❝ waterland ❞

ARIADNE WATCHED FAMILIES AROUND HER EAT EAT BURGERS AND MILKSHAKES. And she was sure she was drooling almost as much as Percy does when he sleeps, which is quite a lot.

The milkshakes had condensation running down the glasses, and she could only watch as kids downed them in one sitting, imagining what that cool feeling would be down her throat if she had one.

Her stomach was clenching one hunger, ready to start eating itself although, she's sure it has already started.

A waitress approached them as they sat in a booth in the chrome diner, a skeptical look on her face as she eyed the dirty looking kids who looked homeless. "Well?"

Percy was the brave one to speak up, due to how his friends were wallowing in their hunger. "We, um, want to order dinner."

"You miss have money to pay for it?"

No was the answer on their minds, but a sob story was on their tongues. Hopefully, Percy could create one believable enough, but the brunette knew it wouldn't work.

Grover was close to bleating in his hunger, close to eating the linoleum. Annabeth was pale and Ariadne was almost sure she was ready to pass out. And Percy, well, he was trying his best. The boy was trying to keep himself together but he was almost ready to burst into tears because of his hunger.

She opened her mouth to start spewing out reasons why they couldn't but a rumbling shook the whole street. A motorcycle the size of a baby elephant pulled onto the curb, parking as a burly looking man stood from it.

The sleek bike had a seat that looked like it was made of human skin, but maybe it was just convincing looking leather. That was what she hoped. It's headlight was red, one that always made people think of anger.

All conversation had died down, everyone enthralled with the man who walked through the door followed by the standard chime of the bell at the top.

The guy on the bike was bigger than any pro wrestler she had ever seen. His muscles bulging under his red shirt that was covered in an expensive leather jacket, black jeans over his legs as his boots seemed to shake the ground. A knife was strapped to his thigh, and her senses became heightened. His eyes were covered by red-tinted sunglasses that made him look even handsomer, although he didn't have any hair, it suited him. But his face was scarred from what she assumed to be fights, he must've won all of them.

He made her angry. Extremely, angry. She had the urge to grab her sword and start fighting him, and her eyed widened once she saw a vine growing from a crack in the sidewalk outside. The biker had an aura around him that could only be explained as rage personified, aggression and a bitterness in each step he took.

But his sneer gave him away. It had a familiarity to it, sometimes twisting into a scowl when he looked at a certain person. But it was the same sneer she had seen so many times on Clarisse when she once again lost a fight to the brunette girl, or when cabin five was destroyed by Percy in the last Capture the Flag game.

Ares.

As he walked through the diner everyone stood up, hypnotized by his prescience. She could tell he enjoyed it, even with his glasses covering his eyes. And with a dismissive wave of his hand, every sat back down and acted like nothing had ever happened.

The waitress standing in front of them seemed to forget what just happened and repeated her question, "You kids have money to pay for it?"

"It's on me," Ares told her. Sitting in their booth which caused him to squish Annabeth against the window.

Ariadne could tell her friend was fighting the anger in her eyes knowing what the god could do, but the brunette herself was not capable of that restraint and she was ready to throttle Percy and hit Grover over the head.

Ares's voice was rough and reminded her of an expensive car revving up, and it had a hint of distaste for everything.

The waitress stiffened, gaping at the man who she most likely found to intoxicating to leave. "Are you still here?"

She spun around and walked back towards the kitchen once he pointed over at her nonchalantly.

Percy stared back as Ares looked at him, "So you're old Seaweed's kid?"

"What is it to you?" He snapped with a glare sent towards the god, and Ariadne pursed her lips.

"Percy," her tone was full of warning, "this isβ€”"

"S'okay," Ares stopped her by holding up his hand, and she was ready to cut it off right then and there. She didn't appreciate him stopping her, but she realized his presence was getting her riled up. "I don't mind a little attitude. Long as you remember who's the boss. You know who I am, little cousin?"

Percy finally realized who he was, "You're Clarisse's dad. Ares, god of war."

The god gave him an arrogant grin, removing his glasses and placing them on the table. In his eye sockets are eyes yes, but they were so full of fire and anger that she would have mistakes them for explosions.

"That's right, punk. I heard you broke Clarisse's spear?"

"She was asking for it."

He shrugged, "Probably. That's cool. I don't fight my kids' fights, you know? What I'm here forβ€” I heard you were in town. I got a little proposition for you."

Ariadne's eyes furrowed, she shared a look with Annabeth before being drawn towards the waitress carrying trays of food.

There were four chocolate milkshakes set down in front of them, onion rings set in a basket on the table as their burgers were placed down before them. And Ariadne's favorite; curly fries.

Ares handed the waitress a few drachmas, which she looked at nervously. "But, these aren't..."

"Problem, sweet heart?" He said as he picked at his nails with his giant knife, and the woman was ready to pass out from either terror or because she was so intoxicated by him.

So she left with the gold coins and returned to the kitchen, and Ariadne narrowed her eyed at the god who didn't care what he had just done.

"You can't do that," Percy argued. "You can't just threaten people with a knife."

Ariadne was sure he could, but it wasn't right. But she was her if she butted in between them, Ares would threaten to run her over with his bike even though her father was his half-brother. And Percy would probably get mad at her later for putting herself in danger, for some odd reason that angered him.

"Are you kidding?" The god laughed, "I love this country. Best place since Sparta. Don't you carry a weapon, punk? You should. Dangerous world out there. Which brings me to my proposition. I need you to do me a favor."

"What favor could I do a god?"

Ares noticed his sarcasm, "Something a god doesn't have time to do himself. It nothing much. I left my shield at an abandoned water park here in town. I was going on a little... date with my girlfriend. We were interrupted. I left my shield behind. I want you to fetch it for me"

Percy was getting angrier, "Why don't you go backs and get it yourself?"

The god was not a fan of the boys attitude, but if he tried anything, Ariadne would let her anger loose.

"Why don't I turn you into a prairie dog and run you over with my Harley? Or turn Ariadne over there into a dolphin and release her into the ocean?" When the god mentioned her name, the girl glared and Percy was ready to leap over the table. "Because I don't feel like it. A god is giving you an opportunity to prove yourself, Percy Jackson. Will you prove yourself a coward?"

He leaned forward and closer to the boy, "Or maybe you only fight when there's a river to dive in, so your daddy can protect you."

Percy wasn't going to let the god get to him, but Ariadne wasn't prideful, she was just protective and angry.Β  "We're not interested," she growled which earned the god's attention. "We've already got a quest."

"Ah," Ares smirked, "Ariadne Phoenix. Haven't heard your name in a while. Last time I did, Clarisse asked me to kill you, obviously, I didn't do it. My girlfriend would have killed me if I did. Can't have that, no can I?"

She crossed her arms, "You could deal with it."

"I know about your quest, punks." He sneered at them, obviously not liking the two demigods. "When that item was first stolen, Zeus sent his best out looking for it: Apollo, Athena, Artemis and me, naturally." She rolled her eyes along with Percy, "If I couldn't sniff out a weapon that powerful..."

Ares licked his lips in thought, "Well...if I couldn't find it, you got no hope. Nevertheless, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. Your dad and I go way back. Same with you, Grape Girl." And Ariadne knew where Clarisse got the nickname from, "After all, I'm the one who told him my suspicions about old Corpse Breath."

"You told him Hades stole the bolt?" She asked,Β  leaning forward with her glare. Percy gripped her hand under the table to stop her from talking, and she immediately stopped.

The god shrugged, "Sure. Framing somebody to start a war. Oldest trick in the book. I recognized it immediately. In a way, you got me to thank for your little quest."

Ariadne almost leaped over the table but a glance from Annabeth, Grover's terrified look and Percy's hand in hers made her sit back.

"Thanks," Percy let out a grumble, hand interlocking with the brunette's.

"Hey, I'm a generous guy. Just do my little job, and I'll help you on your way. I'll arrange a ride west for you and your friends."

"We're fine on our own.@

Ares chuckled dryly, "Yeah, right. No money. No wheels. No clue what you're up against. Help me out, and maybe I'll tell you something you need to know. Something about your mom"

Percy's head shot up, "My mom?"

"That got your attention," the god grinned. "The water park is a mile west on Delancey. You can't miss it. Look for the Tunnel of Love ride."

"What interrupted your date?" Percy mocked, "Something scare you off?"

Ares's eyes lost some of its fire and she wasn't sure if it was because Percy mentioned his girlfriend or from nerves. "Your lucky you got me, punk, and not one of the other Olympians. They're not as forgiving of rudeness as I am. I'll meet you back here when you're done. Don't disappoint me."

And with that, Ariadne felt her eyes close heavily before shooting them open, Ares gone.

Grover was shaking, "Not good. Ares sought your out, Percy. This is not good."

The boy didn't care, he glanced out the window where the motorcycle once was. But all that was left was an empty curb, and he squeezed her hand a bit tighter.

Ariadne chugged her milkshake, leaving some left as she stared at Percy. "It's probably some kind of trick. Forget Ares. Let's go."

"We can't," Annabeth told him with a pale face. "Look, I hate Ares as much as anybody, but you don't ignore gods unless you want some serious bad fortune. He wasn't kidding about turning you into a rodent."

"Why does he need us?"

The brunette sighed, "Ares has strength. That's all he had. Even strength needs to bow down to wisdom sometimes."

She noticed Annabeth's growing grin and her eyes widened, "I take that back."

"Nope," the blonde shook her head. "You already said it."

"Well I take it back." She faced Percy with a determined look on her face, "Strength needs to bow down to knowledge sometimes"

Percy chuckled, "Nah, is pretty sure you said it needs to bow down to wisdom."

Ariadne groaned as Grover jumped in, "Yeah, Aria, didn't you say that?"

Annabeth let out a laugh while the brunette groaned about how no one was on her side, but it stopped once Percy spoke up again. "O-o-okay... But this water park... he acted almost scared. What would make a war god run away like that?"

She narrowed her eyes her burger, swallowing the lump in her throat. "I'm afraid we'll have to fin that out for ourselves."

And Percy squeezes her hand a bit tighter with those words, forgetting all about who Ares's girlfriend was, and what the river woman told him about two doves.

And they sat on a branch outside, ready to take flight once more as they cuddled together, the sun going down behind the mountains.

Β  Β Β  WATERLAND WAS ONCE A POPULAR ATTRACTION SHE ASSUMED. But with how it looked now, she would beg to differ. With a sign that now says WAT RΒ  A D.

The gate was padlocked with barb wire running along the top, which made her wonder who would jump the gate to get into a water park. Huge water slides were everywhere, curling along the ground and it's structures into pools filled with dirt and mold instead of water.

Tickets laid on the ground as advertisements blew in the wind, it was truly a shell of what was once so full of life, especially in then dark.

Percy followed the barbed wire at the top of the gate, "If Ares brings his girlfriend here for a date, I'd hate to see what she looks like."

Ariadne pinches the bridge of her nose, ignoring her headache.

"Percy," Annabeth told him, "be more respectful."

"Why? I thought you hated Ares."

"He's still a good. And his girlfriend is very temperamental."

Grover shook his head, "You don't want to insult her looks."

"Who is she? Echidna?"

Ariadne snorted at the comment, which earned her disapproving glares from Annabeth and Grover. "Nope. Aphrodite, goddess of love. And boy are her children like her."

Percy froze, "Wait. What's her symbol?"

Annabeth jumped in, "Golden appeal, seashells, rose, doves."

The boy gulped, "Doves?" He squeaked, Ariadne raises her eyebrow.

"What, Kelp Head, are you scared of them?"

"No."

She hummed before he changed the subject, "I thought she was married to somebody... Hephaestus."

"What's your point?" Grover asked.

"Oh... so, how do we get in?"

Grover grinned, "Maia!"

His shoes sprouted it's wings before flying over the fence, showing off with a flip before landing on the other side. The Saytr had the nerve to call over to them, "You guys coming?"

Ariadne grit her teeth before they had to climb over the regular way, she almost got her hair ripped out of her scalp before falling into Annabeth's arms.

She gave the girl a cheeky grin before her butt slammed against the pavement with a groan, the blonde dropping her with a shake of her head.

Ariadne realized why it closed once she saw the attractions: Ankle Boyer Island, Head Over Wedgie and Dude, Where's My Swimsuit?

There were no monsters and it was silent, minus their footsteps. But that didn't comfort her, after the whole Gateway Arch fiasco, she was not letting her guard down.

A souvenir shop was left open, letting them enter it without having to break something. There were snow globes, pencils, postcards and rack upon racks of clothes.

She grinned, "Clothes. Fresh clothes."

"Yeah," Percy told her. "But you can't justβ€”"

"Watch me."

Annabeth snatch clothes off the racks, heading towards the fitting rooms where Ariadne followed with her own stack.

She changed into a red Waterland t-shirt which was big on her, floral shorts on her legs and surf shoes placed onto her feet. A Waterland backpack was sling over her shoulder, filled with her old clothes, her Walkman and necklace. It also held some ponytails and anything else she felt like taking.

Once she stepped out, she shook her hair out and placed it into a half up half down hairstyle, curls bouncing slightly despite them being frizzy and in need of a good cleaning.

Percy gulped once he saw her, blushing slightly at her when she gave him a smile, why was he feeling this way?

Grover smirked at his friend, knowing all the emotions he's was feeling. But he shook his head once they parted ways to change.

Soon, they were searching for the Tunnel of Love while dressed in the clothes from the shop. Percy walked next to her with his hands in his pockets, "So, Ares and Aphrodite, they have a thing going?"

Ariadne gave him a small grin, "That's old gossip, Percy. Three thousand year old gossip."

"What about Aphrodite's husband?"

She shrugged, "Well, you know. Hephaestus. The blacksmith. He was crippled when he was a baby, thrown off Mount Olympus by Zeus. So he isn't exactly handsome. Cabin nine are a bit touchy on the subject. He's clever with his hands and all, but Aphrodite isn't into brains and talent, you know?"

"She likes bikers."

Ariadne nudged his shoulder, "I mean, can you blame her?"

Percy gave her a surprised look, "You like bikers?"

"Well," she said, "sometimes a bad boy is nice, but I, uh..."

Annabeth gave her a grin, "What she's saying is, she prefers skaters." The girl swatted at her but the blonde didn't care as her friend blushed.

"Skaters..." Percy looked down at his feet before shooting up, "I skate!"

Ariadne gave him an excited grin, "You do?"

"Uh... yeah. Yeah."

"That's so cool! You need to show me once we get back to camp, I'll have my brothers by me one so you can teach me!" She raised an eyebrow, "You can teach me, right?"

He nodded while she skipped towards Annabeth who shook her head, smiling at her friend.

Grover laughed at his friends wide eyes, "Skater... why? Why did I have to lie?"

"Calm down buddy, just tell her the truth."

Percy shook his head, "I can't! You saw how happy she looked. Grover, how do I learn to skate like I have for years in a matter of says when I'm on a dangerous quest?"

"You can't."

"Oh no."

Ariadne turned back to him, "But Hephaestus knows if you're wondering." Which he did, "HeΒ  caught them together once. I mean, like, literally caught them, in a golden net, and invited all the gods to come and laugh at them. Hephaestus is always trying to embarrass them. That's why they meet in out-of-the-way places like..."

She raised an eyebrow, "Like that." She nodded towards the empty pool in front of them.

The pool was shaped like a fish bowl, with a dozen statues of Cupid lining the rim with wings and arrows notched in bows. A tunnel was open, and she suspected that's where water used to float or out of it.

Her eyes scanned the sign above the attraction: THRILL RIDE O' LOVE: THIS IS NOT YOU PARENTS' TUNNEL OF LOVE!

Grover edged toward the pool, "Guys, look."

In a pink two-sweater boat under a can spot laid a bronze shield which glinted in the dim moonlight, it was Ares's shield.

Percy was ready to jump right in, "This is too easy. So we just walk down there and get it?"

The daughter of Athena looked over a Cupid statue that was the nearest to them, her fingers grazing then inscription into its base. "There's a Greek letter carved here. Eta. I wonder..."

Ariadne let her finger tap her chin, deep in thought at what it meant. The letter didn't calmΒ  her queasy stomach, it made it churn even more. This couldn't have that easy if Ares came to them for help, or else he would have done it already, there must be something else that she couldn't figure out.

"Grover," Percy asked, "you smell any monsters?"

The Saytr lifted his nose in the air, sniffing it for a quick second before shaking his head. "Nothing."

"Nothingβ€”like, in-the-Arch-and-you-didn't-smell-the-Echidna nothing, or really nothing?"

His friend looked hurt, "I told you, that was underground."

Percy cringed, "Okay, I'm sorry. I'm going down there."

"I'll go with you," Grover told him. At least he was trying to make up for St. Louis, even though Ariadne had told him she had forgiven him for that. It was hard underground, she didn't blame him.

Annabeth nodded, "Me too."

"No," Percy ordered. "I want you to stay up the top with the flying shoes. You're the Red Baron, remember? I'll be counting on you for backup incase something goes wrong." He glanced at the blonde, "I need you to help him, see if there's anything you can help him with."

"Sure," Grover said with his chest puffed up, "but what could go wrong?"

"I don't know. Just a feeling." Percy told them, but he focused on the brunette who stood with her arms crossed. "Ariadne, come with meβ€”"

She froze up slightly, her face flushing until she was as red as a tomato. "Me?"

Percy raised his eyebrows, "No, I mean the other Ariadne graveling with us."

"Okay, first of all." She pointed out, "Sarcasm; not needed. Second of all, me, go on the 'Thrill Ride of Love' with you?"

"Yes." He groaned, "Is there a problem?"

No. There wasn't a problem, but she was making it one. It's not like she liked him or anything, and it's not like he liked her, he just needed her help.

But why was her stomach full of butterflies, and why was she blushing so heavily? And why was her amethyst eyes now focusing on his sea-green ones which had a calming affect in her, and why was she noticing how the moonlight dusted his face nicely?

She took a deep breath, "No. I'm coming."

He nodded and they descended down the side of the pool, walking through it until they approached the boat.

Ares's shield was propped against the left seat, with a lady's scarf in the right one. Her foot tapped against the cement ground as she waited for the boy to grab the bronze shield, but he grabbed the scarf instead.

Percy smelled it and smiled stupidly, the scent of grapes floating off of it along with the smell of vanilla. But it was snatched away from him by Ariadne, who stuffed it into her back pocket as he looked around with a confused look.

"No. None of that love magic, you don't need it."

"What?" He asked while blinking rapidly, she rolled her eyes at him.

"Just grab the shield, Kelp Head, so we can get out of here."

But once he tugged the shield, hand wrapping around it, her gut tugged. Ariadne eyed the boat, catching sight of another Eta carved into it.

She gasped once Percy's hand broke through what he thought was a spider web, but it was a wire. A tripwire

"Percyβ€”"

"Too late."

Her eyes widened, "We have to go. It's a trap."

Gears grinding alerted them to look up, the pool was one giant machine. "Watch out!" Annabeth and Grover shouted, "Guys!"

The Cupid status turned slightly, pulling its bows back before letting them fly across the other end of the pool. Silk cables reminding her of ribbons followed behind, smaller cables weaving together to create a net.

"We have to get out," Percy told her.

She gave him a glare, "Yeah! I totally didn't think of that!"

He grabbed the shield before both of them ran heading up the side of the pool while they tried beating the net. But running up a slope was harder than sliding down, nails scratching at the walls.

Annabeth and Grover were trying to hold up the net but when they did, threads wrapped around their hands so they were forced to let go.

Cameras popped out of the Cupid statues, replacing the heads. They were blinded as bright spotlights directed themselves on the two demigods, a speaker booming throughout the pool. "Live to Olympus in one minute... Fifty-nine seconds, fifty-eight..."

Ariadne then felt stupid once she slid down from the side again, "Hephaestus! Oh my gods, I'm so stupid! And the amount of times I've hung out with Annabeth and her siblings... you would think... Eta is 'H!' He made this trap to capture his wife with Ares. The cameras are to broadcast to Olympus live. I told you this was a stupid idea! I knew someone would see is! We're gonna look like absolute fools!"

Her hand caught onto the rim and she was pulling herself up with Annabeth's help just as the mirrors surrounding the pool opened to release thousands of metal spiders poured out.

The blonde stumbled back as she left only Grover to hold the net open, struggling to do so. Ariadne's eyes widened once she saw the tiny creatures making their way towards her and Percy, falling down the rim as they were surrounded in the middle of the pool.

Of course, they were designed to just bit and pinch, but they were made for gods, and they were definitely not gods.

Percy started kicking them away as she did the same, having each other's backs while they stood on top of the boat.

A spider crawled up the boy's leg as he screamed, she knocked it off with her hand only for it to bite into her skin. She cried out in pain while flinging it to the side, blood poured from the small wound as she hissed.

"Thirty, twenty-nine..." the speaker sounded.

Her eyes glared up at the sky, "Shut up!"

The metal bugs spat out small threads to tie them down, only for them to break through easily. But as more emerged and tied their thread together, they were becoming overwhelmed.

Grover tried pulling at the net from the top, but it wouldn't move. And poor Annabeth was frozen by the rim, wishing to be somewhere other than there.

"Fifteen, fourteen," the speaker told them,

"Grover!" Percy yelled out, "Get into the booth! Find the 'on' switch!"

The Saytr faltered, "Butβ€”"

"Do it!" Ariadne yelled out, kicking another spider from her body. Her wound was becoming red and more blood was dripping from it, luckily, it was a prick instead of a chunk taken from her hand.

She trusted the boy enough to know he had a plan, it may be impulsive and stupid, but what great plan wasn't?

"Five, fourβ€”"

Percy shut his eyes as Ariadne kicked away the arachnids, her feet moving quickly while she tried shield the boy. Many crawled along her but she flicked them off the best she could, he had his hand out and she knew what he was doing.

"Two, one, zero!"

Then, water rushed out of the pipes in a massive explosion. Splashing its way viciously into the pool as it drew the spiders under its powerful currents.

Percy pushes the girl into a seat and buckled her in while water poured into them in a tidal wave, spiders smashed against the walls and short circuited in the liquid as Percy managed to not let them tip over.

What worried her the most, was the fact she couldn't swim. But what amazed her the most, was the power Percy had. She finally realized why the gods were so scared of him.

And for the first time since she had known him, she didn't see a sarcastic, preteen who was impulsive and loyal to the bone, she saw a dangerous demigod who could wipe out armies of monsters in seconds if he wanted too.

Her eyes were blinded by the spotlights, cameras recording Percy miraculously saving them from the trap.

Ariadne let a scream tear from her throat as they took a forty-five degree plunge down a dark tunnel and past different romantics pictures.

She watched as Percy was having the time of his life. Sea-green eyes full of life and excitement while his black hair swayed in the wind roaring in their ears, a grin spread across his face while it looked as if he was surfing.

If this wasn't such a dire situation on her life, she would watch him with awe and possibly blush like she was now.

But she couldn't shut up, "IF WE GET OUT IF THIS ALIVE, I'M GOING TO PUNCH YOU SO HARD YOU'LL SEE HADES YOURSELF!"

He just laughed at her while soaring down the tunnel, but they inched towards the exit where two other boats created barricade in front of the ramp they were supposed to fly off of.

"Unfasten you're seat belt," Percy told her.

She shot him a crazy look, "Look, I trust you but not with this!" She yelled back.

"Unless you want to get smashed to death, which is absolutely fine by me." The shield strapped to his arm, "We're going to have to jump for it."

Ariadne removed her seat belt, taking his hand in hers as he let her steady and stopping her from flinging out of the boat.

They grew closer to the chained gates, Percy glanced over. "When I say go!"

"No!" She yelled, "When I say go!"

"What?"

Her eyes scanned over his, "Physics! Annabeth taught me that force times the trajectory angleβ€”"

"Fine! When you say go!"

The girl watched closely, any slight mistake could lead to their deaths. And when she found the right time, she yelled out. "NOW!"

Ariadne and Percy jumped and soared through the air, heading towards solid ground which they would crash into. But something caught them by their backs before they could.

Grover has saved them, grabbing Percy and her by their shirt's. "You're too heavy! We're going down!"

They tried slowing their fall but landing against a photo-board, Grover's Head going through the face hole, becoming Noo-Noo the Friendly Whale.

Ariadne and Percy fell to the ground, safe but scratched up. Her hand throbbed as more blood trickled from it, she cringed once she stumbled up.

Percy still had the shield around his arm, but the whole ordeal made her hate Ares even more. His eyes trained onto the camera which spun around to face them, getting a perfect view of their shaken looks.

"Shows over!" The demigod yelled, "Thank you! Goodnight!"

And with that, the statues quite rolling and returned to their normal state. Despite the fact that the boat she and Percy were once on was smashed to pieces and surrounded by the bodies of metal spiders which once attacked them, she let out a small smirk.

Percy has a tsunami in his eyes, fists clenched so tight she was ready for blood to trickle down like her own hand. He faced her and only her, expression matched by her eyes.

"We need to have a little talk with Ares."

And boy, was the god going to wish he never asked them for help.
