It was Joshua's birthday so Seokmin woke up in a very gleeful mood. He was turning 30 and although Seokmin had referred to him as a 30 year old since he met him, he was actually turning 30 now.
Joshua had gone to a private meeting with other investors and he would be back by around 4pm. Even though he told Dokyeom he didn't need to celebrate his birthday since he had never celebrated it before, Seokmin refused to listen.
He was determined to give Joshua the birthday party that he had always deserved.
First he started off by decorating the house with balloons, confetti and streamers. He placed the 3 and the 0 balloons together right in front of the entrance then placed the streamer after like a gate to the kitchen.
Then he went out to get his gift. He bought a small wooden box and began to fill it with paper cranes, however, written on these 365 paper cranes were love letters to Joshua, handwritten by Seokmin.
He had been preparing the gift for a while now and although he was unsure if he would ever be able to give Joshua, his birthday was the perfect opportunity to do so.
Seokmin was fierce in everything. He hated fiercely, he killed fiercely, he saved fiercely and he loved fiercely.
His second gift was a framed picture of both of them. Seokmin's favourite picture of the two, on Christmas day, baking cookies.
After preparing the house and his gifts, Seokmin started to cook. Joshua would be back in about 5 hours so he had to get everything ready before then.
He started off with making the red velvet cake batter. It was Joshua's favourite so of course he had to make the cake that exact flavour. He finished off the batter and set it aside, beginning to cook his steak.
His years alone in Korea had taught him how to live, how to care for himself as he hadn't really been doing it before and now he was using those skills to care for Joshua who never had anyone by his side to do that before.
As Seokmin cooked, his forearms flexed, revealing the intricate veins that whirled around themselves. His face was relaxed but even his relaxed expression was arousing, tempting, worth begging for.
He was the line between compassion and callousness, although recently he had been leaning towards compassion as opposed to his past self.
At 4:00 on the dot, Seokmin had finished cooking and plating both the cake and their candlelit dinner on the dining table. He made his final decorations on the cake and lit the candles, moving towards the front door.
He stood behind the final streamer with a party horn in his mouth, ready to blow it once Joshua came in.
About 2 minutes passed before the door opened and Joshua stepped in, immediately freezing at the sight of the balloons and streamers.
He walked through them, fascinated by the decorations and as he reached the last streamer and Dokyeom began to come into view, he blew the horn and threw it out of his mouth before starting to sing.
Joshua's mouth hung open, his stare at Dokyeom unceasing until Dokyeom finished the song. "Blow out your candles love." He requested and Joshua gave a slight nod before blowing air on his candles, putting the fire out.
Except after he did that, filled with so much appreciation and indebtedness in his heart, Joshua began to cry. It was his first time celebrating his birthday since he was born.
He usually didn't celebrate it because he knew no one really cared about him or his birthday. To be honest, he didn't care about his day of birth either but Dokyeom cared. Dokyeom always cared.
It was getting harder for Joshua to imagine a life without Dokyeom. The man had become such an integral part to Joshua's career and his life too. Dokyeom had influenced him in so many positive ways and had changed his life around, for the better.
They had chosen not to define their relationship yet but Joshua already knew what they were, or what he wanted them to be;
A happy couple.
Seokmin rushed into the kitchen, placing the cake down before running back out and bundling up Joshua in his arms. His hands ran over Joshua's hair as he sniffled into Dokyeom's shoulder.
"Thank you Mon Coeur." Joshua mumbled as he tried to stop crying. Seokmin shook his head, continuing to comfort Joshua as he replied, "You deserve all this and so much more baby." He whispered into Joshua's ears, soothing him even more.
"I love you." Joshua looked up at Dokyeom who wiped away Joshua's tears from his face with his thumb, a warm smile plastering itself on his face as he looked back into Joshua's eyes.
"I love you too." Seokmin responded before closing the gap and giving Joshua a loving kiss on the lips which Joshua returned, their lips salty with the taste of tears making them all the more unable to leave each other.
As their tongues intertwined and Joshua's hands slid down Seokmin's waist, their pure, innocent feelings of love towards one another ruptured, cloaking them in their eternal vow of affection towards.
"Love, let's cut your cake first." Seokmin pulled away from the kiss, his hands in its acquired position around Joshua's neck. "And eat the steak dinner I spent hours preparing." He added, holding Joshua's hand and going into the kitchen.
Joshua was taken aback by the decorations that also reached the kitchen and the fancy dinner Dokyeom had prepared that had now adorned the dinner table.
"Wow, you really did all this babe?" His left hand went around Dokyeom's waist, placing a kiss on his cheek. Seokmin nodded, the butterflies in his stomach multiplying rapidly after Joshua's casual display of affection.
"I had to do something for you, even though you don't celebrate your birthday, I wanted to show you that I'm here and I'll celebrate your birthday every year, for as long as I can." Seokmin elucidated and he knew he was making a promise that he wouldn't be able to keep but in the spur of the moment, when it was just him and Joshua, he transcended, above all his worries and all his deadlines.
None of them mattered to him anymore.
He wasn't going to kill Joshua Hong. He didn't have it in him and he didn't want to either. He was totally and entirely in love with Joshua and he would never hurt him.
No matter what.
"I have a gift for you." Seokmin announced as Joshua took his last bite of steak. Seokmin was a fast eater so he'd finished his meal earlier on. He stood up, going to their room and opened the drawer, taking out the box and the picture.
He sped down the stairs, back to the kitchen, before sitting down and placing his gifts on the table. Joshua stared at the gifts in surprise. Dokyeom had even prepared gifts?
Wasn't he being spoiled a little too much?
"This is my favourite picture of us." Seokmin slowly slid the frame towards Joshua, who picked it up and instantly smiled at it, his eyes curving into smiles as well.
"It's so pretty." He said, his thoughts sincere as he gazed at the picture. "It is, isn't it." Seokmin replied, once again gazing at Joshua and nothing else, the image of Joshua as the devil had altogether disappeared from Seokmin's mind without a trace.
What Joshua was, was an angel. An angel with wings that glittered under the night sky. An angel who was simply... misjudged and misunderstood.
"And what's this?" Joshua gestured to the wooden box, his other hand holding the picture against his chest. Seokmin smiled as he opened the box and passed it to Joshua.
"It's for you, 365 love letters, handcrafted by me." Seokmin smiled as he explained everything to Joshua who had already tuned out once Seokmin had said 365 love letters. He didn't think falling deeper in love with Dokyeom was possible, but here he was, doing just that.
"Starting from next year... which is tomorrow, you get to open one letter, every day." Seokmin closed the box and reached into his pocket, pulling out another crane.
"However, this one is for today, your birthday... but don't read it now." He stopped Joshua from opening it, instead keeping it in his pocket. "Read it later."
Joshua was frozen in place on his seat. He had never known that it was possible to be loved like this. To be cherished so much and cared for without complaints.
Dokyeom's charm was unceasing as it made Joshua's love for him unable to dim, regardless of anything that had happened or would happen. He would be Dokyeom's forever.
"Are you o-"
Seokmin's words were cut off by Joshua's lips on his, so brutal and in contrast, so comforting as Joshua pulled Seokmin up and jacked him unto his waist.
Seokmin's hands stabilised on Joshua's chest, undoing the buttons of his dress shirt but never breaking the kiss. Joshua strode to the counter, placing Dokyeom on it and continuing their kiss.
The taste of each other was addictive, compelling Joshua to drag Dokyeom closer and closer until their bodies were barely apart, the light friction igniting the sparks in them.
Seokmin didn't waste time to undo Joshua's belt, tossing it to the side while Joshua explored Dokyeom's body, tracing out his every curve.
Once Joshua's pants had fallen to the floor, he gently pulled Dokyeom down, and pushed down his own pants, getting the lube they'd stored in one of the kitchen drawers and coating Dokyeom's hole, a sigh of relief coming out as the lube touched his skin just before Joshua inserted himself into Dokyeom.
Seokmin gasped as he felt Joshua enter him slowly, biting down on his lips as the pleasurable feeling coated his body from top to bottom.
Joshua made a trail of kisses on Dokyeom's back as he went back and forth, picking up the pace. He put his hands on Dokyeom's waist and pulled him in closer resulting in heavy moans from the two of them.
"Je t'adore, toi et chaque partie de toi, mon cœur." Joshua breathed against Dokyeom's neck as he bent forward, his voice seductive, sensous and thrilling sending Seokmin's heart on a wild ride and his body on an erotic one.
He had no idea what Joshua had just said but it turned him on even more, his body starting to shiver at Joshua's sensitive touch. "Should I stop?" Joshua teased, his voice low and harsh, with a menacing undertone.
"...N-no." Seokmin quivered, only wanting more of Joshua. "I can't hear you Mon Coeur." Joshua leaned forward, thrusting himself deeper into Dokyeom who arched backwards, groaning in pleasure.
"No." Seokmin said firmly, not wanting this to end any time soon. "Then show me you want this, show me you want me." Joshua's tone was commanding and assertive and it made Seokmin reach new highs he didn't even know about.
"I want you Joshua, I need you... I love you." Seokmin whimpered as he pushed himself backwards, making Joshua go into him more. A smirk tugged at Joshua's lips and his eyes darkened with libido as he held Dokyeom's shoulders and started to move back and forth in a familiar rhythm, picking up the pace after a few seconds.
"Fuck, Joshua..." Seokmin breathed out as his body tussled forward and backward, the movement gradually making him reach his peak.
"Do you know how addictive you are, mon amour? You make me go mental." Joshua purred and with one final thrust, the two men reached their peak, collapsing unto one another in total satisfaction.
"So do you Love, you make me want to abandon my morals." Seokmin managed to turn around, pulling Joshua in for a closing kiss.
As their arms wrapped around each other, the sun started to set, casting it's orange light upon the two and beautifying their declarations of love.
