"Thanks for the lift, my car's still in the garage..." Jonny shrugged his coat off as he climbed into Adam's car. He shook his arms once more to get rid of his jacket, before turning to his brother.

"How bad did you crash it this time?" Adam scoffed, both hands on the wheel as he turned the car around and headed for the usual destination: his parents house.

Jonny rolled his eyes and opted for changing the subject. "What do you think the party will be like?"

"Probably a shit storm, knowing our parents." Adam shrugged and sighed, eyes on the road as he drove "At least Sephy will be there, she's actually okay."

Jonny nodded and sat up. "Yeah, I know. She's so cool and pretty. And she's only been living with mum and dad a month but the other day she said the funniest thing to me-" he came to an abrupt pause as he realised Adam's smug expression "...What, Pusface?"

"Sounds like somebody's in love!" Adam cooed mockingly. Jonny would've punched him in the shoulder if he weren't driving, but instead he just glared.

"I am not in love with her, can you please just piss off with that?" Jonny huffed, folding his arms over his chest. Though Adam was reluctant to let it go, of course.

"Are you excited for your welcoming party then, love?" Jackie grinned as she practically skipped down the hallway with excitement. "And don't you look gorgeous tonight." She kissed Sephy's cheek tenderly.

"Well, sort of had to make an effort for my own party." Sephy laughed and even did a little twirl dance in excitement.

The doorbell chimed and Sephy looked cautiously to the door, wondering whether to answer or not. Taking a few more careful steps, she opened it up.

"Persephone, so great to see you! Your parents told my parents you were here so I just thought I'd drop by." A tall, skinny, brunette lady stood at the door "Do you remember me?"

Sephy hesitated and stifled a nervous laugh. "...Would you be mad if I said no?"

"It's Kelly. From school." The lady at the door grinned at Sephy through orange-red lipgloss.

"Oh, yeah. Kelly. I remember, of course." Sephy nodded, forcing a smile "This isn't the best time, I'm sorry. I'm actually just about to have a party." She gestured to the banner in the hallway.

"Oh, I'll only be a minute." Kelly laughed and stepped inside, taking Sephy by the hand and taking her into the sitting room.

"Who is it?" Jackie called from the kitchen. Sephy sighed.

"Just a friend from school. She's only stopping for a minute." Sephy called back, and forced a smile for Kelly.

"Oh right, okay love. I'll leave you to it." Jackie replied. Sephy turned back to Kelly as they sat together on the sofa. An awkward silence fell upon them.

"So, I finished my master's degree. Oh, and I'm engaged!" Kelly flaunted her massive diamond "You didn't even do A-Levels, did you?"

Sephy cleared her throat awkwardly and shook her head. "Well... I've just been doing my drawing and stuff." She shrugged.

"Oh yeah, I remember how you used to draw! It's great to have a hobby." Kelly patted Sephy's shoulder "But the thing is with that, is that to make any money out of it you have to be... well, you know...good."

Sephy cleared her throat awkwardly. It was a miracle that at that moment Jackie went answer the door and Sephy was releaved to find out the boys had arrived.

"Adam, Jonny. Thank god you're here." Sephy laughed and got up to greet the both of them, kissing their cheeks. The room went silent, as the boys waited to be introduced to the strange lady on the sofa. "...Oh and you remember Kelly from school?"

Jonny and Adam looked at eachother quickly, before forcing some fake smiles and nodding.

"Actually, Kelly was just leaving." Sephy mumbled, helping their unpleasant guest up from the sofa and showing her to the door.

"Well it was lovely to chat. Sorry about your job situation." Kelly called before Sephy did the honours of closing the front door on her.

Adam smirked a little at the sight of it all. "And what happened there?" He asked curiously.

"Oh, you really don't wanna know." Sephy laughed and waved it off. "I'm just glad you two are here... Now come on, help me set up for the party! Guests will be arriving soon; we've gotta fix this house up!"

"Knowing you, you'll probably break this house up." Jonny teased, following Sephy through to the living room.
