I want to be like my mom when I grow up. Observing how happy she looks as we walk out of the airport gives me a sense of satisfaction.
Her fingers interlock with those of her husband, my new father, while her second hand rests gently on my shoulder as we enter the limousine sent from the GREG RESORT to pick us up at our new home in California.
She's my role model; she’s strong, focused, and has a good eye for men. I like my dad, Mr. Adewale Rotimi Smith, far more than Uncle Chidi, my mom’s ex.
My mother had a sad beginning, and now she is laughing at last, a sign of hope and new beginnings.
Now I don’t have to continue at Comand Secondary School anymore; Daddy said I would finish my education here. Sure, I’ll miss my friends, but please, I’ll make new ones. I almost forgot; I’ll soon be a big sister. #smiles#
