haru was born in japan and lived in a small town with his working class parents until he was of school age. they moved to tokyo for his education and he grew up to be a mediocre student with high but not top tier grades. he played a lot of volleyball and football and wanted to be a professional volleyball player as a kid but got his back injured and couldn't chase that dream.

he was never physically abused but felt his parents didn't love him and neglected him emotionally his entire life, so he felt depressed and often anxious at home. when he graduated high school he silently left his parents' home and cut off most contact with them to move to south korea and live with his estranged grandmother who passed away just months after his arrival. she left him her apartment, in which he currently lives.

he didn't go to university straight away but started working several jobs to provide his grandmother with medical help after finding out she had cancer. during his first year he met a man during one of his shifts as a waiter and they started dating, only for the relationship to crash and burn a year and a half later when haru got cheated on. he quit his job as a waiter and instead got a job as a flight attendant, in which he still works.

he spends most of his days working on online university assignments in marine biology, which he wishes to pursue one day.
