throwing a big party and they really want me to be there."

"Right, right, you got it. Now let's get this thing started!"

The three of you laugh and leave school, despite you having a feeling you should not be doing this. Before now, you had never even skipped school before. So reasonably, you were anxious about doing so.

Being the "good kid", you never desired to skip class but felt like you had to anyway. You didn't want to anger your friends.

โœงห–ยฐสš๐Ÿ“ษžโ™ก

You, Anne, and Sasha participated in many fun shenanigans. Riding a shopping cart down a hill and almost hitting someone, or playing a dance game.

.

"Whoo! Top score." Anne sighs, "Phew!" As Sasha kicks the machine and steals the coins.

.

Or, maybe like spray painting a wall that belongs to the city.

Sasha hands Anne the spray can after decorating the wall with graffiti.

A cop car with its sirens on passes, and Anne drops the can Sasha handed to her. "Ah!"

.

Or, even drinking sugary caffeine from a coffee shop.

"So that's what a unicorn tastes like. Corn syrup."

You nod your head while sipping your drink, agreeing with Anne. She perks up when a notification appears on her phone. "Huh?"

"Oh, shoot. It's almost 6:00. I gotta go, dudes."

You frown but nod, ready to leave with Anne.

Sasha interrupts you both while rolling her eyes. "Family party, right? Lame. Let me guess, a clown? With balloon animals?"

Anne blushed in embarrassment. "I know it's not the coolest, but this is important to them."

You agree, "Exactly."

"Mmm-hmm," Sasha responds sarcastically, until getting a notification on her phone.

"Oh, my gosh. Marcy says she found the perfect gift for you downtown. Hah! A frog music box for the frog lover. I wonder if those gems are real." She begins to push you and Anne toward the door. "Come on. Let's keep this party train rollin'. Choo-choo!"

Anne stops and grabs your hand, making a move to leave. "Sorry, dude, you don't understand. I really gotta go."

Sasha's attitude changed immediately, becoming stern.

"Oh, I understand, Anne. You're a good little girl who's gotta go home to her mommy and daddy. Come on. Hang out with your friends that love you."

"Sasha, I'd really like to, butโ€”"

Sasha puts her hand up. "Anne, this isn't cute anymore. We are meeting up with Marcy right now. End of discussion."

Both of you stared at her in shock, and as you were about to argue, Anne interrupted before you could.

Anne gives in, chuckling nervously."I guess it's okay if I'm a little late..."

'I can't believe that just happened. Why is Sasha suddenly acting like this?'

You cut your thoughts short to keep up, as Sasha grabbed your and Anne's hand. However, you were still angry at Sasha's behavior.

โœงห–ยฐสš๐Ÿ“ษžโ™ก

Eventually, you arrived at the thrift store Marcy was at. You expected Sasha to buy the music box, but what she told Anne to do shocked you.

Sasha was making Anne steal the music box.

As Marcy was talking to Sasha, you gave Anne a worried look. You whispered, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

She looked unsure but nodded anyway. "Yes. Sasha's my friend, and I don't want to upset her... It's what friends do."

You could tell she felt differently, so you grabbed her hand and rubbed circles into it with your thumb. You naturally comforted people, especially those you care about.

Anne calmed down almost immediately. She blushed and smiled softly, looking at the floor.

It was finally time for her to steal the box, and you were nervous. The star-shaped crystal on the box was familiar, but you couldn't figure out why. Sasha's encouragement to Anne snapped you out of your train of thought.

'Why is Sasha making Anne do this? And not to mention Marcy is on board with it too?!'

However, what you wanted was only a mere wish. You knew better than to try to get Sasha to believe differently.

Anne enters the store and quietly whispers motivational sayings, trying to convince herself everything would be alright. She waits till the right moment to put the box in her bag and looks out the window to see Marcy giving her a thumbs-up.

The four of you entered an alleyway. Anne pulled out the music box, which was decorated in gold, with inscriptions of frogs on it. The four crystals it sported caught your eye.

"I wonder what's inside?"

Coming to the same question, Anne twisted the lever, opening the music box.

A bright rainbow light engulfed you, warping everything in your direction
